Red, White and Blue Leaves CCMC413

Welcome to the Thursday Create with Connie and Mary Challenge!  This week it is a sketch challenge.  Are you ready to see the sketch?

CCMC413

It is another wonderful sketch.  Lots of possibilities.  I decided since the 4th of July is coming up I would make something using red, white and blue.

Flourish thinlits, www.sharonburkert.com,#stampinup

I used the beautiful  Flourish Thinlits to cut the Real Red, Night of Navy and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper leaves.  The leaves are very detailed and beautiful.   The banner is from the Number of Years stamp set.  This is a photopolymer set which means I could manipulate the stamp to make it curved. The "celebrating" is from the Crazy About You set.  I finished off the banner with 2 stars from the Brights Enamel Shapes.

Try Stampin' on Tuesday #TSOT277

It is time for the Try Stampin' on Tuesday challenge.  Here is what I created for #TSOT277.

TSOT 277

This sketch is SO versatile and would work for so many stamp sets. How to chose which set to use?  I decided that I would pick a set a week to focus on and this week it is the Foxy Friends set and Fox Builder punch.  This decision made it so much easier for me.

Foxy Friends stamp set, Fox Builder punch, www.sharonburkert.com, #stampin'up

I didn't have any black enamel shapes so I colored some White Perfect Accents with a black sharpie.   Love the way it turned out!

Be sure to check out the Try Stampin' on Tuesday blog and see the amazing  cards the other designers made using this sketch.  You can play along with us and post on the blog or you can also join in the challenge on the Try Stampin on Tuesday Facebook group.  I would love to see what you create with the sketch!

Fresh Fruit

Just a quick drop in!  I had planned a tutorial for today on a card I shared here.  Unfortunately the lighting where we are is not very good so I am going to wait to post until I get back into my stamp room where I can better control the lighting.

In the meantime here's some strawberries for you.

Fresh Fruit stamp set, www.sharonburkert.com,#Stampin''Up!

I wrapped a 1" strip of the Fruit Stand DSP around the box with the top flap up.  I did this so you can remove a strawberry candy without having to rip the paper.  The ribbon I used is the 5/8" Mini Striped Ribbon in Cucumber Crush.   The new Clear Tiny Treat Boxes are super fun and assemble without any adhesive.  I know you will find all kinds of great uses for these adorable 2" x 2" x 2" clear acetate boxes.

Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #CCMC412

Time for the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #CCMC412!  This week it is a color challenge!

CCMC412

Lovely colors, right?  Decided to use the Bunch of Blossoms bundle, yes it is my current favorite.  Are you saying to yourself but there isn't a green in the color palette?   Well in my little stamping world you can definitely have Pool Party leaves.

Bunch of Blossoms bundle, www.sharonburkert.com, #stampinup

The bag was made using the Mini Treat Bag thinlits using Watermelon Wonder DSP from the In Color DSP stack.   The bottom layer of the flower has 6 large petals, then 4 large petals,  4 of the smaller petals, and the tiny flower for the center.  All three of these images were punched out using the Blossom Builder punch.  The big leaves need to be fussy cut, fortunately they are very easy and not fussy at all to cut.

Tip: Generally, I stamp the bigger/bolder image first and then stamp the accent image.  I found that it was easier for me  to line up  the petal images when i stamped the accent image first and then the bolder image over that.

Bunch of Blossoms bundle, www.sharonburkert.com #stampinup

I used the Triple Banner punch to cut out the Pool Party and Whisper White banners.  Did you notice the cute little Blushing Bride and Pool Party enamel dots?  Love these small little accents!

I hope you will join the Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge 412!  Be sure to check out what the other members of the design team made.  They are brilliant and always come up with such great ideas!

Bunch of Blossoms

I have spent the past few days stamping and planning a class using the Bunch of Blossoms stamp set and Blossom Builder punch.  I'm pretty excited about this class!  We came up with some really fun cards and some of them are pretty different.  This card did not make it into the class but I still wanted to share it with you.

Bunch of Blossoms stamp set, Blossoms Builder punch, #stampinup, www.sharonburkert.com

This is probably my favorite color combination right now, Flirty Flamingo and Peekaboo Peach.  These 2 colors are just so happy and bright and yet not too bright.  I also used Pear Pizzaz and Soft Suede ink.  What I really like about this set is that it contains both beautiful images and great sayings.  It is rare for me to use just one stamp set and when I can I know it is a complete set.

Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #CCMC411

It is Thursday and time for another Create with Connie and Mary Challenge!  Today it is a sketch challenge.   I found this sketch to be well, a challenge!

CCMC411

I played around with a bunch of other ideas.   I think the double greeting was throwing me until I remembered the Christmas Greetings Thinlits and the Holly Jolly Greetings stamp set.  Once I had that in mind everything else fell into place.

CCMC411 Side 6916

This is my second Christmas card of 2016!  Every year I say that I need to start my Christmas cards earlier and every year I am madly trying to get them done at the last minute.   It is June and I already have 2 made, not a huge accomplishment but a start.

CCMC 411 6916

I cut the word peace out of Silver Glimmer paper and used slivers of dimensional to adhere to the card.  I wanted it to stand out and emphasize the sentiment.

CCMC 411 close 6916

I used the Layering Squares Framelits to cut the squares of Shimmery White and Dapper Denim card stock.  I embossed the snowflake on Dapper Denim card stock and punched them out using the Snow Flurry punch.  It is hard to see but I mixed White embossing powder with Dazzling Diamond glitter, to give my snowflake a little sparkle.

Thank you for stopping by and be sure to check out what the others on the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge team made.  They are brilliant and made some lovely cards.

Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop...Patriotic

Blog hop header

Welcome to the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop.  This month our theme is Patriotic projects.

  Jar of Love, www.sharonburkert.com, #stampinup

I stamped the jar on card stock vellum and used a heat tool to  help speed up the drying of the ink.  Once that was dry I stamped the water inside the jar in Pool Party ink.  I  used the heat tool again.   I used Real Red and Dapper Denim for the flowers.   I decided that white flowers wouldn't show up very well so I went with silver stars instead.

Jar of Love www.sharonburkert.com #stampinup

I used the Thoughtful Banners stamp set for the sentiment and the cute label.  The set contains lots of words.  This is a very useful stamp set.   I finished off the banner with the stars from the new Enamel Shapes.   I love that the enamel shapes come in every color and there are different shapes.   There are 2 sizes of circles, hearts and stars.  Pretty cool huh?

Try Stampin' on Tuesday TSOT 275

Time for the Try Stampin' on Tuesday Challenge!  I love that the design team alternates weeks.  This is the sketch we worked with.

TSOT 275

Here's what I designed for the challenge.

Swirly Bird TSOT 275, www.sharonburkert.com, #stampinup

I have been working on using the new In Colors from Stampin' Up! Here I used Peekaboo Peach, Emerald Envy paired with Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo.  I  love how happy and bright it looks.  I think it is a color combo that works.

Vertical Greetings

How many times have you wished that you had some greetings that were vertical?  We can manipulate the layout of sayings and omit and add words but it is way too much work to change their orientation.   That's why I was so happy to see  the Vertical Greetings set(page 109) in the new Stampin' Up! catalog.  The set has SIX basic sentiments and a trio of delightful topiaries.

Vertical Greetings 6916

Isn't that little heart adorable?  It is from the new Enamel Shapes.  In the Brights, Regals, and Subtles you get 1 sheet per color and each sheet has 5 hearts, 5 stars, 5 mini circles, and 5 small circles.  I know I will be ordering more.

Vertical Greetings 6916 close enamel

I also fussy cut around each of the parts of the topiary.  I wanted a little more dimension since the card was going to be a pretty simple one.  It wasn't difficult just well, fussy.

A Little Bit of This and That with the May Paper Pumpkin kit

I spent the morning making the May Paper Pumpkin kit cards.  I really liked that kit.  Some of the cards I followed the directions exactly and others I didn't.

Here are a couple I made just using the supplies that came in the kit.

May MPP #3 61016

May MPP #5 61016

This one I added some Night of Navy card stock underneath the lattice and the adorable fox from the Foxy Friends set.

Foxy Friends MPP 61016

This one I cut up one of the lattices and used just a portion of it.  I added some Night of Navy card stock, Night of Navy solid Baker's Twine and the Foxy Friends stamp set.

Foxy Friends MPP 2 61016

I cut the lattice on this one and added the Night of Navy card stock and connected the two sections with the jar from  the Jar of Love bundle.  I used the stamp from the May kit to stamp the sentiment.

May MPP #4 61016

This is probably my favorite.  Here again I used just part of the lattice.  I punched the petals from the Pumpkin Pie corrugated card stock from the kit using the Blossom Builder punch.  The centers of the flowers were also punched using the Blossom Builder punch.  The large leaves are from the Bunch of Blossoms stamp set that coordinates with the Blossom Builder punch and is available as a bundle.  I also added some longer leaves from the Jar of Love set and cut them out with the coordinating die from the Everyday Jars Framelits.    The sentiment is from the Bunch of Blossoms stamp set.  I will be using that stamp a lot!

May MPP #6 61016
