SDBH Halloween 2015

I made a little shaker card for you.  At first I didn't know what to put inside the shaker, then it hit me...Googly Eyes!  I think it is a perfect thing for a Halloween shaker card.

The Spider Web doilies are so fun and I highly recommend them. Unfortunately they are on backorder but lots more are expected to arrive in the next few weeks.  The doilies are black on one side and white on the other so they can be used for other occasions, like snowflakes!

SDBH 2015 Halloween open

Love this little inside fold!  When the card is closed you have no idea that there is a surprise lurking within!  Here's how to create the little pop out.  Make a light pencil mark 1" on either side the fold.  Score a diagonal line connecting the 1" mark to the fold, repeat on the other side.  This is such a fun and easy way to add some drama to your card.

There's more Halloween fun to see on your next stop!  Be sure to continue on to see what France has to share with you!

Spooky Saturday: Quick and Easy

Today's Spooky Saturday is a quick and easy card.  The Happy Haunting DSP (Designer Series Paper) is really one of the best.  The patterns are easy to mix and match and the designs are Halloweeny but not overtly.

Spooky Saturday 3

You see what I mean?  The design on the left are little bats but I think you have to really look to see them.

Here's a peek inside of the card.

I used the sentiment from the Happy Scenes stamp set and since it is a photopolymer set, I was able to manipulate it a bit.  This little trick is a good one to remember when you don't want to worry about stamping straight.

That is it for Spooky Saturday.  Be sure to check back Monday night for another edition of the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop.  The theme this month is Halloween so there will be lots of spooky ideas for you.

Fun Fold Friday: Lighthearted Leaves and the One Flap Easel

It is really feeling like fall both in my stamp room and outside.   The days are getting shorter (boo) and the leaves are starting to turn color.

I may have gone a little crazy with the Lighthearted Leaves set in the Holiday Catalog.  You will be seeing a lot of them in the next few days!

I have shared this fold before and here is the link to a tutorial.  Did you notice something different about the embossing?  Hopefully you can see it better in this picture.

I made a custom mix of the Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder and the Gold Stampin' Glitter to add a little sparkle  to the leaf design.  Unfortunately I did not measure the ratio very carefully but I would start with  1 part embossing powder to one part glitter.  You can add more powder or glitter until you are happy with the mix.  If you need supplies to make your own custom embossing powder or fall leaves  here's a link to my online store.

Spooky Saturday: Boo!

Time for another Spooky Saturday!   I am sorry to have gone missing for a few days.  Yesterday was the first day in a week that I even was able to spend some time in my craft room.  Here's what I came up with for Spooky Saturday.

Spooky Saturday 2

I am still playing around with the Halloween candy I purchased.  I cut down the window frame that was cut using the Hearth and Home Thinlit so it would fit the side of the Baker's Box.   I love the spookiness of the ghouls looking out of the window.

The "Happy Halloween" and the bird are from last year's My Paper Pumpkin box.  It was the perfect size so I had to use it.  Hope you enjoyed today's Spooky Saturday.
