Cheerful Critters Graduation

I meant to post yesterday to start the month of right but the day got away from me.

Cheerful Critters pul up 15-05-01

Cheerful Critters Pull Up card 150501

Not sure what the proper name is for this style of card but I call it a Pull Up card.  I was going to put that in the title of the post but somehow Cheerful Critters Pull Up Graduation card sounded like a different kind of graduation than I was thinking of.  Anyway, I gotta scoot I have people coming over for a class in a few minutes!  If you want more information about the card let me know.

Stamp with you soon,

Gift Card Enclosure Pack...I'll Miss You!

I have looked at the Stampin' Up! Retiring List a lot and I keep seeing new items that I missed before.  I was surprised to see that the Gift Card Enclosure pack (136662) is on that list!  Tell me it isn't true!  I have made numerous note card holders with it and probably one of my favorite projects, a get well gift. These projects were posted here last year.  I am sharing them again as a tribute to the versatile Gift Card Enclosure!

Remember this note card holder?  I think the only thing retiring on this project is the gift card enclosure.  Wait, the sentiment on the note card is from the Sumthin' Sumthin' (134525) set

On this post there is even a quick tutorial on how to score the gift card enclosure to make the holder.

This gift card enclosure turned get well gift is fun and easy to make!

The Back to Black DSP (133700) and the sweet Finishing Touches edgelit (127010 at $4.98!)are also on the Retiring list.

Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop...Congratulations!

Blog hop header

Welcome to another round of the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop!  This month our theme is Congratulations!  This year we have quite a few graduations to celebrate so I thought it would be a good idea to get started on the cards.   One thing I like to do is coordinate the colors I use  to the school colors.  I think it makes it more personal and fun.

I was so happy that the school colors for the first graduate is purple and gold! I couldn't wait to break out the gold foil paper and gold glimmer paper.

This card fold is called a tri-shutter card and they are a LOT easier to make  than they look.   Here's a diagram help you.

Love is Kindness Easel Card

How did it get to be almost the middle of April?  This month is racing by and I am once again running behind.  One of the many things on my list is to catch up on my correspondence especially birthday cards.  Here's one that is ready to go.

Lots of fussy cutting.  You can see I got a little tired of cutting so I lopped off the stems.  Pruning at its best.

Stamp Out Autism Blog Hop

Autism blog hop header

Welcome to the Stamp Out Autism Blog Hop.  This blog hop is part of a very special Stampin' Up! demonstrator's vision.  Lee Conrey's vision was a nationwide fundraising event for Autism.   There are many stamping events taking place across the country to raise funds as well as this blog hop.  I hope you enjoy the hop and will be inspired to donate!

Indescribable Gift 15-04-10

As you travel along the blog hop you will notice each participant is sharing a fact about Autism.  Here is my fact to share.  Some cases of autism may be associated with a family history of manic depression.

I chose to color my flowers blue since blue is the Autism Awareness color.

Hello Life and the NAC #135

Happy April!  Today  I am playing along with a new challenge, I should say a new challenge to me.  The challenge is called Nacho Average Challenge.  Here's what I made for sketch #135.

Hello Life 15-4-1

I love this sentiment from the Hello Life stamp set and I am embracing it for April.  This means more time in the craft room and more playing with stamps, ink, and paper.  The background was an experiment and it was fun to just be messy.  I took a piece of watercolor paper and wet it down with an Aqua Painter.  Using the Aqua painter I applied different drops of re-inkers and let them spread.

Product List

Unfortunately I cannot remember all the colors I used.  I really need to take notes while I stamp.  The re-inkers I do remember using: Crushed Curry and Elegant Eggplant.

Blended Bloom and Irresistibly Yours

This card as simple as it looks took me forever to glue down.

Blended Bloom 15-03-28

The flower was colored  on Monday and the Irresistibly Yours DSP was sponged on Tuesday and then it sat on my desk.  I tried all kinds of different layouts, layers, seriously it was  kind of ridiculous.  This should have been easy since I started out with this lovely clean and crisp layout from the Techno Stamper sketch TSSC #359.

Finally this morning I decided I had to finish the card. Still not sure about it but I am moving on!

Here's a close up of the flower.  It has been a while since I pulled out this fun to color single stamp.
