Goodbye to Simply Soft, Mocha Morning Specialty DSP and Poppy Parade

Today is the last day to order and receive the Simply Soft hostess set.  This was probably one of my favorite sets .  Poppy Parade is an In Color and also retiring. I grew to really like this color and throw in a little Mocha Morning Specialty DSP and well you are hitting a lot of my favorites.

Here's something a little strange, I actually dreamt about making this card.  I am not one of those people who dream about stamping or scrapbooking.  I do not have a pad of paper by my bed to record the beautiful creations in my dreams. In fact the only other thing I remember from my dreams last night was I had a dream about my dishwasher not washing the dishes well.  Please don't analyze that one!  I hope that I will have more stamping dreams and less  dreams about dirty dishes.

Simply Soft in poppy paradeI pretty much told you alll I used to make this card except for the black taffeta ribbon, Dazzling Details and the watercolor paper.  It is amazing how quickly you can put a card together when the idea has been all laid out for you in your dreams.

Simply Soft poppy paradeToday is your last chance to purchase from the Retiring Stamp set list and the Retiring Accessories list.  You can shop online at my store or contact me and I can help you.  Don't wait too long and miss out!

CPC Vintage Birthday Ensemble – May Bonus Project!

Vintage and paper crafting are a hot combination right now, so why not incorporate that into a birthday celebration?  This ensemble is a great start for a special girl’s birthday.  The birthday crown would make any little (or big ) girl feel special on her big day.  There is also a Memories Book with fold out pages so each party guest can write a special note to the birthday girl.  And a birthday party just isn’t complete without party favors!  A pinwheel sets this party favor bag apart, and would entice anyone to take a peek at the goodies inside.  These handmade vintage birthday pieces will give any birthday party that extra special feel that all birthday girls deserve!

Four Frames and Elements of Style

With all the excitment of the Retiring Stamp Sets and Accesories lists and the upcoming new Stampin' Up! catalog I have neglected the stamp sets that are current and will also be in the new catalog.  Today's sample uses 2 such sets, Four Frames and Elements of Style.

Elements of Style

This card came about because I have been wanting to do some black embossing on black cardstock to create my own DSP (Designer Series Paper).  I think the effect is subtle and elegant.

Here's what I used:
Stamps: Four Frames, Elements of Style
Ink: VersaMark, Black Stazon, Pink Pirouette, Lucky Limeade, So Saffrom
Paper: Basic Black, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White
Punches: Decorative Label
Big Shot: Perfect Polka Dot TIEF
Extras: Pink Pirouette Taffeta Ribbon, Black embossing powder, Blender Pen, Dazzling Details

Thank you for stopping by and if you have any questions feel free to email me or leave me a comment.  There's just a few days left before the new catalog goes in to effect so be sure to place your order for  the retiring products you want.

Bright Blossoms and the Floral District DSP

This post is  going to be short and sweet.  I love the Floral District DSP and you are going to want to order it as soon as possible once the 2012-2013 Stampin' Up catalog goes live on June 1st.  The patterns are bright and cheery and it is a really fun set of papers that mix and match really easily.  You know there are some packs of DSP that I struggle with getting to coordinate but not the FLoral District.

Hope you think this looks happy!  Are you wondering where I got the colored rhinestones?  I colored the SU rhinestones with Sharpies, easy peasy.

Are you wondering howI made these cute little flowers?  I used the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and punched out the flower from the DSP.  It is not quite perfect so i went around the edges with a Tangerine Tango marker.

I have got to scoot!  I am off to take a friend out to lunch who received some really bad news.  If you have any questions let me know!  Hope to stamp with you soon!

CPC Tooth Fairy Door & Accessories!

For a child, losing their first tooth can be both exciting and scary!  And for the parents, it’s another passing moment that signifies that their "baby" is growing up.  This Tooth Fairy Door project is intended to help make the arrival of the Tooth Fairy enchanting and memorable for kids and their parents alike!

The Tooth Fairy door sits on the child’s nightstand, alongside the little bed and side table.  On the bed the child lays their tooth, and on the side table, they sign a "thank you" card.  When they go to sleep, the Tooth Fairy has a way to enter quietly into their room, take the tooth and the card, and in place leaves a little gift of money or a small toy.  On her way out, she leaves the door a bit ajar, so there is no mistaking that she has been there!

Something Retiring, Something Already Retired and Something New

During my recent craft room cleanup I looked through my retired stamp sets. I found some that I no longer  have to hold on to and I found some that I wanted to use right away.  Today I am using one of those stamps so forgive me but it fit today's card  I am also using more images from the Papaya Collage set and one of my favorite retiring In Colors.  Yes, I am covering the whole range in this card.

Elegant Eggplant and the Papaya Collage

Papaya Collage is a new stamp set in the 2012-13  Stampin' Up! catalog.  I wish I could have been in the room when they were discussing what to name this set of stamps.   I cannot see any relationship between a papaya and this cool collection of images.   The first image I wanted to work with is the delicate leafy image.

Papya colage leaves dream

Stamps: Papaya Collage, Loving Thoughts
Ink: Basic Black, More Mustard, Night of Navy, Elegant Eggplant
Paper: Elegant Eggplant, More Mustard, Basic Black  and Very Vanilla
Punches: Curly Label
Big Shot: Perfect Polka Dots TIEF, Beautiful Wings Embosslit
Extras: Champagne Shimmer Paint, Sponges, Black Satin ribbon, Basic Rhinestones

I mixed a few drops of the Champagne Shimmer paint with some rubbing alcohol and sprayed it over the stamped images.  The result is a light glimmery, golden sparkle that is really pretty but I am unable to capture it.  Take my word for it, it is really pretty.

Just a little stamping to finish off the inside of the card.   Have a wonderful Sunday and remember to check out all the retiring stamp sets and accesories!
