Create-A-Calendar Kit

In the Holiday Mini Catalog there is the Create-A-Calendar kit.   When I saw it I knew I had to get some for Christmas gifts.  There are so many possibilities and ways to put this calendar together.  I decided to use the idea shown with the 3 Clip Clipboard.

Calendar clipboard 1

Here is how I stored the months and die cuts.

Calendar clipboard 2

I think this will hang near my desk so I may want a notepad.

Calendar clipbaord 3

Other than the Calendar Kit I used the Urban Garden Paper, 3 Clip Clipboard, Riding Hood Red Striped Grosgrain, 1" Double Stitched Chocolate Chip ribbon, Blooms Die Cuts, Rhinestone brad, Filigree Brad and the Best Yet Hostess set.   You could embellish this a lot more or keep it simple.  Order your Calendar kits it will make a great gift for the crafty person on your list or someone you want to give a handmade personalized gift.

Rock-a-Bye Girl Simply Scrappin Kit

I needed to make a mini scrapbook to celebrate a new baby girl.  I decided I would use the Rock-a-Bye Girl Simply Scrappin kit.  The Simply Scrappin kits come with a  lot of paper and die cuts.  I made 2 of these books and still have die cuts and paper left over. I may have enough to make another book.

I used the On Board Lots of Letters chipboard for her name.  I inked the chipboard up with Regal Rose Craft ink and then applied Heat and Stick powder and then I glitterfied the letters.  I used the Big Shot to cut out the large scallop circle.  The only other extra I used that did not come in the kit was some Regal Rose grosgrain ribbon.

I decided  to not add too many embellishments so that the new mom will have more flexibility when she adds her pictures.

More Punch Tricks

Did you receive Week 9 of my 12 Weeks of Christmas?  If you are not on my mailing list you need to sign up in the upper left hand corner.

Here is another idea using the Scallop Edge punch

Scallop edge christmas card

In this post I showed you how to make the scallop edge squares but it was not until I was working on the 9th Week of Christmas samples did I think about layering the squares!

I cut the scallops away from the frame to make these 2 layers.  The paper is from the Holiday Treasures paper pack.  The stamped image is from the Curly Label Punch bundle which is one of the bundles featured in the Holiday Extravaganza sale .  Quantities are limited so hurry and order it online  at my website .

Thanksgiving Traditions

Tonight we made  turkeys.  This is something we have been doing for many years.  I cannot remember who I learned this from or when it started but it has been at least since my son was in 1st or 2nd grade and he is in college now.

002 copy   Here is what you will need:

Striped Shortbread cookies

Candy Corn

Hersheys Kisses

Chocolate frosting (not shown)

Caramels

You will need to zap your caramels for a few seconds so you can roll them into a ball.  This is the hardest part.

Once you have shaped the caramel  place it on top of the kiss. Sometimes we put some frosting on the kiss to help cement the pieces.

Put some frosting on the top of the caramel and place a  candy corn on top.  Now our turkey is taking shape, he's looking more like a turkey now!

Put some frosting on the cookie and attach the caramel to the cookie.  Looking good!

We made a lot of turkeys tonight.  It just would not feel like Thanksgiving without them.  What are your Thanksgiving  traditions?

Remember to check my blog and website tomorrow for the Holiday Extravaganza special.

Two Cool Dudes...again

008 copy

Here's a quick card to make using Two Cool Dudes.  I inked the stamp up in Pacific Point (In Color) and made him a little hat with the 3/4" square punch.  He needed a little more sprucing up so I added a Rhinestone brad from the Fire collection and paper pieced his scarf in Riding Hood Red (In Color).  I added a scallop edge and some designer paper from the Washington Apple pack.  You still have time to order supplies and make your Christmas cards with a quick and easy idea like this.
