Oh So Succulent and the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #455

Where has the week gone?  It is hard to believe it is already Thursday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge.   You know what else I have a hard time believing?  I have a hard time believing that the Oh So Succulent stamp set and Succulents Framelits are retiring!  Yes, it is true.   I know I haven't played with them nearly enough.   That is my way of telling you that you may be seeing this bundle a lot in the next few weeks.

Here's the Create with Connie and Mary sketch for Challenge #455.

CCMC455

I am also going to miss the Succulent Garden DSP.  I am especially fond of the Sweet Sugarplum gingham check. I stamped lots of different succulents using the same colors that are in the DSP.  It was fun mixing and matching and creating my own little succulent arrangement.

Cake Crazy and the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #454

It's Thursday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge.  This week it is a color challenge.

CCMC454

I wanted to use the adorable Cake Crazy stamp set from the Occasions Catalog.  This stamp set allows you to create and decorate the cake of your dreams without having to dirty a single dish.   This stamp set will not be carried over to the upcoming annual catalog so if you need to order it soon.

I am sure going to miss the polka dot DSP that was a part of the Designer Paper stacks.  The DSP stacks are retiring and the last time I checked were still available.  I did notice that the Brights stack were marked as "Low Inventory".

Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop...April Edition

Blog hop header

Welcome to the April edition of the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop!  This month we are all using one or more of the following stamp sets:

Dragonfly Dreams
Jar of Love
Banners for You
Touches of Texture
Swirly Bird
Beautiful You

Jar of Love stamp set www.sharonburkert.com

I decided to use a set that I have not used much lately, Jar of Love.  I didn't want to use the jar image and instead wanted to create a springtime wreath.   I used one of the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits as the wreath form and built my wreath on it.

Jar of Love www.sharonburkert.com

There was definitely a lot of die cutting going on!  Lots and lots of leaves were stamped and cut, this could be why I chose not to cover the entire wreath with flowers and leaves.

Next up on the hop is Laura Milligan.  I know she has something beautiful to share with you!

It is Thursday which means it is time for the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge!  This week we have a super fun sketch.

CCMC453

Basket Bunch stamp set www.sharonburkert.com

I had a lot of fun arranging my flowers and leaves to make this pretty bouquet.  I made flowers using Peekaboo Peach, Watermelon Wonder, and Flirty Flamingo and leaves and grass from Cucumber Crush.   These happy and bright colors are just right for spring!

Dragonfly Dreams

I made these cards a while ago and I just realized I never shared them with you.  They are exactly the same except for one small difference.  Can you spot what is different?

Card 1

Dragonfly Dreams www.sharonburkert.com

Card 2

Dragonfly Dreams www.sharonburkert.com

Yes,  card 1 has smaller more delicate splatters and card 2 has larger more obvious splatters.  Card 1's splatters were made by tapping a Gold Wink of Stella over the Whisper White card stock . Card 2's splatters were made using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp and embossing it in gold embossing powder. So which one do you like better?

Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #452

Time for the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #452!  This week it is a Color Challenge!

CCMC452

Sahara Sand is one of those colors I don't use much.  I don't really know why because i think it looks good with just about everything.

So in Love Bundle www.sharonburkert.com

I used the Mini Treat Bag thinlits to create the pocket for my card.  The card insert measures 3-5/8" x 5-1/2" so it fits in an A2 envelope.

So in Love Bundle www.sharonburkert.com

Are you wondering how I did the flower inlays?  I cut a strip of vellum and laid it under the die cut strip and glued the flowers on to the vellum.

Cool Treats Again!

I hope you are not tired of my cards using the Cool Treats bundle.  It is such a fun suite of products that I reach for it a lot.  I really liked the whole suite and couldn't resist buying the washi tape too. I have a bad habit of buying washi tape and not using it.  I promised myself that this time I would use it and not just look at it.

 Cool Treats bundle www.sharonburkert.com

Isn't the washi tape the cutest?  Now you can see why I had to buy it!  I started by laying down three rows of washi tape and then cutting and creating the ice cream to go on the side.
