Crazy for Cupcakes and Scallops

Cupcakes are so popular!  Who can resist those little bits of sweetness?  Scalloped edges are also very popular.  I don't think there are too many pages in the current SU catalog that does not have a scallop edge on it somewhere.   Here's a quick and easy card that has the cutest cupcake image and scalloped edges.

007 copy

Stamps:  Crazy for Cupcakes and On Your Birthday

Paper:  Whisper White and Baja Breeze

Inks:  Pink Pirouette, Creamy Caramel, Baja Breeze, Black Stazon

Extras:  Baja Breeze Striped Grosgrain ribbon, Aqua Painter, Chunky Sprinkles glitter,  scallop circle die, and scallop circle 2 die for the Big Shot.

To make the circle card cut your cardstock 8 1/2"  x 5 1/2", fold in half.  Line up the fold right below the scallop edge on the Scallop Circle die.  The folded part that is below the scallop cutting edge will not be cut when you run it through the Big Shot which will give you your card base.  The Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set is currently on special.  For more information about the current special look at the right hand column of this blog.

3 Little Pumpkins

Here's a cute way to use your circle punches to make a Halloween or Thanksgiving decoration.

018I used 3 different sizes of circle punches.  The largest is the 1 3/4" punch,  then the 1 3/8", and then 1 1/4".  Punch 8 circles and fold them in half.  Glue each half to another half circle until they are all connected.  There will be a little hole at the top, cut a small piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock and insert it in the hole with a little glue.  Punch a small star out of Old Olive paper to make the leaves and punch a hole in the middle  and place over the stem.  The smaller pumpkins are a little wobbly so you can trim some of the bottom off to make it flatter to help stabilize them.  Sponge some Chocolate Chip ink along the "ribs" for some shadowing and definition.

House of Haunts

This set House of Haunts has been on my want list from the first time I looked at the catalog.  There is something about that owl on that scraggly tree that appeals to me.   Here is a quick card using the haunted house image.

007 copy Stamps:  House of Haunts, Classic Backgrounds(stars)

Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Going Gray

Inks:  VersaMark for the stars,Black Craft, Summer Sun and Pumpkin Pie Craft to color the moon.

I also used a little White craft ink to try and mimic a spooky, cloudy sky.
