Special Reason and That Old Black Magic
February 19, 2017
It is so nice having Watercolor Pencils again. Time to revisit some of those techniques we used to do, like Black Magic.
I stamped the flower on black card stock with White Craft ink. Let the white ink dry, you can speed up the drying process by using a heat tool. I used the Daffodil Delight pencil and colored over the white ink. The White Craft ink allows you to color on the black card stock, which is pretty magical. The center of the flower was colored in with the Pumpkin Pie pencil. I used the White Craft ink again to stamp the sentiment and the Delicate Detail border. Since this is a craft ink you can use it to heat emboss which is what I did.
The leaves were cut with the Stylish Stems Framelits in Garden Green card stock. Doesn't it look like I used two different greens for the leaves? Here's what I did. I cut both the leaf base and the detail in Garden Green. I inked up the base with VersaMark ink which darkens it just a little and then layered the detail die cut over. If you are thinking this layout is familiar you are right. I shared a very similar card here.
