It's Fun Fold Friday!

Yes, it is time for Fun Fold Friday!  I received questions about how I made this card.   I thought this would be perfect to share with you on Fun Fold Friday.

SAB14 See Ya Later 1 side

So, are you ready?  Here we go!  This is the version  we will be making today.

Happy Watercolor easel open

 1. Start with a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" Basic Black card stock, scored at 4-1/4" (just your regular card base)

2.  Use your Stampin' Trimmer and start at the fold of your card base and measure in 1-1/4".  You are going to cut to the edge only on the front panel.  Repeat on the other side of the front panel.  It will look like this.

FFF easel step 1

Looks like arms in the "stick em up position".

3.  Cut a piece of Very Vanilla card stock 4" x 4".  Adhere it to the inside of the card and then glue down the arms.  It will look like this.

FFF step 2 easel card4.  Score the middle panel at 2-1/8" (middle of the panel).  See above.

5. Cut two 1" x 4" strips from the Modern Medley DSP and attach them to the arms that are glued down.  Cut two  1-7/8" x 2-3/4" pieces from the Modern Medley DSP and attach it to the 2 sections of the middle panel.

FFF step 3 easel

6. Cut, color and assemble the flower for the front of the card.  Wrap the ribbon around the lower panel  and attach the flower to the side opposite of the ribbon knot.  Take care not to apply any adhesive above the score line in the middle panel.  If you do, the middle panel will not be able to bend.

7.  Punch out a heart using the small heart punch and attach it to the banner with a Stampin' Dimensional.  This will act as your stopper for your easel.  Attach the banner to the card.    You are done!

Thanks for stopping by for another Fun Fold Friday!  If  there is  a fun fold you would like me to feature leave me a comment.   Hopefully I will know it and can share it.

Weekly Deals

In all the Sale-A-Bration excitement I forgot to share with you this week's deal!

Weekly deal 1-28 thru 2-3

There are 2 items on this deal that I really adore.  Can you guess what they are?  If you have stamped with me recently you would know of my love of everything Pool Party.  This week's deal has the Pool Party  ink pad on sale for $4.46!   If you do not have one already you need to jump on this deal.  Remember the deal expires on February 3.

Do you know what the other items I adore is?  Here's a big hint.

Flower Garden embossing folder

Yup, it is the Flower Garden Embossing folder!  Here I inked up the folder with Calypso Coral ink and then embossed it.

I don't think I shared with you another cool new addition to the Big Shot family,  the Textured Boutique Embossing Machine.  Quite  a mouthful for a tiny machine.   You can use any of the different embossing folders with this machine.  It is a specialist and only embosses.  It is compact enough to be able to have apermanent place on your stamping table and easy to take with you!

Demoheader_textureboutique_demo_jan28_en_na-eu-sp

The order number is 132657 and is $29.95.  Just think if you purchase this embossing specialist and 3 embossing folders you would not only have a great assortment of textures but you would also qualify for a FREE Sale-A-Bration choice.   It just keeps getting better!  Let me know if I can help you with this or any of your stamping needs.

Sale-A-Bration!

In case you haven't heard Sale-A-Bration has started!  Yes, it is a wonderful time of the year.  How does it work?  Every time you pruchase $50 worth of Stampin' Up! merchandise you get to choose from a great selection of free gifts.   When you host a private class or workshop and the sales from the event are $400 or more you get to choose $30 more in hostess benefits!  My recent hostess got to choose $95 in Stampin' Up! merchandise  and a half price item for her $430 party.  WOW!  She was one happy stamper.

One of the Sale-A-bration choices is a card kit-Good as Gold.  I love this card kit and it makes fun and fast cards.  The picture in the brochure does not show off the cool gold foil dots on the card base or the brilliant gold envelope liners.  There are also some pre-printed banners and I love that sentiments  are in English, French and German.

SAB Good as Gold kit

I cut up the card base and used it like a piece of Designer paper.   I cut the gold banner from the envelope liner and added some Gold Sequin Trim.  You can barely see it but I also used the Decorative Dots embossing folder on the black card stock.   Yes, the Decorative Dots folder is also a FREE choice for Sale-A-Bration.  This card kit is a great one to have on hand for a quick card.  I am definitely going to have to get more of these kits.

If you do not have a Sale-A-Bration brochure and do not have a SU demonstrator, please contact me and I would be happy to get one to you.   Sale-A-Bration only lasts until March 31 so be sure to schedule your private class or party soon!

Retro Fresh File Folder Card

I love a good color combination and the Retro Fresh DSP in the Occasions catalog is a perfect example of a great color palette.  Who can argue with Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana, So Saffron, and Tangerine Tango?

File folder card 1I went a little pattern crazy mixing and matching the fun prints in the paper pack.  I also added some washi tape to the mix.  This was such a fun card to make.

File folder card 1 open
I added even more washi tape from the Retro Fresh Suite to the inside of the card.  I think the Retro Fresh washi tape is my favorite set so far.
Stamps: Yippee Skippee, You're Lovely
Ink: Tangerine Tango
Paper: Very Vanilla,  Baked Brown Sugar, Retro Fresh DSP
Punches: Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, 1-3/4" Circle
Big Shot: Deco Labels Collection
Extras: Subtles Candy Dots, Retro Fresh Washi Tape, Envelope Punch Board

Here's a close up of the label.  I used one of the stamps from the SAB set You're Lovely to add a little texture to the label.
