Backyard Basics in Wisteria Wonder

I seem to be using the same sets over and over again.  You must think I have only 3 sets.  I really do have others but I seem to be in a flowery mood and am happily rotating between Backyard Basics, Regarding Dahlias and Flower Shop.  Bear with me, I am sure I will be moving on to other sets that I own soon.  The other thing I noticed is that I rarely ever use Wisteria Wonder, not sure why but it just is not a color that I pull out often.   So today I will share something familiar (Backyard Basics) and something not so familiar (Wiateria Wonder).

Regarding Dahlias in Pool Party

I am back!  Did you think I decided to stay in Utah and wait until it was time for the 2014 Stampin' Up! Convention?   I did stay a few days after convention to do some touristing around Utah.  We went to Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, Kodachrome Basin, Capitol Reef, and then back to Salt Lake City.  We decided that it was time to find out what lay outside of the Convention Center.  It was an amazing trip full of incredible scenery, good company, and a new appreciation for the state of Utah.   One of these days I will share with you the flash flood and some of the animals we saw including a very big creep crawly tarantula.

I finally got back into the stamp room today.  I tried to get stamping earlier but the need to organize all my new goodies from Convention took over and no real stamping was done.   I found some dahlias I had embossed but not colored and used that for my starting point.  Even though I was inspired and treated to so much eye candy during Convention I still found it hard to get started.  Weird huh?

Regarding Dahlias in pool Party
Stamps: Regarding Dahlias and Million & One
Ink:  Island Indigo, Pacific Point, Pool Party
Paper: Whisper White, Island Indigo, Pool Party Core'dinations Card Stock, Vellum Card Stock, Shimmery White Card Stock
Big Shot: Ovals Collection, Delicate Designs folder, Beautiful Wings Embosslit
Extras: White Organza Ribbon, Basic Rhinestones, Stampin' Sanding  Block, Aqua Painter, White Embossin Powder, Heat Tool

Regarding Dahlias in Pool party closeDid you know that you can get the Core'dinations Card Stock in every color?   You can get a pack for each color collection which has 4 sheets of every color in that collection.  I love that it is sandable and in this card I sanded the embossing to make it more noticeable.  There is also a slight texture to the card stock which is just another fun option.

Regarding Dahlias in Pool Party sideThere are so many fun things coming up and announcements too and I will definitely be sharing them with you but this post is way too long as it is so I will save them for another day.

If you have any questions or need to some new crafting supplies feel free to contact me, cause I am back!

Mixed Bunch and Feels Good

By the time you read this I will be in Salt Lake City anxiously awaiting the start of the Stampin' Up! Convention.

Mixed Bunch top 3 card march 13

All the stress of preparing for the event will be forgotten and replaced by feeling of excitement and happiness.  Friendships will be rekindled and new ones made.  I will be surrounded by so much creative energy and I plan to soak it all in.  Wouldn't it be great to have a creativity reservoir?  I plan to post an occasional update to my Facebook page  https://www.facebook.com/astheinkdries.  Most of all I just want to bask in the comraderie and energy of being surrounded by other people who love working with their hands and making stuff with stamps, ink and paper. Sounds pretty awesome, right?  A little part of me will have wished that I made more swaps or did more of whatever but I am going to really try and just focus on being there and soaking it all in.   Wish me luck.

Flower Shop and Chalk Talk

Flower Shop window card

In a few short days I will be heading to the Stampin' Up! Convention.   This means the next few days will be very busy trying to get ready to go.  I am scheduling some posts to go up while I am gone and I want to make some  cards to trade at Convention.   So far I am doing way better on the scheduling of posts.  My swap card total to date is zero!  I do have a plan and hopefully if all goes according to my plan I will have a positive number to report soon.
