BOO! Here's the trick I have not sent out the 12 Weeks of Christmas email yet but not to worry the treat will be coming soon! Have a frightfully fun day!
Seriously, I need to come up with some better titles for my posts! The other day I was stamping and spraying everything with Champagne Shimmer Paint that was mixed with alcohol. I love the look. It iis subtle but adds a lot. I bought the Paper Daisies on page 188 of the catalog and wanted to make some pink flowers that were shimmery. I added a few drops of Pretty in Pink reinker to the alcohol and Champagne Shimmer mist combo and this is what happened.
Unfortunately it is hard to see the shimmer but you can see the soft Pretty in Pink daisies. This was so quick and easy and resulted in a very even pink color and shimmer all with the same spray! You know I love the Music Notes wheel so I rolled that over one of the daisies.
Here is everything I used:
Wheel: Music Notes
Ink: Black ink cartridge and Pretty in Pink reinker
Paper: Cardstock vellum, Basic Black, Pretty in Pink
Big Shot: Elegant Lines embossing folder
Embellies: Basic Pearls, Vintage brad, Paper Daisies, Champagne Shimmer paint, Pretty in Pink satin ribbon.
If you need to add some shimmery color to your life contact me and we will get some on the way to you!

Catchy title huh? I know I have a way with words. Hopefully you will like the page better than my title! Recently I was asked to do a party that focused on scrapbooking instead of cards. I have known the hostess for a long time and she was at one of my more memorable parties that I did when i first moved to Spokane. Someday i will share that story with you. Let's just say I left quite an "impression" on someone. Anyway, I agreed and we did a page for our make and take and I was happy with how it all turned out.
I broke the page into 3 stations. I thought it would make the make and take flow better. Here is what they made at one station.

Does this ever happen to you? You want to stamp some cards but you really don't have an idea in mind and so you end up just kind of staring at your supplies? Well that was me. I needed some all occasion cards to have on hand but did not have any ideas or a "vision". Here is what helped me. I picked out a stamp set that I have not inked up yet (gasp!) , chose some DSP (aka designer series paper) a neutral cardstock and ink. This helped to focus me and get me stamping. Really it all comes back to SIP (Stamps, Ink, Paper).
Here is what I came up with.
I liked it so much I made them in all the In Colors except for Pear Pizzaz.
Stamps: Apple Blossoms level 2 hostess set
Ink: Black Stazon, Concord Crush, Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzaz, Old Olive, Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait
Paper: Whisper White, In Color DSP pack ( level 1 hostess gift) , Concord Crush, Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait, Blushing Bride.
Extras: Basic Pearls, Basic Rhinestones, Word Window punch. Perfec t Polka dots and Elegant Lines embossing folders
The only way to get this stamp set and paper is to host a party. Call or email me and we can schedule one for you!

I brought Dasher (pg 20) along for the trip. He needed an outing since he has not been out since last year. I was fiddling around with the different elements and thought I would highlight the Vintage Wallpaper embossing by coloring the raised portions with Champagne Shimmer paint. Well, all I brought along was a sponge and I was not being as careful as I could have been so more areas were colored in then I originally planned. I ended up brushing the whole sheet and was happy with the look.
The Early Espresso cardstock on the right is bare naked and the one on the left has been covered with Champagne Shimmer Paint. Doesn't it almost look metallic? The color matches really well with the glitter brads ( neutrals). Now, I will not only be spraying the Champagne Shimmer paint but also brushing it on.
Stamps: Dasher
Ink: Early Espresso
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Brushed Gold, Deck the Halls dsp
Big Shot: Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, Scallop Square duo, Northern Frost die
DooDahs: Glitter brads, Basic rhinestones
I just sent out Week 2 of the 12 Weeks of Christmas. Did you like it? If you are not on my email list you can sign up in the upper right hand corner so you don't miss anymore of the 12 Weeks of Christmas ideas!
While on my last trip I found that I needed to change my mind set and forget about all the goodies i could have used on my project and focus on what i did have. Hmmm, I am sure there is a lesson in there somewhere. Anyway, while I was making this card I yearned for some Dazzling Diamonds glitter and could not believe i did not pack any. I know, I know what was I thinking? So, this card though it could use some glittery goodness is for my non glitter loving friends ( you know who you are so i won't mention names!)
Stamps: Gifts of Christmas
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Paper: Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Soft Suede, Always Artichoke, Deck the Halls dsp
Big Shot: Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, Scallop Square duo
DooDahs: Cherry Cobbler seam binding and Basic Rhinestones (you know I would have some kind of bling!)
I cheated a little when I packed. I chose one embossing folder and embossed each color of cardstock I brought on the road. I also cut out some scallop squares from the Scallop Square duo Bigz die. In this sample I pieced two of the scallop squares together to make a rectangle scallop to frame my main image. Tricky huh? I did not bring any punches with me due to the weight and also because i could not decide on which ones to take. This is a quick card to make and I hope you like it!
Have you checked out the Clearance Rack on my website? Hurry go and check it out. There are some amazing buys on the "shelves" right now. Like any clearance the quantities are limited so it is first come first served! You will need to order online through my store.
I will be back later today with another Stamping on the Go project but i wanted you to know about the Clearance Rack deals!
