Clubbin' on Sunday

Are you expecting to hear about my wild and crazy night life?   No, I am not talking about that kind of clubbin'.   I am talking about stamp clubbin!  Today I am meeting up with my Sunday Stampers hostess club.  We usually meet earlier in the month but due to Valentine's Day and other obligations we had to delay getting together and we are finally getting to meet today!  It seems like I have not seen them in a long time and I cannot wait!

Since we last met there have been some new Sale-A-Bration items added: Pedal Pusher stamp set, Party Pants stamp set(in wood and clear mount) and the Metallics Glitter Tape.

Product List

So much to share with them!  I managed to use all of the products in the projects we are doing today.  I think they are going to love the new Sale-A-Bration products.

I am going to show you one of the projects we are making today, which is why I'm posting a little later than usual.  I don't want to ruin the surprise for them.

Bloom for YouBotanical Builders flower pot

Product List

Sunday Stampers 216 side

I use the Botanicals for You (Sale-A-Bration choice) sentiments a lot especially on gifts.  This little flowerpot makes a fun gift.  Inside there is a little peat moss circle and flower seeds.  Cute huh?  All I did was trace the cover onto the Everyday Chic Designer series paper and then cut it out and glued it back on to the original packaging.  Pretty simple and makes it a little dressier.

Sunday Stampers 216 close up

I stamped  the Bloom for You stamp in Real Red ink on Real Red cardstock and it is VERY subtle.   The flower seeds inside are red poppies.  I know these don't look that much like poppies but they sure were fun to make.

Sunday Stampers 216 note

We are also making a little 3" x 3" card.  Notice the gold Metallics tape.  Love how easy it is to use and coordinates so well with the Gold Glimmer paper.

I still have a few more things to do to get ready to go clubbin' so I better end here.  I will try and remember to post the other 2 projects we will be doing today later in the week.  Have a fabulous day and if you would like to have more information about clubbin', stamp clubbin' that is, let me know!

Botanical Blooms

This seems to be my week to play in challenges.  I saw that the What Will You Stamp challenge #52  was to use the Botanical Blooms stamp set.  You know how I feel about that set and framelits, so I went to work.  I wanted to do something totally different  from what I had done before so I decided to use just one color.

Botanical Blooms W&W

Are you asking where did I use the stamps?  I embossed all the details on the  leaves  in white embossing powder, this added texture and interest.   It is hard to see but other than Whisper White card stock the only other paper i used was the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper for the centers of the flowers.

Botanical Blooms white on white side

I wanted a little more texture so I used the Elegant Dots embossing folder on the panel.  What do you think?

Product List

Just for fun and because I was curious, I also tried it on a black card base.

Botanical Blooms B&W

Not sure which I like better.  How about you?

Thank you from the Bear Hugs family

When I saw the Mojo Monday   sketch challenge, I knew exactly what I wanted to  make.  This does not happen to me often so when it does I get to work. Here's sketch #Mojo436.

Mojo436

Here is what immediately came to mind when i saw the sketch.

Bear Hugs family thank you

You know I love those cute bears.  Putting on hats, bows, and ties is just too much fun.  I was also happy to be able to use the sentiment from the One Big Meaning set.  I love the combination of the 2 fonts and that sweet little heart.   The bear family peeking out of the holes just makes me smile.  I used the Woodgrain embossing folder to give it a more natural feeling even though I am sure bears don't hang out inside of trees.

Bear Hugs Thank you side

Here's a little peek of the inside of the card.  I used a sentiment (You're So Sweet) from the Bear Hugs stamp set and the cute little flower bouquet in the set.

Thanks for stopping by and checking in with me.  I would love to be your Stampin' Up! demonstrator so please let me know if you have any questions or need to order some products.

Birthday Blooms and the Try Stampin' on Tuesday Challenge #259

It is Tuesday and time for the Try Stampin' on Tuesday Challenge #259!  Here is the sketch.

TSOT #259

Here's what I  came up with.  Honestly this sketch was difficult for me. I think it is because i am used to things being very symmetrical.  This is one of the reasons I love participating in challenges, it forces me to stamp outside of my comfort zone.

I hope you will join in the Try Stampin' on Tuesday Challenge #259.

Balloon Celebration stamp set and a Challenge

What a strange blog post title.  I realize now that is sounds like I am having a challenge with the Balloon Celebration stamp set.  What I really mean is that I used the Balloon Celebration for a challenge.  I wrote about my obsession with the Balloon Celebration stamp set in this post.  This set was perfect to use to play along with the Friday Mashup.

       Fm243 balloons and stencils

The Mashup Challenge this week is:

  • Create a project with a birthday theme.
  • Create a project using stencils.
  • or Mash it Up!! and create a birthday themed project that uses stencils.

  Balloon Celebration &Shine On DSP
This card has a secret.  When you push the band up another message is revealed!

Balloon Celebration and Shine On DSP open

I love the shiny foil accents on the Shine On Designer Series Paper.  It is hard to capture how pretty it is but  those little accents help to elevate the whole card.

Here's another view of this fun card.

Balloon Celebration: the Obsession Begins

Lately I have been using these 3 sets a lot: Bear Hugs, Birthday Blooms and Balloon Celebration.  Honestly, I did not think that Balloon Celebration  would every be among my favorites since I bought it for a specific reason (I will share the reason soon) and not because I was in love with the set.  Just goes to show, you just never know.

Balloon Celebration in Blushing Bride

Love how easy it is to do the 2-step with the balloon images.  I never thought I would become such a fan of photopolymer but I am, especially when it comes to doing the 2 step.

Balloon Celebration Blushing Bride inside

Had to do a little stamping on the inside too!  I drew the string in with a Smoky Slate marker.  That is about all I can manage freehand, which is why I  love stamping so much.

Balloon Celebration close

I did a little splattering with the Gold Wink of Stella.  This was kind of messy and I am not sure I will do this again but I sure liked how it turned out.

I just realized I left out the Smoky Slate ink pad and marker on the list of supplies.  I used the ink pad to stamp the balloon strings and the marker for the single string.

Still not convinced that you need this stamp set and punch.  Stay tuned and I will be sharing a few more samples in the next few days.  (If you do not want to miss seeing future posts be sure to subscribe to my blog.)  Hopefully, like me you will become obsessed with them and if you do, you can order your own from my online store.   Thanks and stamp with you soon!

Botanical Gardens Suite

I hate to keep repeating myself but I love the Botanical Gardens suite in the Occasions catalog.    Hawaii is where I grew up and one of the places I call home, so all the images just speak to me.  Yes, stamps, papers and dies talk to me, mostly they say things like "buy me" or "we want to live with you" and since I am a good listener I do what I am told.

Botanical Blooms Panel front

I knew I wanted to make a card that looked like a haku lei.  If you don't know what a haku lei is, google it and be prepared to be totally amazed and well, just do it.

Botanical Blooms Panel side

It was fun creating this card and trying to achieve the look of the lei.  There is a strip of black card stock between the 2 panels that serves as a the base on which the flowers are arranged.

I shared a sample here using the Pedal Pusher stamp set.  Remember you earn one FREE Sale-A-Bration product for every $50 you spend (before shipping and handling).  You can shop at my online store or contact me and I would be happy to help you!

Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop...Getting Sketchy

Blog hop header

Welcome to the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop!  This month we are doing something a little different.  We are using a sketch designed by France Martin.  Here is the sketch.

SD Sketch 2:16

Isn't it a great sketch?  Lots of possibilities.  Here is what I came up with based on the sketch.

Birthday Blooms SD blog hop

If you follow my blog you know how much I love this stamp set, Birthday Blooms.  Here's what I did.  I first embossed the image using white embossing powder on Shimmery White card stock.   I colored in the flower using Elegant Eggplant and Pear Pizzaz ink refills and an Aqua Painter.  I then fussy cut around some of the image and then used a square framelit to cut the rest.  The image is layered on Basic Black card stock and Silver Foil paper.

Birthday Blooms SD Blog hop side

I also used 2 new Sale-A-Bration items that will be available February 16-March 31 on my card.  The first is the Party Pants stamp set.  The sweet little sentiment is from that set.  The second is the Metallics Glitter Tape.  This tape is fabulous.  You get 3 rolls of glitter tape, one of each color.  The colors are gold, silver and white.   I used a strip of the silver tape on the inside of my card.

Birthday Blooms SD Blog hop inside

You will have to use your imagination a bit to really appreciate how lovely this tape is.  It looks more like Silver Glimmer paper except it comes on a roll and is 9/16" wide.

Now it is time for you to hop on over to see what France Martin has in store for you!  You know it is going to be great!

If you just came from France's blog then you might want to head over to BJ Peter's blog.  She has something fabulous for you to see.

Sneak Peek: Pedal Pusher Stamp Set

Let me start by saying,  I have a terrible head cold so if none of this makes sense blame it on the cold meds!  Today is day 3 of this cold and  probably the worse day yet so bear with me.  Starting February 16, there will be 3 new  Sale-A-Bration items available and they are fabulous.   One of the new items is a stamp set called Pedal Pushers and  I especially like how the set coordinates  with the Beautiful Ride stamp set in the Occasions catalog.

Pedal Pushers sneak peek

The cute bicycle built for two and the basket are from the Pedal Pushers set and the sentiment and the cute little dog in the basket are from Beautiful Ride.
