Sneak Peek: Summer Smooches Decor Stencil

During the month of April you will be able to order some great products from the upcoming 2012-2013  catalog.  There are 9 items being offered and 2 of them will only be available during the month of April.  The 2 items are the Summer Smooches Decor Stencil and the Summer Smooches Designer Brads.   Today I want to share with you the first thing I made using the Summer Smooches stencil.

Blossom stencil in black white

One of the cool things is that the stencil comes with both the stencil and the cut out design-bonus! This makes so much sense to me and it makes it more versatile.  For the today's sample I used the cut out design piece.  I used a repositionable adhesive that was made for stencils to secure the stencil to the First Edition DSP.  I used a sponge and Basic Gray ink and sponged around the stencil.  Super simple and quick card.  It took way longer to get a picture taken of the card.

Stamps: Elementary Elegance (available ONLY during Sale-A-Bratiion)
Ink: Basic Gray, Black Stazon
Paper: Very Vanilla, Baisc Black, First Edition DSP
Punches: Curly Label
Extras: Summer Smooches Decor Stencil, Black Satin ribbon, Rhinestones, Red Sharpie

Remember to place your Sale-A-Bration order today!

Another Bright Blossoms Sneak Peek

Just a couple more days till you can order the Bright Blossom stamp set and all those fun coordinating products in the Summer Smooches Suite.  Today I was getting those horrible hoarding feelings again about the Summer Smooches DSP.  I love the colors and patterns in this paper pack so happy and bright and perfect to mix and match.

I  have been feeling very guilty about not getting the March birthday cards out in the mail.  In fact today is a dear friend, Cindy's birthday and I have not sent out her card yet.  I am so sorry but even though I am late I will get those cards in the mail.  Today's card is for all those March birthday people!

Manhattan Flower

Remember when the Manhattan Flower TIEF  debuted?  It was a must have and well I think it still is but  I admit I have not pulled it out in a while.  I was looking for a set that I could use to practice my coloring skills and  thought it would be  perfect.  Coloring is definitely not one of my strengths and I hope with more practice I won't shy away from stamp sets that require coloring.

I even used the Manhattan TIEF in the inside of the card.

Flowerpot Friday

I hope you are not sick of the little chick.  I filmed a quick video on how to make the flower pot from this post.

After filming the video I started thinking about how I could use the little chick for place cards for Easter dinner.  Here's what I came up with.

Mini chicken in a pot

Instead of the "Happy Easter"  you could write a name.  Wouldn't this be so cute at each person's place setting?  Here are the measurements so you can make these mini versions.

1. Cut a piece of Cajun Craze card stock 2 1/2" x 5 1/2".

2. Score at 1/2", 2 1/2", 3", 3 1/2".

3. Fold at the 3" score line and measure in 3/8" from either end.

4. Cut from the fold line to the 1/2" score line on both sides.

5.  Fold the bottom folds like a "W" and fold the 1/2" flap down.

6. Wrap ribbon around the lip and the back of the pot and tie a bow.  Insert chick and attach it to the pot with a glue dot.

7. Cut a 1/8" strip of Chocolate Chip card stock and attach a flag to it.  Attach the strip to the chick.

Isn't it strange how one thing leads to another?  Well then I thought why not make a flowerpot card that stands up on its own?

Here are the measurements to make a stand up flowerpot card.

1. Cut a piece of Cajun Craze card stock 9 1/2" x 4 1/4".

2. Score at 1",  4 1/2",  5 1/4",  6".

3. Fold  card at 5 1/4" score line.  Measure in 3/4". Repeat on the other side.

4. Cut from the foldine to the 1" score line.  Do not cut the 1" lip.

5. Fold score lines into a "W".  Secure the opening with ribbon.

A Challenging Week

I had so much fun doing the Craft Project Central Challenge that I decided I would do another challenge.  I found this layout on Technostamper's blog and thought it looked like a fun one to do.

TSSC213I knew I wanted to use the Everyday Enchantment DSP (Sale-A-Bration) which made working on this sketch a little easier.  I plan to primarily focus on showing products from the Sale-A-Bration brochure until the end of Sale-A-Bration on March 31.

Everyday enchantment and lattice

I love the design on the Pool Party sheet in the Everyday Enchantment DSP.  It reminds me of those Aloha shirts made with the wrong side of the fabric showing.  Do you know what I mean?    Anyway, here's what I used to make this card.

Stamps: Just Believe
Ink: Soft Suede
Paper: Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Peach Parfait, Everyday Enchantment DSP
Big Shot: Lattice die, Beautiful Butterflies die
Extras: Everyday Enchantment Brad Pack

If you know of some fun challenges let me know.  Thanks for stopping by and remember to place your Sale-A-Bration order cause time is running out!
