Test Tube Tuesday

Is Test Tube Tuesday really a thing?  No, it probably isn't but maybe it will become one now that test tubes are available in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog.

AstheInkDriesTestube

I used the Clear Tiny Treat Boxes in the Annual Catalog as the base for my test tube holder.   The cute Halloween paper is from the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper which is secured to the lid of the box with the Black Shimmer Ribbon.  The black cat is also punched out from the Spooky Night DSP using the Cat Punch. The pumpkins are stamped using the Pick a Pumpkin stamp set and cut out with the coordinating Patterned Pumpkin Thinlit dies.  Remember when you buy this stamp set and coordinating dies (the Pick a Pumpkin bundle) you save 10%.

Are you wondering what I put in the test tubes?  The test tubes are food safe and accommodate lots of different treats.  I filled these with sunflower seeds!  I am always on the lookout for different treat ideas and I already had some sunflower seeds  on hand.

Give Thanks

AstheInkDriesPickaPumpkin

It is hard to believe that there is only a week left in  September.  As much as I love the fall season it is still hard to say goodbye to summer. One consolation is that there are so many fun and fabulous fall products in the Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog to help us welcome Autumn.  One of the bundles I had to have was the Pick a Pumpkin bundle.  I knew the images would be great for Halloween and Thanksgiving.  Here I paired it with the sentiment from the Painted Harvest stamp set.

  AstheInkDriesPickaPumpkin1a

The large outline pumpkin is one of the dies in the Patterned Pumpkins thinlits that doesn't have a corresponding stamp image.  I love these bonus dies.  I cut it out of Gold Foil paper and carried the gold theme with the Gold Glimmer paper  leaf and the Year of Cheer Washi tape.  I like to mix the different textures  to create more interest.

The card is a simple Z fold card.  It is a simple fold.  To make this fold I cut the card base at 4-1/4" x 11"and scored it at 2-3/4" and 5-1/2".  It is easy and a nice way to change up your cards.

Quick and Easy Treat Box

AstheInkDrieshersheytreat

I love the Acetate Card boxes that are in the Holiday catalog.   They are great for packaging up cards and treats too.  I found these little candy bars that were all dressed up for Halloween.  I wanted them to stay upright and organized in the box so I placed them in the 2" x 8" cello bags and then into the acetate card box.  To make the little gift even more festive I made a belly band using the images from the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper. Did you know that the Patterned Pumpkins Thinlit Dies cut out the pumpkins featured on the Spooky Night DSP?  Isn't that awesome?!  I love how there is so much coordination between the products in the Holiday catalog.  I also used the Cat punch to punch out the cats that are also on the Spooky Night DSP.  The sentiment is from the Spooky Cat stamp set.

Oh So Eclectic and the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #476

It is time for the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge!  I am trying to balance using stamps from the Holiday catalog and the Annual Stampin' Up! catalog.

Here is the sketch for the challenge.

CCMC476

This sketch is just perfect to use washi tape.   I am determined to be a user of washi tape and not just a collector of washi tape.

AstheInkDriesCCMC476

I used  2 of the patterns in the Pick a Pattern Wash Tape.   This washi tape comes in 4 different color collection,  I love the black and white set since I use black and white a lot.  I added the Real Red flowers that were stamped with the Oh So Eclectic stamp set and cut out the outlines and flowers using the Eclectic Layers Thinlits.

AstheInkDriesOhSoEclectic

I added another strip of the Pick a Pattern Washi Tape inside of the card and another flower and leaf.  I like to dress up the inside of the card too.  I hope you will play along with the challenge.  Be sure to check out what the other members of the design team created for this sketch challenge.

Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop...Color Challenge

Blog hop header

Welcome to the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop!  The theme for this month is a color challenge!  Ready for the colors?  Fresh Fig, Tranquil Tide, and Very Vanilla.   Yummy colors right?

I decided to use one of my favorite sets from the Stampin' Up! Annual catalog which was released, way back in June! Doesn't  it seem so much longer ago than that?

AstheInkDriesSDBH917

Tranquil Tulips is still one of my favorite hostess sets.  I think it looks quite elegant in this color combination.  If you are wondering why it looks a little grainy it is because it is covered in Dazzling Diamonds glitter and Clear embossing powder.  It is very sparkly!

I used the Diagonal Stripe background stamp to create my own DSP (designer series paper).  Love the look of the Fresh Fig ink on the Fresh Fig card stock.

Happy Halloween and the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #475

Thursday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge!  This week it is a color challenge.

CCMC475

I was at a loss of what to make.  I decided to look through my Designer Series Paper stash  and see what papers might work.  I pulled out the Foil Frenzy Specialty DSP and knew it was the perfect paper to use.   I cut out 2 of the pillow boxes from the Trim Your Stocking Thinlits Dies and made a cute Halloween treat box.

The pillow box is just the right size to fit a few mini candy bars in it.  The box goes together easily and will make a sweet treat for someone.  Be sure to check out what the other design team members created for the challenge.  I know you will be inspired.

Seasonal Lanterns and the Try Stampin' on Tuesday Challenge #339

Time for the Try Stampin' on Tuesday Challenge! This sketch really challenged me.

TSOT339

I decided to take a few liberties with the sketch and simplify it.  Here's what I made.

AstheInkDriesTSOT339

I hope you can still see the "bones" of the sketch in my card.  I used the Seasonal Lantern bundle (Seasonal Lantern stamp set and the Lantern Builder Framelits Dies) to create the lantern and the candle arrangement.  The sentiment is from the Remarkable You stamp set.  I masked off some of the sentiment so it says  "Grateful For You" instead of "And I'm So Grateful For You".

Hearts Come Home

Here's another way to use the Striped Treat Bags.

AstheInkDriesMerry&Bright

I cut the sides and bottom of the bag off and used the front of the bag as patterned paper.   I love the wide gold and white stripes.

AstheInkDriesMerry&Brightdescription

If you are thinking that the Foil Snowflake looks very un-snowflake like, you are right.  The snowflake was a little too big for the space so I used one of the circle dies and cut it down.  I love how that totally changed the look of it.   I also created a washi tape border with the 2 different washi tapes.
