Hey, Chick Sneak Peek

Just a few more days until the start of Sale-A-Bration!  When I first saw the Sale-A-Bration catalog I might have squealed when I saw the Hey, Chick stamp set.  The images in this stamp set are just so fun.  I think it will be a very popular choice during Sale-A-Bration.   I combined one of the chickens with the Carried Away DSP which is also a Sale-A-Bration choice.

Isn't she just adorable?  I paper pieced the chicken using the Carried Away DSP.   This is easy to do since you do not need to cut out her comb, beak, wattle, or feet.

Stylish Stems and the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge 438

Oh how I struggled with this color combination.  I made 2 other projects that  just weren't quite right and decided to try one more idea before giving up.  Here's the color challenge.

CCMC438

I liked this project the best of all my attempts.  It could probably use a bit more tweaking but i have reached the point and am just calling it done.

Stylish Stems framelits www.sharonburkert.com

I used the soon to be released Stylish Stems Framelits and I love these flowers.   The sentiment is from another new stamp set called So in Love.   I used the Baker Box thinlits and  the  silver stripe design from the Neutrals DSP Stack.

Be sure to check out what the other members of the CCMC design came up with.  I hope  you will join in and participate in the challenge.

Here's to Another Year and the Try Stampin' on Tuesday #303

I just adore this sketch for the Try Stampin' on Tuesday challenge #303.  It reminds me of one of my go to sketches.

TSOT 303

The optional theme for this challenge is Bling for New Year's.  I don't often use the optional theme but it was just perfect for the card I wanted to make.

Balloon Adventures stamp set www.sharonburkert.com

I used a lot of Silver Glimmer paper, silver embossing , and rhinestones to fit the Bling for New Year's theme.  I used a new die (available January 4th) called  Star Blast Edgelit.  I bought it for a totally different reason but thought it was a perfect fit for a New Year's card.

Isn't the sentiment fabulous?  This is from another set that is featured in the upcoming Occasions catalog called,  Balloon Adventures.   I think the sentiment was meant for birthday cards but it is absolutely perfect wish for 2017!

Sneak Peek: Inside the Lines DSP

I am deep in the last minute Christmas rush/panic.  My list has been totally pared down and I am focusing on just the essentials.  It looks like I will be sending New Year's cards instead of Christmas cards.  It has been a tough year and honestly I am ready for it to be 2017!

Sharing with you a peek at two new products that will be available January 4th!  Yes, Stampin' Up! will be offering watercolor pencils.  It has been a while since there has been watercolor pencils in a catalog.  These pencils are extra special because they are in actual SU colors.  Swoon! I paired the watercolor pencils with the Inside the Lines DSP which is a Sale-A-Bration choice!   Sale-A-Bration also starts on Jaunary 4th.  During Sale-A-Bration you will be able to pick an item from the Sale-A-Bration catalog every time you spend $50 (before shipping and tax).

Inside the Lines DSP

The Inside the Lines DSP is very fun to color so if you like coloring I think it is a definite must have choice.   I used the largest Scallop Square die from the Layering Squares Framelits and cut a piece of DSP 2-5/8" x 2-5/8".  Once I was done coloring I cut up the DSP and then layered it on the scallop square.  This is a very quick and simple card and a great way to practice your coloring skills.

Thanks for stopping by.  Thursday is my deadline so what doesn't get done will just have to wait until the new year.  Wish me luck!

Sneak Peek SUnday: Dragonfly Dreams

Taking a quick break to share with you another look at the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set and the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits.  Can you guess what DSP (Designer Series Paper) I used to die cut the black and silver dragonfly outline? Check this post for a BIG hint.

Have you figured it out?  If not, here's a list of all the supplies I used to make this card.

I love how the silver foil lines of the spider web design from the Halloween Night DSP is transformed.  It's been fun trying different ways to use this design now that Halloween is long gone.

Hope you enjoyed this sneak peek at the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set and Detailed Dragonfly thinlits.  They will both be available in the upcoming Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog beginning January 4th!  If you want another look at this bundle, here's another card I shared using this bundle.

Have a great Sunday!

Wonder of Christmas and the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge

I have really enjoyed stamping with the Wonder of Christmas stamp set.   This set is retiring and I am going to miss the sweet angel.  I wanted to use her for this week's Create with Connie and Mary sketch.

CCMC437

Wonder of Christmas www.sharonburkert.com

I used a new doily that will be available on January 4th as part of the Occasions catalog.  What is especially neat about these doilies is that on one side they are white and the other vanilla.  Isn't that too smart?  I did just a little coloring on the angel  Aqua Painters and re-inkers.  I used Wink of Stella on her wings to add some extra shimmer.

Wonder of Christmas CCMC437side

I also used the Fancy Frost Specialty DSP.  This DSP is great and adds a lot of texture.  I finished the design off with the ever luxurious Silver Satin ribbon.

I have a lot of stamping to get done and quick!  Be sure to check out what the rest of the design team created for this challenge.  Thank you for stopping by and I hope you will join in the fun and submit a project!

Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop...Punch Art

Blog hop header

Welcome to another Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop!  This month we are focusing on Punch Art.  Honestly, I was a little stumped on what to share with you until I remembered I had another card from the Bunch of Blossom stamp camp that I never shared.   I know I shared the tree but this card not only features a cute punch tree but a fun fold too.

The tree and star are all from the Blossom Builder punch.  I loved the versatility of this stamp set and punch.

Try Stampin' on Tuesday

Are you scrambling and working on getting your Christmas cards and shopping finished or are you all done?  Whether you are rushing about or kicking back I hope you take some time and join us in the Try Stampin' on Tuesday Challenge.

01

This fun sketch was created by one of the Design team members, LeAnne.

Merry Medley stamp set www.sharonburkert.com

I used the fun and happy Presents and Pinecones DSP to make the 3 panels.  I stamped the  Merry Medley stamp in Emerald Envy and cut it out using the Stitched Shapes framelits.  It is hard to see but I covered the circle with VersaMark ink and then embossed it using a mix of Clear Embossing powder and Dazzling Diamonds glitter.  I wanted to add a little sparkle to the card.

Fun Fold Friday: Balloon Adventures

This is not only Fun Fold Friday, it is also a sneak peek!  I am sharing one of the projects we made at my last team meeting using the Lift Me Up stamp set(Occasions catalog) and the Carried AwayDesigner Series Paper(Sale-A-Bration).

Lift Me Up stamp set Carried Away DSP www.sharonburkert.com

I love this new stamp set.   This was a must have for me.  We live far away from where most of our family so this sentiment is one I will be using a lot.  The images in the set are also gender neutral so it solves that man card problem that plagues me.

Lift Me Up stamp set, Carried Away DSP www.sharonburkert.com

Product List

The Carried Away DSP is one of the Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration choices.  What is Sale-A-Bration?  Beginning January 4 (start of Sale-A-Bration), you get to choose  a free item of your choice from the SAB brochure for every $50 you spend (before shipping and tax)  The choices this year are spectacular! If you do not already have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator that you work with, let me know and I will send you the new Occasions catalog and the Sale-A-Bration one too!  Back to the Carried Away DSP.  The designs were made to coordinate with the Lift Me Up stamp set and since the paper is double-sided the other side has more neutral designs.  I have been playing with the paper and set so be ready to see a lot of samples with these two products!

I have a tutorial HERE of how to make your own Sliding Easel card.
