Thankful Frame

Recently I moved my stamp room and it was a lot of work.  One good thing that came out of the move was I uncovered or maybe i should say re-discoverd some hidden treasures.  No, I am not talking about gold or silver but crafting treasure.

Thankful frame

I found a little stash of magnetic frames and I knew this would make a great bonus project for my last card class.  Here's what we used to decorate the frames.

Paper: Sweater Weather DSP, Always Artichoke, Chocolate Chip
Punches: Boho Blossom, Merry Minis punch pack(126882 this item is a carryover from the last Holiday catalog), 1/2" circle punch
Big Shot: Expressions Thinlits dies, Autumn Accents Bigz die
Extras: Linen thread , Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets

Thankful frame side
I applied  the Multipurpose Adhesive sheets (page 174 120805) to the DSP before I cut out the "thankful"  also be sure to layer a piece of waxed paper between the die and theDSP.  This little trick makes it SO much easier to remove the paper from the thinlit die.  Since I used the Multipurpose Adhesive sheet it was very easy to attach the words to the frame.  I really need to remember to use the Adhesive sheets more often.

I have so much to be thankful for and this little frame will help to remind me.  Have a great one and thanks for stopping by!

Sweater Weather

It has been pretty quiet here, not much ink drying so not much to tell you about.   The past month has been a busy one and October is looking like it is going to be as well.   One thing I learned is that I need to be sure to schedule in some creative time so I did just that on Sunday.  Now, I wish I could tell you that I was a stamping machine and made so many new things but that would be untrue.  I found it hard to get started.   Does that happen to you?

Sweater Weather hi

This simple card took me forever to make!  I abandoned it many times and still feel like it is missing something but it is time to move on.

Stamps: Regarding Dahlias (sentiment), Woodgrain
Ink: Early Espresso
Paper: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Sweater Weather DSP, Champagne Glimmer paper
Big Shot: Autumn Accents Bigz die

Sweater Weather hi side

I added a few strips of Sweater Weather DSP to the inside as well.    This card fits in the Mailable Monday  category and it is pretty manly as well.

Check back with me soon as I get back to stamping and posting regularly.  Hope to stamp with you soon!

Halloween Hello and the Envelope Punch Board

This morning I had a little bit of time before I needed to head out for the day and I decided it was time to play with the Envelope Punch Board.   I made an envelope and it was super easy and quick.  I knew I couldn't just blog about making an envelope so I decided to use the envelope as a pocket for a card.

All I did was cut off one flap  and then assembled the envelope and I had a pocket card base.

Halloween Hello envelope card front

It is hard to see but the witch is in black glitter.  I stamped the image in VersaMark ink , embossed it using Heat and Stick embossing powder, and then sprinkled the glitter on top of the image.   I also used the orange glitter on the candy corn.

Lately I have not been a very good blogger.  It has been a busy time AND in the midst of all the busyness I decided I needed to move my stamp room downstairs.  It has been a challenge and I am not completely done with the transition.  The problem is that the room I am moving to is much smaller than the one I am leaving.  I know, what was i thinkng?! I think it will  turn out to be a good change but  right now it is chaos.   Bear with me while I get organized.

Birthday Candles Hack

I have been wanting the Birthday Candles jumbo wheel ever since I laid eyes on the Stampin' Up! catalog.   I just love those little candles all in a row.   I finally decided to get brave and buy it and take it off the roller  and make it into a stamp.    So, I ordered the wheel and sone Clear-Mount Cling Foam(page 197 124236)  and got out my exacto knife and performed some surgery on the jumbo wheel.   The procedure was MUCH simpler than I thought it would be and now I don't know why I was so scared to try it.   Basically you cut along the seam of the wheel and then gently remove the rubber from the wheel.  Seriously, it is that simple.  I mounted it on the Cling Foam and that is easy too.  The only thing you need to be careful of is to be sure to attach the rubber to the sticky side of the foam.

I have to tell you about the Note Cards and Envelopes (page 162 131527) .  These are great!  They are thicker then they used to be and make a nice substantial card.    They can be mailed and you get 20 note cards and envelopes for only $5.95!   It is a deal.
