Beautiful Bouquet and the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #464

It is Thursday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #464.  This week the challenge is to pick one of the Foxy Friends layouts on page 105 of the Stampin' Up! catalog to use as inspiration for our project.  I love all the samples shown and in fact have them marked "to make".

Here's what I made and I think you can tell pretty easily what layout I used for my inspiration.

Daisy Delight and the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge

Gingham, ruffles and daisies, oh my!  Today's card for the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #463 features some of my favorite things from the new 2017-18 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog. First things first, here is the challenge.

CCMC463-2

Daisy Delight bundle www.sharonburkert.com

Here is the bad and good news.  The bad news is the Daisy Delight bundle is not currently available.  The good news is that it will be available in just a few days (the projected date is June 26th!)  Yay!   This stamp and punch bundle is so fun and worth the wait.  I think daisies and gingham go together perfectly so I also used the yummy new Night of Navy Gingham ribbon.   Between you and me, I want this ribbon in more colors especially Real Red and white and black and white.  Here's hoping!

I also used the new Ruffled 3-D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  I love the ruffly look and am also looking forward to using it for sand and waves.  Lots of possibilities.  The congrats is from the Sunshine Wishes thinlits.

Be sure to check the Create with Connie and Mary blog for all the details on how to play along with the challenge.  You can also see all the other lovely cards that were created by the other members of the design team.

Beautiful Bouquet and the Try Stampin' on Tuesday Challenge

It is Tuesday and time for the Try Stampin' on Tuesday Challenge.  Lately, I have been building bouquets of flowers using the Beautiful Bouquet bundle (stamp set and Bouquet Bunch framelet dies) and it is just the perfect set of stamps and dies for this week's sketch challenge.

Try Stampin' on Tuesday #327 optional theme: All Pastels or All Bolds

TSOT Sketch327

Beautiful Bouquet bundle www.sharonburkert.com

I used a strip from one of my very favorite Designer Series Paper (DSP) packs called Whole Lotta of Lovely.  It is a beautiful pack of paper.  Fabulous designs and the colors are just gorgeous.  The only bad thing is since the papers are double sided you have to choose which design to use and when both sides are fabulous, it is a difficult choice.

Birthday Blooms Sheet Music

Have you noticed all the fabulous background stamps in the new Stampin' Up! catalog?  There are 5 new ones and they are terrific.  If you saw the title of this post then I guess you know which one I am using today.

Birthday Blooms Sheet Music www.sharonburkert.com

The Sheet Music background stamp is a classic and so versatile. Today I paired it with my go-to image from the Birthday Blooms stamp set.  I seem to always pull this stamp set out when I want to color.  I embossed the image in white on Shimmery White card stock and used an Aqua Painter with Berry Burst and Wild Wasabi ink to color.

Did you notice the sequins?  They are from the Metallics Sequin assortment.  I love the subtle pinkish iridescent shine they have, just perfect to add just a little more interest.  I have to tell you about the ribbon.  This is the 3/8" Shimmer ribbon and it comes in Basic Black, Pear Pizzaz, Pool Party , and Powder Pink.  Simply gorgeous ribbon!  It has a subtle shimmer and is a dream to tie.

Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #CCMC462

Time for the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge.  This is a Case the Catalog challenge and this week the inspiration is a card on page 43.  You can chose to either be inspired by the colors or the sketch.

CCMC462

This week it was the colors for me. Island Indigo, Pool Party, and Lemon Lime Twist.  I love this color scheme!

Window SHopping set, Ribbon Support framelits www.sharonburkert.com

I definitely kept it simple this week.  Are you wondering where that cute little flower is from?  It is from the Ribbon Support framelits which coordinates with the Ribbon of Courage stamp set.  What is tricky is that there is no stamp that coordinates with this particular die.  I just love the shape and detail of this flower.

You know what else I am loving?  The strips of Foil Frenzy Specialty DSP.  Those 2 little strips just help add a little shine and even more happy to the card.

Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop...June Edition

Blog hop header

Welcome to the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop!   This month's theme is masculine cards.   Yikes!   Fortunately, I had an idea which actually passed the masculine card judge aka as my husband.

Marbled background www.sharonburkert.com

I kept the card very simple focusing on a strong color combination and the gorgeous marbled background.  Before you go looking at your catalog to see what pack of Designer Series paper this is from, I will tell you it is a stamp!  This is the new Marbled background stamp.  I know, it is amazing!  This is going to be a fun stamp to play with.

Marbled background www.sharonburkert.com

Since the card is pretty simple I decided that adding a little fun fold would make it a little more interesting.

Marbled background www.sharonburkert.com

I have featured this fold before and have even written a tutorial for it!  You can see other ideas using this fold here,  here, and here.  If you are interested in the tutorial here is the link.

Saturday Spotlight on Sunday

Saturday morning I woke up thinking, I should do a Saturday Spotlight on some fun new accessory on my Facebook page. Why I even mention this is that generally I am not one of those lucky people who wakes with lots of ideas, having dreamt about them all night.  I usually wake up thinking about heading downstairs and making coffee or wondering if I can wait until my husband wakes up and let him make coffee.  So when I wake up with an idea it is a big deal and I have to implement it, before I forget.

I decided to shine a spotlight on the 2017-19 In Color Bitty Bows.  These little bows are so darn cute.  They are quick and easy to use and if you do not like to tie bows, these just might be the answer.  They are made of felt and come with adhesive on the back, so all you have to do is peel and stick.  It doesn't get much easier than that.

Since this wasn't a planned project I had to make something to share.  Here is the first thing I made using the Beautiful Bouquet bundle.

Beautiful Bouquet bundle www.sharonburkert.com

Love this new bundle.  The stamp set has 37 pieces!  Lots of great sentiments in a lovely font.  I used a Fresh Fig Bitty Bow and it was a lot easier and quicker than tying a little bow.

Is it Manly?

I know this sounds like a game show question...Is It Manly?  Remember this blog hop post?  This is the second card I made and it didn't pass the manly test, at least according to my husband.  He said it was a nice card but wouldn't commit to manly.

Bike Ride masc

I questioned him extensively about specifically what about it wasn't manly.  He said the basket wasn't manly especially the hearts and also the dog just wasn't quite right.  I kind of get what he means not about the dog or hearts but maybe the overall vibe is more cute than manly.  So that leads to another question, can manly be cute?
