Fabulous Florets in Vellum

This week I seem to be revisiting stamp sets that I haven't used in a while.  Today's set, Fabulous Florets is one that I have used a lot in the past.  I really like the Adorning Accents Edgelit dies. Seriously, what is there not to like?   I like to use them at an angle.  Beside liking the look of that  an added bonus is that i do not have to worry about being straight or even.

Vellum fabulous florets

I embossed the flower on Cardstock Vellum and then colored the flowers with reinkers and an Aqua Painter.

Stamps: Fabulous Florets, Friendly Phrases
Ink: Whisper White Craft ink, Early Espresso, Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink,  Rose Red
Paper: Crumb Cake, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, Lucky Limeade, Cardstock Vellum
Big Shot: Perfect Polka Dot TIEF,  Adorning Accents Edgelit die , Beautiful Wings Embosslit

Creative Elements in Black and White

Hope your Valentine's Day was a wonderful one!  We celebrated with take out!  Actually we went out to a very nice dinner on Saturday in the city and planned to have a special meal at home last night.  Our plans had to be changed which was okay with me since a break from cooking is always a treat.

Here's a quick and easy card using the Creative Elements stamp set.  This is one of those sets that I purchased and  haven't inked up very much.  I hate when I do that so I am determined to use it.

Creative elements black and white

Hope you like it!

The Bordering on Romance Bird

I wanted the Elegant Bird die since I saw her in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  Now that I have the die  what to do with her?  Hmmm...I started thinking about those animal sculptures that are painted and decorated.   I remembering seeing Painted Pigs in Seattle and Painted Cows in Chicago so why not a stamped bird?

Bordering bird
So here is the Elegant Bird decked out in the flowers from the Bordering on Romance stamp set.   I wish I could think of a clever name for her.

Stamps: Bordering on Bordering Romance,  Thank You Kindly
Ink: Black Stazon, Blushing Bride, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, Island Indigo
Paper: Whisper White, Lucky Limeade, 2011-2013  In Color DSP stack, 20120-2012  In Color DSP stack

Fresh Vintage Pocket Card

Have I already told you how much I love the Fresh Vintage stamp set and the Everyday Enchantment DSP?  Well if I haven't, I have now.  This paper is probably one of my all time favorite papers.  I use it a lot and it is a good thing I know how to get more for FREE!  Yes, it is a Sale-A-Bration choice and I have certainly been choosing it.

Pocket card fresh Vintage

Isn't it just yummy with the Fresh Vintage stamp set?  I also used the Labels Collection Framelits for the big label and also the little label.

Closeup fresh vintage pocket card

I usually use the Round Tab punch but the little label framelit is so cute and now all the labels coordinate.

Inside fresh vintage pocket card
This is the what the inside card looks like.  I thought this sentiment from the Word Play set really worked well with the Dream from the Loving Thoughts set.

Stamps: Fresh Vintage, Loving Thoughts, Word Play
Ink: Pear Pizzaz, Poppy Parade, Calypso Coral, Soft Suede
Paper: Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzaz, Everyday Enchantment DSP
Big Shot: Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Labels Collection Framelits
Punch: 2 1/2" Circle
Extras:  Basic Rhinestones, Blender pen

Are you wondering where I used the Blender pen?  I inked up the  image in Pear Pizzaz ink and then used the blender pen to take off the ink from the flowers.   I then use the markers to color in the flowers.   It is a little fussy but I find it easier to do this then to use markers to color in the whole image.

In a little bit some of the women from my group will be coming over to do a Shoebox swap.  This means everyone brings a project for everyone else to make.  I cannot wait to see what everybody brings for us to make.  It is always so fun to spend time together stamping, sharing and this time a salad bar too!  Have a fabulous Saturday!

The Elegant Bird die and More of February 12 in 12s

I told you a little about my February 12 in 12 list and today I will tell you about another one.  Send Valentine's cards.  Should be easy right?   Yes, it should be until it dawned on me that it is only a few days away.  EEK!   So I have been making an even simpler version of the card I showed you on Tuesday.   Hard to believe I could make it even simpler huh?

Lots of elegant birds
I started out using the Mocha Morning DSP and then went on to the Flirtatious DSP.   Once I started making these cards I got a little carried away and am now finishing up the 30th one.

Here's the inside of the card.
Inside of elegant bird valentineNow I need to get writing and get them in the mail.   Once I do that i will have completed 4 out of the 12 on my list.  Good thing it is a leap year and there are 29 days  this month!

Elegant Bird Valentine

It always seems to happen this way.  I plan a day of stamping and nothing happens, no inspiration, no  nothing.   I know tomorrow when I have a busier day planned I will be itching to get into my stamp room.    It is crazy.  This is about all I could come up with and it could not get any simpler.

Elegant bird die with heartI was going to send this to the Boy but before I do I am going to cut a new wing for this bird.   Maybe I am being silly but I just think  it would be better with another wing.

I am going out for a slow walk.  As predicted I am a little sore.  Actually I feel great as long as I don't move.  Maybe after my slow walk I will  be a little more inspired.   Hope you are having a wonderfully creative day!

Mixed Bunch and the Lattice die

This morning in an effort to work on my 12 in 12 list for February I went to an exercise class at the gym.  Classes work a lot better for me since I hate leaving in the middle of class so I force myself to stay for the whole thing.   There is no doubt in my mind that I will be hurting in the morning.   Sometimes i wonder about the wisdom of this 12 in 12 list!

I am still stamping with the Mixed Bunch set.  It is definitely on my love it list.

Mixed Bunch with lattice
Pretty simple and don't you just love the lattice die?  One of my downline, who will remain nameless told me that she just does not get the lattice die.  I plan to overwhelm her with lattice die cards until she says "Auntie".    I liked the way this looked but it did feel like it was missing something so....

Mixed Bunch with lattice&pearls

I added a few more pearls.  What do you think?  Was it a good addition or is there something else I should consider doing?  Let me know what you think.

Supplies:
Stamps: Mixed Bunch
Ink: Black Craft Ink
Paper: Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Pool Party, First Edition Specialty DSP
Big Shot: Lattice die
Punch: Blossom punch
Extras: Pool Party 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon, Basic Pearls, Large Basic Pearls

Be back tomorrow since on my February 12 in 12 list is to blog everyday.  I have already fallen behind on that one so one of these days I will have to do a Two-A-Day.   I have to tell you that I have got to do better with the things I put on my 12 in 12 list.  Why didn't I include things like eat some fantastic chocolate at least 3 times a week?  Now there's something I would have been able to accomplish!

Mixed Bunch and Blossom Builders

This month I am trying a 12 in 12 list.  I made a list of 12 things I am going to do this month and one of them is to make a scrapbook page or 2.  Modest goal and one I can accomplish.  I kind of cheated since this page was one of the make and takes from Leadership.  I finished this one at home so I am counting it for my 12 in 12 February list.

Leadership 12 8x8

This is one of my favorite pictures of the Boy and my Auntie Gladys.  She  was a beautiful  and kind person.  Today is her birthday and I am feeling a little sad.  She passed away in December and I am so thankful that I got to see her the day before.   She used to always say, "that's wonderful!" and it is something we picked up and whenever we say it to each other it makes us smile and  remember Auntie G.  So today in honor of her tell someone "that's wonderful!"  and mean it and it will make you both smile.

More Thank Goodness for Swaps

I have a 3 more swap cards to share with you from the Stamp Ladies swap.

SL1-12 swap Nancy
This lovely card was stamped by Nancy Dunham.  She  used some of my favorite things from the Occasions Mini Catalog: Mixed Bunch stamp set and the Paper Doily die.  Did you see the cute little brad?  Doesn't it match so perfectly?   That little brad is part of the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon and Brad pack and is one of the things you can get FREE during Sale-A-Bration when you place a $50 order.

SL1-12 swap LaureneThis cute card was stamped by Laurene Ako.  She is a new member of the Stamp Ladies team.  I am so proud of her for jumping and participating in the swap.  Didn't she do a great job?  Love the way she used the ribbon from the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon and Brad pack to make a frame.  Very clever!

SLswap 1-12 mixed bunchHere's my swap card.  Yes, I am kind of fixated with the Mixed Bunch stamp set.  I just love that set and punch.  The colors I used are Blushing Bride and Soft Suede and see the pearl it is also an offering in the Occasions Mini Catalog(page 26).   I took the connected pearls from the Basic Pearls and attached them around the large pearl.

If you ever thought you might like to be a Stampin' Up demonstrator now is the time to really give it some serious consideration.  During Sale-A-Bration you can become a demonstrator for $125.   I would love to talk with you about it.
