Year End Sales Event!

Year end sales 2017

It's hard to believe that it is December already!  Today marks the beginning of Stampin' Up!'s Year End Sales Event! What does that mean?  There are select items from the Holiday Catalog that are on sale!  It also means that we know which items from the  Holiday catalog that will not be available for purchase after January 2!  The biggest thing to remember is that the items retiring are only available while supplies last!  If you see something on the list especially if it is on sale be sure to grab it quickly as it might be sold out the next time you look.

Be sure to pay attention to the asterisks *.  If you see 2 asterisks (**) it means there are products in the bundle that are NOT retiring.  If you see 3(***) asterisks it means the bundle will no longer be available at the special bundle price after January 2, 2018.

Here's a few projects previously featured on the blog that contain items that are retiring.  If you click on the picture it will take you to the blog post that it was featured on.

Joy and the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge

Time for the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge!.   Another lovely sketch to work with.

AstheInkDriesCCMC486

The snowflakes were cut using the Trim Your Stocking Thinlit dies.  I wanted a little sparkle so I cut them out of the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper.  Are you wondering where the "joy" is from?  I used the Mini Treat Bag thinlits die that says "enjoy" and did a little cutting.  I love finding more ways to use my dies.  The DSP I used is the Merry Little Christmas DSP.  The colors in this paper pack are Basic Black, Whisper White, and Old Olive. These colors are a little non traditional for Christmas.  I love them and especially love the black and white check.

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I am taking a little break from Christmas cards to share with you a card using the Graceful Garden stamp set.

AstheInkDriesGracefulGarden

I love this large rose image.  It is another fun image to color.  I made the background using a technique called Ink Smooshing.  Super fun to do and each time you do it you will get different results.

I have written a tutorial on how to make this card.  Click here if you would like the tutorial.  Enjoy!  If you need any supplies please feel free to contact me or order through my online store.

Window Box Thinlits and the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #485

Happy Thanksgiving! It is Thanksgiving here in the US and I am feeling especially thankful and grateful.   My son arrived last night (yay) and we are leaving soon to spend the day with even more family.

Today also is the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #485.  This week it is a color challenge.  The colors are not exactly what I think about when I think of Thanksgiving.  However the combination is a lovely one and it does make for a nice thank you card.

AstheInkDriesCCMC485

Can you tell from the picture the color combination?

  CCMC485

I used the Window Box thinlits to create the peekaboo border.  I was happy to discover that the square thinlits in the set line up just about perfectly and fit along the edge of a standard card.  I love the colors peeking through the cut outs.  You know what else is great?  TheWindow Box thinlits are 10% off through the 26th!  Yes, it is part of the Online Extravaganza!

Hope you are having a wonderful day and you are one of the things I am thankful for.

Festive Phrases and the Try Stampin' On Tuesday Challenge #349

Time for the Try Stampin' on Tuesday challenge.  The design team members alternate weeks and it is my week.  Here's what I made.

AstheInkDriesTSOT349closed

Here is the sketch we were to use.

TSOT349

The optional theme is Silver Bells or Easel Card.

AstheInkDriesTSOT349

I chose to use the optional theme and made an easel card.  I used the super cute elf from the Festive Phrases stamp set in the Holiday catalog.  I colored him in using Stampin' Blends and a little paper piecing.  The tree is from the Santa's Sleigh stamp set in the annual catalog and cut out using the Santa's Sleigh thinlits.  The Santa's Sleigh thinlits are on sale now (10% off) until November 26th.  (If you want to see another card using the Santa's Sleigh stamp set and bundle go here.)  Here is a list of all the products I used to make this card.

Product List

This card measures 3-1/2" x 5".  This is a mailable size here in the US.  I hope you will join in the challenge and be sure to check out all the details on the Try Stampin' on Tuesday Facebook group or on the blog.

Be sure to check out all that is on sale now from Stampin' Up!  Get ready for another one day sale in a few days!.

Painted Autumn DSP and the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge

It is Thursday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge.  This week we have another great sketch.

CCMC484

Here's what I made with the sketch.

AstheInkDriesCCMC484

The only stamping I did on this card is the sentiment, which is from the Remarkable You stamp set.  The flowers and the banner are both from the Painted Autumn DSP.

AstheInkDriesCCMC484close

I fussy cut the flowers and then brushed the petals with Wink of Stella to add a little shimmer.  I also applied some Fine-Tip glue to the center of the flowers to add some shine and dimension.  Two simple ways to add a little more interest to the card.

Be sure to check out what the other designers have created for this sketch.  I hope you too will join in and try your hand at the challenge.
