Beyond Plaid and the Stippled Blossoms
February 03, 2013
Yes, you read that correctly Beyond Plaid and Stippled Blossoms! Beyond Plaid is a new set in the Occasions catalog and it felt like a set that would be very useful and fun to work with but to be honest I was not sure what I was going to do with it. It works wonderfully as a shadow stamp which I did on this card but what else?
It finally dawned on me that I could use it to mimic Designer paper! Doesn’t it look like I used a Designer Series Paper (DSP) on the bottom part of the card? I added the Black Taffeta ribbon and used the Perfect Polka Dots folder on just the top half to help with the illusion. What do you think did I pull it off?
Supplies
Stamps: Beyond Plaid, Stippled Blossoms, Beautiful Birthday
Ink: Black Stazon, Real Red, Old Olive
Big Shot: Perfect Polka Dots folder
Extras: Black Taffeta Ribbon, Stamp--a- ma- jig
I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the herringbone stamp. I know it is the tool we love to hate but it is invaluable sometimes. In case you are wondering it is on page 7 of the big Idea Book and Catalog. I also want to point out the Beautiful Birthday stamp. It is a single stamp and it can be found on page 44 of the big Idea Book and Catalog. I would love a whole set of sentiments with this font.
There will be more ideas using the Beyond Plaid set coming soon. I am pretty excited about the possibilities with this set. If you would like your own Beyond Plaid stamp set or any of the products I used be sure to go to my online store or contact me and I would be happy to help you. Remember it is Sale-A-Bration time and I have a little ordering bonus for you too.
Have a wonderfully creative day and hope to stamp with you soon!

Yes, you pulled it off I would not have known if you didn't tell! I like that you say the stamp-a-majig is what we love to hate! Honestly, it's the best and so easy once you play with it and figure it out :) Now I want that set - sigh....

I think the Beyond Plaid stamp set is so intriguing and I love the cards you've posted showcasing its versatility ... you certainly pulled off this dsp look-alike using the herringbone image! What a beautiful card! Thank you for the inspiration .... hope you'll be sharing more creations with this set!
