Rain or Shine I'm Up in the Air Over You!

It has definitely been more rain than shine around here, not complaining just saying.    Good thing I have lots of projects to complete to keep me happy and busy inside.

Rain or Shine red Black white

Stamps: Rain or Shine, Up, Up, and Away
Ink: Real Red, Black Stazon
Paper: Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White, Red Glimmer paper
Big Shot:   Cloudy Day folder, red heart from the Happy Whale Clearlits Die Window Frames Collection (still available to purchase it is on the Carryover list, page 36 of the Occasions catalog)  Matting measurements for the Window Frame framelits here

Rain or Shine red Black white close up

Pretty quick and simple card.  I think that the Rain or Shine set pairs perfectly with the Up, Up and Away set.   I used the combination in a previous post HERE.    Just think if you purchase both sets you will be pretty close to earning a FREE Sale-A-Bration choice!

Have a wonderfully creative day and hope to stamp with you soon!

By the Tide

Are you like me and always in need of manly cards?  If the answer is yes then let me introduce you to  By the Tide set in the Occasions Catalog.    The lovely coral image caught my eye and since it would work beautifully for  masculine cards I decided to give it a try.

By the Tide

I started off with a 1/2 sheet of Whisper White card stock and sponged on  lots of colors.  I will tell you that it usually looks pretty awful at this point but once I started stamping the fish, coral and script, things started to look up.   I stamped some of the coral in the Illuminate Glimmer Watermark pad and I love the look.  I hope you can see a little of the shimmer in this picture.  The Illuminate Glimmer Watermark pad made its debut in the Holiday Catalog but has been carried over and can still be ordered (see page 36 of the Occasions catalog).

By the Tide side

The hardest part was trying to figure out a layout.  Fortunately I had this card  sitting on my craft table and thought it just might  work.

By the Tide openStamps: By the Tide, Just Believe
Ink: Pool Party, Tempting Turquoise, More Mustard, Lucky Limeade, Riding Hood Red, Early Espresso, Illuminate Glimmer Watermark pad
Paper: Early Espresso, Pool Party, Whisper White
Extras: Stampin Sponges

Have a wonderfully creative day!

Woo Hoo Single Stamps are Back!

Single stamps are back in the house!!  There are 2 new Assortments and dare I say these are the best!  Yes, I had to order a few and already know I will be wanting more cause these are so fun and right on trend.  These 2 Assortments will be available until March 31, 2013.  The first one I had to have was Woo Hoo!  which is in Assortment 4.

This stamp is perfect for the chalkboard technique which is so popular!  I have been trying to figure out how to add color to this technique and  this is what I came up with.

WooHoo Single stamps chalkboard color

What do you think?  Isn't it a great image?   Are you wondering what I used to color the "chalkboard"?  I colored it using Watercolor Crayons.  No water, just straight Watercolor Crayons.  I am thrilled.    I used Pacific Point, Rich Razzleberry, Regal Rose , and Tempting Turquoise crayons.

Bitty Butterfly Revisited

Happy first day of  Sale-A-Bration!  I am just doing a quick post to remind you that it is the first day to start Sale-A-Brating!  What does that mean?  When you place a $50 merchandise order with Stampin' Up! you will be able to choose from 19 different free proucts as a gift.  Go here to see the Sale-A-Bration  choices.

I should show you a project using a SAB (Sale-A-Bration) choice but since I am already running behind schedule  I am going to share with you a little revision I made to a card I previously posted.

Oh,hello calypso

I added one of the new flower trim from the Occasions catalog.   To color the flower i used the brush end of a Calypso Coral marker and just colored around the edges of the flower.   Here's the original card.

Have a great day and if you do not have a Sale-A-Bration or Occasions catalog please let me know and I will get one out to you!

Button Buddies Cherry Hearts

Today we are mixing a little old, Button Buddies stamp set and a little new, Hearts a Flutter stamp set and framelits and I am pretty tickled with the results.  There is only one problem.  I could not decide on  which layot I liked best so i am going to show you all three.

Button buddies cherry hearts1

Here we have a little side banner action.  Don't you  love the cherry hearts?  Both of the hearts were stamped in Real Red ink and the images are from the Hearts a Flutter stamp set.  The cherry stem was colored in with Gumball Green and Soft Suede Stampin Write Markers.

Button Buddies cherry hearts 2

Here the banner was placed in middle with the cherries layered on the Real Red Polka Dots from the Polka Dot Parade DSP.

Button Buddies cherry hearts 3

So, right about now you are wondering why didn't I just make all three cards.   Here's the sad truth....I only had that one little strip left of the Real Red Polka Dot Parade DSP!   I have two open packs of Polka Dot Parade DSP and just that one little strip of the Real Red.  I guess it is plain to see what colors I like to work with.  I am going to try and exercise some willpower and not order more of the Polka Dot Parade DSP until I use up some of the other colors.  We shall see how long I can stand it.

Are you wondering which layout I decided to commit to with my last little bit of Real Red Polka Dots?  Which one do you like best?  I am posting the finished card to my Facebook page.  I am working on posting more often to my page so click on over and see the finished card and let me know if I made the right choice.

the CASE of the Swallowtail

The Swallowtail stamp is BIG stamp,  background stamp size big!  It is another stamp I could not resist.  To start the creative process off I CASED(copy and share everything) the sample that's in the Occasions catalog.  I added just a few extra thing to change it up ever so slightly.

Swallowtail Summer starfruit

Stamps: Swallowtail, Loving Thoughts
Ink: VersaMark
Paper: Very Vanilla, Pool Party, Summer Starfruit
Extras: Pool Party Embossing powder, Enbossing Buddy, Pool Party ribbon(Sycamore Street ribbon and button pack), Champagne Mist Shimmer paint, Stampin Spritzer, Aqua Painter

On page 19 of the Occasions catalog there are directions on how to make the card.  I loved painting on the Champagne Mist to the embossed butterfly image.  The butterfly just glows!  I also spritzed the Champagne Mist/alcohol solution all over the Summer Starfruit card stock and it makes for a beautiful shimmery image.

I will be sharing more of the Swallowtail stamp in the coming weeks.   It is a beautiful inage and am looking forward to trying different coloring techniques on it.
