Twick or Tweet sneak peek

Just a few more days until the Holiday Mini catalog goes "live".  This is one great mini!  One of the sets I really like is called Twick or Tweet.  Here's another card that features that set and a new jumbo wheel from the Holiday mini called Haunting Hill.

002 copy

Stamps: Twick or Tweet and Haunting Hill jumbo wheel both from the fabulous Holiday mini catalog, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper:  Basic Gray, Cast-A-Spell DP, Pumpkin Pie, & Basic Black
Ink:  Black Stazon, Black ink cartridge, Pumpkin Pie marker
Extras:  Circles #2 dies, 1 3/4" circle punch, 5/8" black grosgrain ribbon

In this new mini catalog there are also 2 new hostess sets.  They are seriously cute!  A new hostess special starts on September 1 so call me and host your own stamping party/class, you don't want to miss out on all the fun!

FALLing for the Big Shot

Okay I know this is a corny title but what can I say?  Here is a fun project we did at my last Big Shot gathering/class.  The idea for this project came from the monthly magazine SU demonstrators receive.  I saw it and knew it was something I needed to make.

 001 copy

We used the Serifs Essentials Alphabet, Birds and Bloom sizzlit and the Little Leaves sizzlits.  We also used the Finial press embossing folder on a couple of the letters.  See the little leaf on the F and the L?  It is from the Autumn Days set.  To get that autumny leaf look I used a technique called "thumping".  Here's a close up of one of the leaves.

I inked up the stamp with Always Artichoke Classic ink.  Then I used the brush end of my markers( I used Ruby Red and More Mustard) and randomly thumped it onto the stamp.  Fun huh?  Make sure you do not miss another Big Shot class or any class for that matter by signing up for my newsletter.  You can also see my upcoming events on my SU Website

Hope to stamp with you soon!

Falling Leaves

I seem to be in the mood for Fall stamping projects. Here is a card that I made using the Falling Leaves stamp set and the jumbo wheel Bright Blessings.  I made this and used a lot of the same ideas to make this card014 copy

Stamps: Falling Leaves, Bright Blessings jumbo wheel, and Woodgrain

Ink:  Close to Cocoa jumbo ink cartridge, Dusty Durango,Crushed Curry, Old Olive

This would be a great project to do at a stamping party or class.  Call me to schedule a fun stamping get together with you and your friends.

Another Stamping Challenge

Whenever I can I like to do a stamping challenge.    There are many blogs out there that have challenges.  It is always fun to see what people come up with given the same inspiration.  It also helps to get me to make something differently than what I usually do.

Here is a card I made for the Stamping 411 challenge.

Paper:  Chocolate CHip, Very Vanilla, Dusty Durango, Old Olive

Decor Stencils

Did you know that SU carries Decors Stencils?   Well, if you did not then you need to look here at the Decor Elements catalog and flip to the last few pages.   I decided to try and used the Kind Thoughts Brocade Decor Stencil.

 008 copy

I used a sponge dauber and dabbed Going Gray Craft ink( I just realized we no longer sell Going Gray Craft ink)  over the stencil.  It was very easy and quick.  I used the Lovely Letters set and stamped JOY in Black Craft ink.  The tile still needed a little more so I used some of the pearls and a flower from the Pretties kit.  Once everything was dry I placed the stencil over a couple of areas and used a little Shimmer Paint (this will be available in the Holiday Mini) .  A little Organza ribbon and Gray taffeta finished up this quick but elegant project.  So check out the Decor Elements catalog and Decor stencils!

Sneak Peek-Twick or Tweet

Here's a little sneak peek of the stampin goodness headed your way in the Holiday Mini catalog.

007 copy

This bird is part of a set called Twick or Tweet.  The other images are great but this little bird I had to have!  The yummy ribbon is new 1 1/4" striped grosgrain and it comes in Pumpkin, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive and Black.  You need this ribbon not only does it make a big impact it is so easy to work with.  Love it!  I think that my hostess clubs will need to make this project next month.  If you are in one of my clubs what do you think?  If you are not in one of my clubs, why not?  I am finalizing my clubs for September and there are some spots still available so contact me and you can join in the fun!

Autumn Days

Autumndays harvest moon

I love the wheat image in the Autumn Days stamp set.  Actually, I really like all the plant images.  I have had this image of the wheat and a harvest moon in my mind since I first saw this set.  I finally got it down on paper.  Do I dare say it could pass as a "manly" card?  I know, I am opening myself up to teasing since my definition of a manly card is pretty loose.  Some would say I think anything that has brown or black on it qualifies in my mind.  Pretty close to the truth, so you let me know what you think.  Maybe I need to tighten up my definition of what a manly card is!

Stamps: Autumn Days and Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper:  Glossy White, Black textured, Elegant Eggplant, Very Vanilla
Inks:  Old Olive, Summer Sun, Pumpkin Pie, Elegant Eggplant, Night of Navy and Black Stazon
Big Shot : SU Perfect Details Texturz plate, Clear Circle, Scallop Circle
Punches: Scallop Oval, Large and Small Oval, 1 3/4" circle
Extras:  Stampin Sponges, Black 5/8" grosgrain, Elegant Eggplant 1/4" grosgrain

Wings of Friendship and a Medallion

Sometimes I think it is harder to come up with a catchy title for a blog post than anything else about blogging.  The title of this post is anything but catchy or clever so I hope you will like the picture!

010 copy

Stamps:  Wings of Friendship and Medallion
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip and cardstock vellum
Ink: Whisper White Craft ink
Extras:  Stampin pastels, Organza ribbon, Scallop edge punch, Clear Rhinestone brad, ribbon slide from the Styled Silver Hodgepodge kit, flower from the Pretties kit, and Chunky Sprinkles glitter.

So, was the sample better than the title?  Hope so!
