Try Stampin' on Tuesday Challenge #321

Ready for a fun challenge?  I hope you will give the Try Stampin' on Tuesday challenge a try.  Here is this week's sketch.

TSOT #321

Sketch TSOT321

Optional theme:  As the Garden Grows

I am still playing with the last bits of my Pop of Pink Designer Series Paper.  I decided to pair it with the new Daisy punch that will be available  starting June 1 when the Stampin' Up! 2017-18 Annual catalog goes live.

I also used a new stamp set called Label Me Pretty for the sentiment.

Remarkable You and the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge

It is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge.  Ready for the colors?

CCMC456

Let's talk about this combination.  Love Mint Macaron, love Old Olive, and Tip Top Taupe is a great neutral but do they really "go" together?  The problem I had was the Mint Macaron and Old Olive.  I just couldn't make it work so I sort of cheated.

Remarkable You, www.sharonburkert.com

I first inked the leaf image in VersaMark and then in Tip Top Taupe ink and stamped it on Shimmery White card stock. I covered the image with clear embossing powder and then heat embossed it.  I used an Aqua Painter and lots of water to float the Mint Macaron and Old Olive colors and to blend them. It is important to use either Shimmery White card stock or Watercolor paper.  Whisper White and Very Vanilla card stock do not work as well as they absorb the water too quickly and it is difficult to blend the colors.

Let me tell you about this cute little tag.  Both the little circle of dots and the sentiment are from the Eastern Beauty stamp set which is part of the Eastern Palace Suite.  This is a suite of products that will be available in the upcoming Stampin' Up! catalog (June 1!).  This month you have your choice of 2 bundles that include the Eastern Beauty stamp set and some bonus items.  These bundles will only be available in May.  I will be showcasing more of the bundles in the coming days.  You can also go here for more information about the Eastern Palace bundles.

Going to Miss You: Pop of Pink Designer Series Paper

I like to think that the Pop of Pink Designer Series Paper (DSP) was made just for me.  I love everything about it.  I mean seriously black, white, and Melon Mambo with polka dots, stripes and gold accents, what is not to like?  I was sad to see this lovely pack of paper on the retiring list.  The only good news is that it is at a special price of $7.80, while supplies last.  Be sure to get a pack or 2 before they are gone!

What else did I use on this card that is retiring?   One of my favorite little punches, the Bitty Butterfly!  This little punch is not going to be flying away from my stamp room.  I decided I am going to keep her and she will continue to make appearances on my cards.  One last item I used that is retiring is the sentiment from the Picture Perfect stamp set.  It is hard to find sentiments to fit into the little gap between the panels.  This sentiment is perfect as it is simple but bold font.
