Bear Hugs...It's Useless to Resist

I tried my best to resist but it didn't take  long until my willpower could not withstand the cuteness of the Bear Hugs stamp set and framelits.

Bear Hugs 1

Isn't she just too cute?  As soon as the bundle arrived I made this.  I just love her little skirt and bow.  I added a stand of pearls since she was getting all dressed up.  As cute as she is I decided that I needed to do more with her.

Bear Hugs Miss You

I used the Bloomin' Heart thinlit and cut out the heart and used it to connect the two pieces of the front. Doesn't she look so adorable framed by the heart?

More with the Baker's Box

Need to make a quick sweet treat for Valentine's  day?  Look no further than the Baker's Box thinlits die.

Baker's Box Valentines

Yes, those are chocolate lips in the box!  This is similar to the box I shared a few days ago.  This time I used one of the dies that come with the Baker's Box die set to create the window.   This box also has a hanging note.

If you missed seeing how I created the note holder, you can check it out here.  This hanger is just a little different.  I cut the opening directly on the box and pasted the red opening piece over the hole on the box.

Baker's Box Valentine's note card

My very clever team member, Laurie saw this and thought it would also make a cute bank.  Isn't that a great idea?   If you need any supplies to make your own fun Baker's Box, just click on any of the links below.  Thank you!

Best Thoughts and the TSOT #256 Challenge

When I saw the sketch for the Try Stampin' on Tuesday sketch #256 I knew exactly what I wanted to do.    I just needed to find the right stamp set to use.  I think I found the perfect one, Best Thoughts, which is a hostess set in the Stampin' Up! annual catalog.

Here is the sketch.

Jan28 TSOT #256 due 1:28

Here's what I made.

Best Thoughts TSOT #256

Yes, it is another rolling penny card very similar in design to this card.   The main difference is that this is a square card and I used circle # 7 and 9 (1 being the smallest circle in the Circles Collection framelits).  Here's a tutorial on how to make a rolling penny card.

I embossed the images in white embossing powder and colored using an Aqua Painter and re-inkers.   The hardest part was trying to find just the right butterfly.

I hope you join in the challenge!  If you do, please let me know and I will be sure to check out your creation.  Thanks for stopping by!

Baker's Box and a Hanging Note Card

You know I enjoy participating in challenges and when I saw the Stampin' Royalty Challenge #314 I knew I had to play along.

Stampin' Royalty SR #314

Their inspiration photo is amazing, it makes me so happy.

What to make with this awesome photo inspiration?  So many possibilities!  I decided to make a box since it has been a while since I have shared a packaging idea.

Baker's Box Flower

I used the flower from the Crazy About You stamp set and stamped it in Real Red ink on Real Red card stock.  The flower is punched out using the Flower Medallion punch.  I did do some fussy cutting to make the smaller flowers, fortunately the stamp has easy to follow lines to help me cut.

Baker's Box flower close

After I made the box I started thinking about adding a note card or tag.  I wanted it to be attached to the box and this is what I came up with.  I am pretty excited about this.

Baker's Box back

Do you want to know how I made this?  Hopefully you said yes cause I am going to show you!

Baker's Box note holder

This little die is part of the Baker's Box thinlits.  You can use it to cut out handles to the top of the Baker's Box.  It can also be used to hang a little note card.   I cannot decide which is easier to cut the die first and then cut it to the right size (3/8" x 2") or cut the card stock first(as shown in the picture).

Baker's Box note holder 2

This is what you will end up with.  Apply some glue to the top portion and the sides but not along the bottom.

Baker's Box side back

You slip your little note card through the slit and the bottom of the hanger.  The little note card measures 1-1/2" x 3" .  The "thanks" is also from the Crazy About You stamp set.  Pretty cool huh?
