Last Chance to Win!

I am cutting it close but I made it!  It has been one of those days where  there were so many competing interests at work.  I finally got a chance to sit down and craft something.  Do you know what I did?  I went to the Craft Project Central site and used one of the patterns for a project designed for October by Kris.    

Her is Kris' project.

I followed her tutorial for the card box and here is what I made.

The tutorial saved me a lot of time and figuring and I love how it turned out. Grateful Sunflower

It is a gorgeous fall day here with blue skies and sunshine!  Remind me when I start to complain about the rain and the gray that we have had a pretty beautiful fall.   How was your Halloween?  We were busy!  We had maybe a 100  trick or treaters, lots of scary ones and a few cute one too!  I finally turned off the lights at 9.  

Here's what I am feeling  today.

Still loving this big sunflower!  This time I embossed it on Soft Suede cardstock and cut it out.  Lucky for me it is a pretty easy one to cut out.  I started fussing around with spraying Gold Smooch Spritz and other things like that but in the end decided that I would keep it simple.

It's a Challenge

Sounds like I want to challenge you to a duel!  Actually  I  want to challeng you to participate in a challenge.  Did you know that Craft Project Central has a monthly challenge?  It is called the Creating Pretty Cards Challenge. 

Here's the sketch.

It is a sweet one!  This sketch was designed by Julie Edmonds and there is even a mini tutorial.

Here are some guidelines to help you with this challenge.

 Please Do!:

• Share cards related to each month’s card challenge using Stampin’ Up! supplies only.
• Post the card to your blog or other online forum (e.g. Splitcoaststampers).
• When posting the card to your blog or other online forum consider using as a keyword CPCX, with the X representing the card challenge number.  E.g. For this our second challenge it would be CPC2.
• Use the link tool below to link to your card (not just your blog, please).
• Leave comments for those that share their card creations!

Please Don’t!:

Simply Soft in Wisteria Wonder

Yes, my infatuation with the hostess set Simply Soft continues!   When I first saw this stamp set  I knew I would be embossing on vellum.  There is something elegant about white embossing on vellum. 

I used SU Cardstock Vellum which is heavier than regular vellum making it easier to work with.    I colored the image with a mixture of reinker and Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz and my favorite pointed cotton swabs.  The Smooch spritz gives it some shine which unfortunately does not show up in the picture.
