Pleasant Poppies and Marina Mist Polka Dot Parade
September 01, 2012
Hope you are enjoying your weekend. Here in the Pacific Northwest it was a beautiful day. My brother-in-law is visiting us from Florida and he always says we live in paradise. I am not sure he would feel that way if he came to visit us in January but for right now, he is right. While we waited for him to arrive I spent a little time in my stamp room. I wanted to do some coloring. It has been an intense few days and I find coloring to be relaxing and almost meditative.
I used a combination of Marina Mist and Midnight Muse to color the poppies. You see that lovely ribbon? Starting today, you get a FREE spool of 3/8" Stitched Satin ribbon with every $40 purchase. This ribbon is soft and supple and a dream to tie.
Stamps: Pleasant Poppies, Petite Pairs
Ink: VersaMark, Marina Mist, Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit, Old Olive, Sahara Sand Stampin' Write markers
Paper: Midnight Muse, Marina Mist, Whisper White, Watercolor paper, Polka Dot Parade DSP
Punches: 1 1/4" circle, 1 3/8" circle
Big Shot: Woodgrain embossing folder
Extras: Midnight Muse 3/8" Stitched Satin ribbon, Black embossing powder, heat gun, Aqua Painter
Are you wondering how I stamped just part of the stamp?
I use post it notes or scrap paper and cover up the parts of the stamp I do not want inked. I ink the part of the image I want and when I am ready to stamp i take the post it away and then stamp.
I also made this card in another color and I will post that to my Facebook page. Enjoy your weekend and if you are ready for some FREE ribbon be sure to visit my online store and place your order.
Love the poppies in blue. Guess I always go to orange in them but I really like thisv

Hi Laura! I know what you mean but every since I heard that there are blue poppies I have been fascinated. Next May when they are in bloom you need to come and see them at the Weyerhauser campus in Federal Way.
