Blended Bloom Really Good Greetings

Today's share has something coming, something going and something staying.  Let's talk about the things that are coming.  The Blended Bloom stamp will be available on June 2nd sometime after 11 am (PT).  This is a nice big single stamp that is LOTS of fun to color.  Blendabilities will be in the "coming" stage for about another month.  I can honestly say it is worth the wait.  The things that are staying, the Really Good Greetings stamp set and the silver foil paper.  This is a fun set and I love the sentiments especially the one I used in the card.  What is going?  The Kaleidoscope DSP in the Occasions brochure will be retiring.  If you haven't noticed I love the black and white stripe.

Blended Blooms Really Great Greeting 2

I used the Cherry Cobbler and Daffodil Delight Blendabilites to color the flower.   I most definitely used the Color Lifter too.

Sorry this picture is a little glarey(sp?).  The silver foil paper adds a lot of shine and really is reflective which is causing the glare.

Just a few more sleeps till it is ordering time from the NEW Stampin' Up catalog 2014-15!  I have to whittle down my wish list cause it is ridiculous!  I have my work cut out for me.  If you still do not have a catalog and do not have a demonstrator of your own. Please contact me and I would be happy to help you.  Gotta run and work on that wish list!

Simply Sketched 3 x 3 and Blendabilities

I am looking forward to the debut of the new Stampin' Up! catalog.  That is probably an understatement.  While I am super excited to order some fun new items I am also sad to see the retiring of stamp sets.  I know this set is no longer available but I couldn't resist doing some quick coloring with the Blendabilities (new alcohol markers from Stampin' Up!) and Simmply Sketched one of my  favorite hostess sets.

Simply Sketched 3 x 3

Unfortunately the Blendabilities will not be available when the new Stampin' Up! catalog debuts on June 2.  The latest announcement said that it will be closer to July before the Blendabilities will be available.   If yu are wondering how I was able to get Blendabilities?  Demonstrators were able to order a selection of the Blendabilities markers during our pre-order from the new catalog.

If you cannot wait to get your hands on Blendabilities (or even if you don't), have I got a deal for you!

Fun Fold Friday: Folded Star Card

Are you ready for another Fun Fold Friday?  Great!  Here we go.  Remember this card made by Judy for the stamp ladies fun fold swap?

Stamp Ladies Fun Fold Swap Judy

Today we ae going to make this card.

Here's the one we are going to make.

Folded star tutorial

1. Cut a 7-1/2" x 8-1/2" piece of Designer Series Paper.  Here we used Gingham Garden DSP.  Make a small pencil mark at 4-1/4" on the 8-1/2" side.

FFF Folded Star 1

2.  Using the Stampin' Trimmer, line up the pencil mark and the bottom right hand edge on the cutting line and make a diagonal cut.  Repeat on the other side.

FFF Folded star 2

3. Lightly mark the center of each side (4-1/4") with a pencil.  Line up the marks and score  This will form a triangle.  From the score lines measure 1-1/4" (see picture below) towards the points.

FFF Folded Star 3

4.  Fold along the lines.  The lines that form a triangle are valley folds and the other lines are mountain folds.

FFF Folded Star folding 2

5. Cut a piece of Whisper White card stock 3-1/2" x 4".  Mark along the 4" side at 2".  Line up the mark and the corner of the paper and cut.  Repeat on the other side.  This will fit into the middle of the card.

Here's a variation I am working on  using card stock for the card.

Folded Start Father's Day
I will share how to cut the DSP pieces to make this version in the next few days.  Remember if you want to give My Paper Pumpkin a try today (Friday) is the last day to sign up and get June's box at 50% off!

2014-16 In Colors Blackberry Bliss & Hello Honey

I am doing a little sneak peeking at the new In Colors for 2014-2016.  I am loving the color combination of Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey.   They are very warm colors and they look so good together.

     Blackberry Bliss&Hello Honey

Let's dissect the card and see what all is new.

Blackberry Bliss&Hello Honey new product arrows

Are you wondering how I cut the tag?

Blackberry Bliss & Hello Honey Cutting the tag

Cut the card stock a smidge smaller than the framelit opening.  On this tag it was a smidge less than 2-3/4".  Thread the card stock through the framelit as shown above.  Run it through your Big Shot with the point heading in first.  Listen for the framelit cutting the edge.  Once you hear the card stock being cut, stop and reverse it out of the Big Shot.  This will prevent the impression of the framelit from showing on your tag.

     Blackberry Bliss&Hello Honey Glitter Accent

I love the glittery center of the card.  I use this idea a lot and it is so easy.  Apply VersaMark ink directly on some Blackberry Bliss card stock.  Cover the VersaMark ink with Irisdescent Ice embossing powder and then heat set it.  If you are like me you will have lots of glittery strips on hand ready to add to your projects when you need just a little more.

Gingham Garden DSP and a Yippee Skippee Hack

On Monday,  Typepad my blogging platform had a very bad day.  The service was down for most of the day.   Happily it is back so I am able to drop in and share with you a simple card and also the Weekly Deal!

This card is a simplified version of the Mojo Monday sketch.   It is a great sketch to use with all the lovely Designer Series Paper Stampin Up! has to offer.  This sweet DSP is on the retiring list so be sure to get yours before it is gone.

Yippee Skippee hack

Notice the sentiment?  It is a mash-up of the Yippee Skippee set and the Four You set.  The original sentiment reads "two" instead of "you".

Here's what I used to make this card with the exception of that cute little Melon Mambo heart.  That cute little heart is from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack that will debut in the 2014-15 catalog.

  Weekly deal may 20-26

Remember the Weekly Deal is for one week only and while supplies last.  If you want to scoop up some of these deals you can shop at my online store.  Thanks and see you tomorrow!

Regarding Dahlias and Blendabilities

I am now back in my stamp room after being away on vacation.  It is great to be back playing with stamps, inks and paper!  I took my Blendabilities and some images with me on vacation so I could practice my coloring.  I did not get much practice in but that's okay.  Here's one of the images I did get done.

Regarding Dahlias Daffodil Delight Blendabilities

Regarding Dahlias Daffodil Delight Blendabilities side view

After I took the above pictures I decided to add some Dazzling Diamonds to the lined sections of the flower.

Regarding Dahlias Daffodil Delight Blandabilities Glittered

I know it is difficult to see the glitter.  I need a glitter setting on my camera.

Regarding Dahlias Daffodil Delight Blendabilities Glittered side view

Here you can see the glitter a little bit more, just not the sparkle.  The Blendabilities will not be available when the new Stampin' Up! catalog debuts.  I know that isn't what you wanted to hear.  The bright side is that with the Blendabilities not being avaialble on June 2, you can focus on purchasing other things!  Believe me there is a lot of amazing new products in the 2014-15 Stampin' Up catalog.

Stamps: Regarding Dahlias, A Dozen Thoughts
Ink: Memento Black, Daffodil Delight Blendabilities
Paper: Whisper White,Basic Black, Kaleidoscope DSP
Extras: Rhinestone colored with the Daffodil Delight Blendability, Dazzling Diamond Glitter

P.S. I am working on cleaning up my blog which is why the sidebars may look a little wonky.  I am going for a cleaner less cluttered look.  Please pardon the mess!
