I Miss You Backyard Basics

Yes, I am back with another sample using the Backyard Basics bundle(132728).    I keep returning to the great images to color and the ease of cutting them out with the matching framelits.

The card was looking a little drab so I decided to bling up the butterflies.  Here's what I did.  I enbossed the image with white embossing powder and then cut it out using the Backyard Basics framelits.  I added color to the butterfly by coloring  the back of the image with markers.  I still wanted more glitz so I embossed the entire front of the butterfly with VersaMark and Iridescent Ice embossing powder.

You need to know that you can now get the New Colors Markers individually until October 31.  This is perfect for those of you who have markers for some of the colors already.  Here are the order numbers:

Let's Play Dress Up tutorial

Dress Up 1

Yesterday I shared with you this cute little dress candy holder made from the Dress Up framelits( 130101).   Here's  a quick tutorial on how I made the  candy box.  This little box fits 2 Dove chocolates perfectly.

Punch out  a 2-3/8" circle ( 118874) and score as shown in the picture.  The dotted lines are score line and the solid lines are cut lines.

Glue the little corner tabs to the inside as shown below.

Repeat on all four corners and you will have made a box to hold 2 Dove chocolates.

Attach the bottom edges of the dress cut from the Dress Up framelit to the box.  Repeat on the other side.  Using glue dots or Multipurpose liquid glue attach the 2 dresses at the shoulder.

Isn't it fun playing Dress Up with the Dress Up framelits from Stampin' Up!?

Let's Play Dress Up

Dress by Elise

Isn't this so sweet?  A few weeks ago I met up with fellow SU demonstrator Elise for coffee and this is what she brought me.  I love it and knew it would make a perfect addition to the In Color class I taught a few weeks ago.  Before I show you what we made in class here is the side videw of Elise's dress.

Dress by Elise side

There was (emphasis on was) a piece of candy that came in the box but it is long gone. Wouldn't this make the best favors for a shower, birthday party, heck just about any get together would be made cuter with a cute dress and some chocolate.

Dress Up 1

Here's the simplified version we made in class.  Don't you just love the new Ruffle Stretch Trim (page 173)?   On one I also added the Delicate Details Lace Tape (page 171 130966).

Dress Up 2 side

Since this class was all about the In Colors I went candy shopping with that in mind and found a pretty perfect match to Coastal Cabana  in a new Dove chocolate flavor, mint & dark chocolate swirl.   Do you buy candy based on the color of the wrapping?  I had to laugh at myself as I worked my way down the candy aisle looking for candy based on the color of the wrapper.  Believe me I was so happy to find this one and it is delicious on top of being the right color.

Are you wondering how I made the box to hold the candy?  I am working on a tutorial and will post it tomorrow.   Have a great one and get ready to play more dress up tomorrow!
