Sending Lots of Love

Have you ever gotten an idea into your head for a card and after a little bit realized that it wasn't a great idea after all?  I like how this card turned but it wasn't as quick and easy as I thought it would be.  Let me show you and I think you will see what I mean.

AstheInkDriesLotsofLove

All those little tags!  All those little bows!  All that lining up, in an attempt to get the tags even and straight!  You can tell that  I gave up on the even and straight part and went for pretty even and kind of straight.

The little tag is about 3/4" tall and it is from the Bouquet Bunch framelits.  They are so cute.  The red glimmer hearts were cut using the heart die from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits.   The sentiment is from the Hanging Garden stamp set embossed in white.

This card would make a great Valentine's card.  I hate to mention it but Valentine's Day is coming up pretty quick!

Simple Sunday: Celebrate You Thinlits

Need a quick and easy card?   Have some patterned paper scraps and/or washi tape?  Well here you go!

AstheInkDriesCelebratethinlits

I also used the fabulous Celebrate You thinlits in the Sale-A-Bration catalog.   These thinlits are free with a $100 purchase and will also be available in the 2018-19 Stampin' Up! Annual catalog.

Product List

This card is super fast to make and can be used for lots of occasions.  The hardest past is just picking out some coordinating papers or washi tape to use.

Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday!

Ribbon of Courage and the Support Ribbon Framelits

I like a good surprise.  Remember I said good surprise.  An example of a good surprise is the flower and leaf die that comes in the Support Ribbon Framelits die set.   It is a great flower and different from my other flower dies.

AstheInkDriesRibbonofCourage

Isn't it a super cute flower and leaf?  I paired it with one of the sayings from the Ribbon of Courage stamp set.   This sentiment gets used a LOT by me.  It fits a lot of situations and you know I am a big fan of the two font look.  Are you wondering where I got the Smoky Slate striped paper from?  I made it!  Yes, it is the Diagonal Stripe Background stamp turned so it is no longer diagonal.

AstheInkDriesRibbonofCourageside

I used the largest circle Stitched Shapes framelits for the Real Red layer and the second to the largest circle (Layering Circles framelits) for the Smoky Slate stripe.

I'm happy with  how this card turned out.  I think it will brighten up someone's mailbox real soon.  I like it so much that I am entering it in the What Will You Stamp Challenge#152, #WWYS152.

Flying Home and the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #494

It is Thursday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #494!

AstheInkDriesCCMC494

If you haven't guessed by now I have been having so much fun with the Flying Home stamp set.  The images are so sweet and coloring can be quick or more detailed, either way it seems to turn out.  I do wish there were coordinating framelits so it would be easier to cut out those cute little birds, bee and butterflies.

Did you notice that I used a bird from the A Good Day set?  She's the Pool Party and Daffodil Delight bird on the lower left.   I thought she looked like she belonged with this flock.   The background paper is from the Sale-A-Bration paper pack, Bubbles & Fizz.  This DSP is free with a $50 purchase and coordinates with the Bubble Over stamp set.   The gorgeous Pool Party ribbon is part of the Shimmer Ribbon pack which is another Sale-A-Bration choice.

This was a fun card to make and here's this week's sketch.

Be sure to check out what the other design team members created for this sketch.   I hope you will join in and  post what you create on the Create with Connie and Mary Facebook page.

A Good Day

The Good Day stamp set was not originally on my must have list.  Every time I looked at the Occasions catalog the more I liked it.  I like the simple sweet images in the set and knew I would make good use of the different sentiments.  As you can probably guess I do not have much willpower when it comes to stamps.

AstheInkDriesAGoodDay

This was my first card and it is sweet and simple.   I have always loved this template and the gingham ribbon is just perfect.  You will be seeing more variations of this design in the days to come.

Oh So Eclectic and the Try Stampin' on Tuesday #354

Taking a little break and using one of my favorite sets from the SU! Annual catalog.  I can get so wrapped up in using the new stamp sets and accessories that I forget to use products from the Annual catalog.

This is the sketch for the challenge with the optional theme of Metallic

Fruit Basket Makeover

Last November I attended Stampin' Up!'s On Stage event.  As you might have guessed we always do some make and takes.  One of the make and takes used the Fruit Basket stamp set and the Itty Bitty Fruit Punch Pack.  SUper cute little tags!

AstheInkDriesFruitBaskeetredo

I was working on a display of samples and couldn't figure out how to best display these  little tags so I decided to give them a little makeover.

AstheInkDriesTuttiFruttimakeover1

I decided to make them in to note card size (finished size of 3-1/2" x 5")  cards.   I added a strip of paper from the Tutti Frutti 6" x 6" DSP, some Real Red enamel dots and some Real Red ribbon.  So cute, right?  I had to use some retired Real Red ribbon because the only current Real Red ribbon is only 1/8" wide and just didn't look right.   The note cards come with envelopes and are made from a nice thick card stock.  This size of note cards are mailable too!

AstheInkDriesTuttiFruttimakeoversweet

The only thing I added to this card besides the actual note card  was a strip of Tutti Frutti DSP.   I was able to re-use the ribbon that was originally on the tag.  Now I have 2 cute note cards to display and hopefully inspire my guests.

Magical Day Mermaid and the Sharks

Last November, I received the Magical Day stamp set at Stampin' Up's On Stage event.  Honestly, this would not have been a set that I would normally have ordered.  I guess Prize Patrol works in mysterious ways because now that I have gotten a chance to play with it, I love it!

AstheInkDriesSLmtg1-18favor

Aren't these fun?  I made a few of these as favors for a meeting.  The sentiment is from the Picture Perfect Birthday set and I am a big fan of the sentiments in that set. Treat yourself is a perfect sentiment for all those little treats we like to make and give.

Did you notice the glittery turquoise heart?   That is one of the colors from the Myths & Magic 6" x 6" Glimmer paper.  The Glimmer paper pack comes in Iridescent, light green, and turquoise.  You get 8 sheets of each color in the pack.  Love!

I am so happy that I got this set and am enjoying expanding my stamping horizons!

Flying Home and the Petal Garden DSP Stack

Everyday I go for a walk.  I have been pretty lucky this winter and have been able to get out and walk in between rain showers.  Today I wasn't so lucky.  While I was out walking (in the rain) I started thinking about spring.  Once I got home and got dried off I made this card.

AstheInkDriesFlyingHome

I used the lovely Petal Garden DSP stack with the super cute Flying Home stamp set.  Don't they look like they were made for each other?  I colored in the image using the Stampin' Blends.

AstheInkDriesFlyingHomeside

I used the Calypso Coral ribbon from the Sale-A-Bration Shimmer Ribbon Pack.  This ribbon is very easy to work with and makes very pretty bows.

Product List

It was fun to mix products from the Annual catalog, Occasions catalog, and Sale-A-Bration catalog.  Remember you can receive the Shimmer Ribbon pack for free with a $50 purchase.  If you need any of the catalogs and do not have a SU demonstrator I would be happy to send them to you.
