Spice Cake Butterflies

Here's a super quick and easy card for you.  It uses some of my favorite things like the Spice Cake DSP from the Holiday mini and the Beautiful Wings embosslit.  What took me the longest time was deciding which side of the DSP to show off!.

Spice Cake Butterflies
Easy peasey, right?  Here's what it takes to make this card.

Supplies:
Stamps: Delightful Dozen
Ink:  Soft Suede
Paper: Very Vanilla, Pool Party, Soft Suede, Spice Cake DSP
Big Shot:  Beautiful Wings embosslit, Square Lattice TIEF
Punches:  Scallop Edge
Extras:  Basic Pearls, Pool Party 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon

Let me tell you about the Delightful Dozen stamp set.  This is another very versatile, cover all the bases word set.   Here is what it looks like.

Delightful dozenIt can also be viewed on page 167 of the Idea Book and Catalog.  Have a fantastic day and be sure to stamp something cute and tell me about it!

Last Bit of Summer

It is gray and rainy here today and it makes me wonder if we are skipping fall and  heading straight into winter.  I hope not.  I know it is coming soon enough and just a few (hopefully more) days of blue skies would be so appreciated before the rain starts in.  There isn't much I can do about the rain but I can make something sunny and bright.

Daffodil triple layer punch flower 3x3No stamps or ink were used just punches, paper and a little bit of bling.

Paper: Brights Collection Paper Stacks, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Basic Black, Lucky Limeade
Punches: Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer, Bird Bulider, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack
Extras: Basic Rhinestones, White Baker's Twine, Clear Rhinestone Brads, Simply Scored

I made a matching envelope using the Simply Scored-love that tool!  I jazzed up the envelope closure just to make it a little more fun.

One of the punches I used is the Blossom Bouquet Triple layer punch.  Here's a little video if this type of punch is new to you.

Hope your day is a sunny one!  If you need some bright and happy stamping products you know what to do or at least I hope you do,  click here!

Grateful Sunflower

Happy First Day of Fall!  It is officially time to get some Autumn decorating going around the house.   I have this big glass pumpkin that comes out every year and I fill it with candy.  This year I am going to try and resist filling it with candy  until a few days before Halloween so  I won't have all that sugary, chocolately  temptation around.  Just maybe this year I won't have to make another candy run to refill the pumpkin!  I suspect that this year in our new neighborhood we will have a LOT of trick or treaters.

Here's a fallish card to welcome in Autumn!

Grateful Sunflower
To be honest I am not quite sure about this card.  I almost think it needs more but cannot quite figure out what.    Hmmm... If you have some ideas let me know.  Here's what I used to make this card.
Stamps: Sunflower and Always Thankful
Ink: White Craft Stampin' pad, Early Espresso, Daffodil Delight, Poppy Parade
Paper: Whisper White, Early Espresso
Ribbon: 3/8" Quilted Early Espresso Satin Ribbon
Extras:  White Embossing powder, sponges, Gold Glow Smooch Spritz, Log Cabin Smooch Spritz, Champagne Mist Shimmer paint
(items bolded and italicized are in the Holiday Mini )

I am grateful that you stopped by today and if you need any stamping supplies you know where to go right (my online store ) ?   Hope to stamp with you soon!

Too Many Butterflies?

Today I have a quick and easy card to share with you.  I had these strips of Berry Blossoms DSP and wanted to find a use for them.  Here's what I came up with.

Butterflies and Berry Blossom

I added a bunch of butterflies which is so easy to do since the Beautiful Wings Embosslit cuts out 5 different sizes and styles of butterflies with just one pass through in the Big Shot.  The beauty of an Embosslit is that it not only cuts the image but embosses it too!  If you don't have this embosslit I would encourage you to quickly head over and order it!  It is definitely a must own!

Supplies
Stamps:
 Friendly Phrases
Ink: Early Espresso
Paper: Early Espresso, Whisper White, Lucky Limeade. Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder and Berry Blossom DSP
Big Shot: Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Perfect Polka Dot TIEF
Extras: Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots

I had some extra DSP strips and Butterflies so I decorated the inside too!

Thanks for checking in with me.  I am spending some quality time in the stamp room today so I will have more to share with you so stop by again soon!

More Leaves on a Tree

Here's another card using my favorite  (for the moment!) stamp sets, Gently Falling and Leaves on a Tree.

I am busily cutting ribbon, (the ribbon shares should be going out tomorrow), working on a class kit ( I had hoped it would have been done by now but I ran into some technical difficulties, bear with me!)and preparing for the 12 Weeks of Christmas emails.  If you would like to receive a weekly email for the 12 Weeks before Christmas that will feature different card  gift, and decorating ideas be sure to sign up to be on my mailing list.  It is easy just go to the upper left hand corner of the blog and it will guide you through the process of joining my email list.   These ideas will not be featured on myblog you have to be on my mailing list to receive them.

I See You!

Sorry for the lack of posts these past few days.  We took a mini getaway to the Oregon Coast.  We had one glorious day with sunshine and blue skies.   It was so beautiful and we went for a long walk on the beach.  It truly did this island girl good to see the Pacific Ocean and hear the waves.   The next day was a totally different story.  It was rainy, windy and gray.  Oh well, it is still beautiful just not as pleasant to be out and about.

I am starting to get in the fall frame of mind.  Here's a little treat box with a little surprise.

I See You Candy box
Are you ready for the surprise?  Here's looking at you!

Closeup i see you

I found these eyes at the store and I knew I needed to find a way to package them for a fun trick or treat surprise.   Be on the lookout for more eyes since I bought a bagful!

Here's what I used to make this little treat box.
Stamps:  Wicked Cool, Delightful Dozen,  Tiny Tags
Ink:  Black Stazon, Basic Gray, Pumpkin Pie
Paper:  Groom DSP(sorry this is retired. It was mixed in with my Black cardstock), Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie
Big Shot: Candy Wrapper die, Scallop Square Duo, Peekaboo Frames
Punches: 1" Square punch, Jewelry Tag
Ribbon:  Peach Parfait 1/2" Stitched Poly ribbon

I know  I am going to really enjoy using the new Peekaboo frame die.  Stay tuned for more ideas!  If you want to make some of these fun treat holders and need some supplies,  you can shop online in the comfort of your own home   here.  Have a great one and stamp with you soon!

Spice Cake Patchwork

Here's a quick and easy card using the Spice Cake DSP.  I think this is such a lovely pack of paper and the addition of Pool Party is such a perfect pop of color!

Spice Cake quilt

Here's what I used:

Stamps:  Sweetly Said
Ink: Soft Suede
Paper:  Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Pool Party, Spice Cake DSP
Punches: Postage Stamp
Big Shot: Stripes TIEF
Ribbon:  Soft Suede 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain

Are you thinking that sure does not look like a 1 1/4" wide ribbon?  Well , it a started out at 1 1/4" but it is now about 5/8".   I cut the ribbon down and to prevent the raw edge from fraying I singed the side of the ribbon.   I used a candle and just barely kissed the raw edges with the flame.  I totally recommend doing this over the kitchen sink just to be safe.  I was able to hide most of the area where i did more than "kiss" the ribbon with the flame.  It is a cool trick and makes the wide ribbon even more versatile.

Have wonderful "rest of the" week and if you need to order any crafting supplies you know where to go (in case you don't know click here)!   Thanks to all of you who have placed orders with me, I appreciate it more than you know!

Snow Burst meets Sahara Sand

Why don't I use Sahara Sand more?  It is such a great neutral color and I think of it as a chameleon, changing to match what is around it.  I wanted to use my new Snow Burst TIEF so on this card the snow is on the sand, how often does that happen?

Sahara Sand Snow much fun
I love the  Early Espresso with white polka dots DSP.  Wondering what pack it is from?  Berry Blossoms!  Right before making this card I was working on cards using the  Berry Blossom DSP. Another happy accident resulting from the "mess" on the desk!

Here's what i used:

StampsSnow Much Fun and Petite Pairs
Ink: Black Stazon, Watercolor Crayons
Paper: Sahara Sand, Real Red, Whisper White, Berry Blossom DSP
Big Shot: Tasteful Trim, Snow Burst TIEF
Punches: Scallop Oval, Large Oval
Extras: Dazzling Details and Real Red Satin ribbon

Here's the inside of the card.

Inside of sahara sand snow much fun
Here's a little secret.  Underneath the scallop oval is a very crookedly stamped image.  Don't ever take apart my cards.  You will find all kinds of "oops" hidden behind punches, ribbons, and well you get the idea!

Thanks for checking in with me today.  We are expecting a hot day (for Western WA).  It is kind of crazy that the past week has been the warmest week  all summer.  If you need any "cool "supplies head on over to my Online Store.  I appreciate your business and support!

A Great Stamper and I'm Not Lion!

Mary easy Events card

The cute card above was stamped by Mary Ammar.  I have known Mary for a while now and she is a wonderful person and a GREAT Stamper.   We are in a monthly swap and because it is a small swap I can usually guess who stamped which card.  It is a little game I play as I go through the cards.   This card would be a wonderful card to do as a make and take at a stamp party or class.

I liked this card so much I decided to CASE (Copy and Slightly Edit, in this case very slightly) the card and use it for another swap.  The layout is a great one and you can use it with lots of different sets.

Inder the Big Top Daffodil Delight

I  did not change much  except I added a little trim from the Tasteful Trim die and a little texture from my favorite TIEF, Perfect Polka Dots.  You know I love this folder so much that I have a backup of this folder in case anything happens to the one I am using.  Kind of scary huh?

Thanks Mary for the great card and inspiration!  Let me know if you would like to make this card at your next stamping party.  I would love to stamp with you!
