Manly Magnificent Maple

I love this single stamp, Magnificent Maple.  It is a gorgeous detailed image and the first one that came to mind when I found some card parts while I was re-organizing my room .  The card parts I found where originally cut to make  this  card.

Magnificent Maple Crusehd Curry

This was so fun to make.   It is pretty easy and I have a couple of tips to share with you.

Sharons' Stamping Tip # 1  Are you wondering what DSP I used?  The DSP (Designer Series Paper) is the Neutrals Paper Stack on page 152.   I used a sponge and inked on some Baked Brown Sugar ink to cover up the white on the DSP.   Kinda fun huh?   Just a little sponging makes a big  difference.

Sharon's Stamping Tip # 2  I colored the leaf using a cotton swab inked up in some fall colors(see the list below) and just randomly filled in the image.  It was a  quick way to add some color and achieve the look of a fall leaf.

Halloween Hello and the Six-Sided Sampler

I am on a mission to ink up all the stamp sets I purchased from the Annual  and Holiday catalog.  I hate it when I neglect my stamp sets!  They all deserved to be inked and enjoyed.

Halloween Hello Six Sided Sampler

I felt so smart when I combined the Halloween Hello and the Six-Sided Sampler set.  They work so well together and I love the little background from the Six-Sided Sampler and how it add so much.   I think they were made to be used together.

It's a Challenge

I keep thinking that I need/want to particpate in more stamping challenges.  There are a lot of them and sometimes it is just the jump start I need when I'm feeling  uninspired or everything I make starts looking the same.  I stumbled upon this one Hand Stamped Sentiments and it was definitely a challenge for me.  The challenge was a color challenge and here's the colors: Crushed Curry, Early Espresso, and Pear Pizzaz.  Crushed Curry is not one of my go to colors but I decided to give it a try and this is what I came up with.

Fabulous florets crushed curry, espresso, pear pizzaz

Stamps:  Fabulous Florets, Six-Sided Sampler
Ink: Early Espresso, Pear Pizzaz
Paper: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzaz
Punches: 1-3/8" circle
Big Shot: Pretty Print folder
Extras: Early Espresso Taffeta ribbon(retired)

I am pretty  happy with how this turned out and really like how the Early Espresso ink looks stamped on the Crushed Curry card stock.   The firm foam ink pads is what makes it possible to have such complete coverage over the Curshed Curry card stock.

Fabulous Florets curry,espresso,pear,side

You know that since I made this card I have used Crushed Curry a little more.  I am a little less intimidated  by it and can see it will definitely be a great color to use  as we head into the fall.

Do you participate in any stamping challenges?  If you do let me know your favorites, I would love to find a few more to participate in.
