Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #CCMC412
June 23, 2016
Time for the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #CCMC412! This week it is a color challenge!
Lovely colors, right? Decided to use the Bunch of Blossoms bundle, yes it is my current favorite. Are you saying to yourself but there isn't a green in the color palette? Well in my little stamping world you can definitely have Pool Party leaves.
The bag was made using the Mini Treat Bag thinlits using Watermelon Wonder DSP from the In Color DSP stack. The bottom layer of the flower has 6 large petals, then 4 large petals, 4 of the smaller petals, and the tiny flower for the center. All three of these images were punched out using the Blossom Builder punch. The big leaves need to be fussy cut, fortunately they are very easy and not fussy at all to cut.
Tip: Generally, I stamp the bigger/bolder image first and then stamp the accent image. I found that it was easier for me to line up the petal images when i stamped the accent image first and then the bolder image over that.
I used the Triple Banner punch to cut out the Pool Party and Whisper White banners. Did you notice the cute little Blushing Bride and Pool Party enamel dots? Love these small little accents!
I hope you will join the Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge 412! Be sure to check out what the other members of the design team made. They are brilliant and always come up with such great ideas!
Oh Sharon, what a sweet project! I love the polka dot bag. I hadn't even noticed the bunch of blossoms set before, but you can bet I'll be seeking it out now after seeing your awesome project!

Love that fancy layered flower - the perfect embellishment for your sweet treat bag Sharon. I read your stamping narrative with interest - I have the Baby Bear stamp and I find I get a better result if I stamp the accent image first and work backwards too. I guess whatever works, right?!

Love your bright gift bag with the big beautiful flower! Great to see an alternative to a card using the colours this week!

That flower is AMAZING! The color combination is simply divine with it. And yes, one can have Pool Party leaves!

Fabulous flower, and I didn't even think twice about the leaves being a shade of blue! My eye saw it all as very natural! I have to remember to do this more often - no need to be limited by color expectations. Very pretty!
