Amazing You and the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #495
February 01, 2018
I know you have heard me say this many a time, this week's challenge was a tough one for me. Strangely enough I had a concept of what I wanted to make and the card actually came together pretty easily. The tough part was deciding if I liked the card I made. I went from thinking I should probably make another sample to I like it.
Here are the colors for the Challenge.
Are you wondering where these colors are from? I think they were inspired by the colors in the Painted with Love DSP.
I embossed the flower from the Amazing You Sale-A-Bration set with gold embossing powder on Shimmery White card stock. To color the flowers I used an Aqua Painter and Rich Razzleberry ink refill. I fussy cut the flowers and surrounded them with gold foil leaves cut using the Eclectic Layers Thinlits. The "love" die cut is from the Sunshine Wishes thinlits and cut it in both gold foil and Melon Mambo. The Melon Mambo was laid on top of the gold foil to give it a gold shadow.
This is what I really like about participating in challenges. They force me to stretch and try new combinations and ideas. Sometimes they turn out, sometimes they don't, either way I learn something.
This week you really need to check out what the other members of the design team created. The cards are all so different and inspiring.
Such an elegant, fabulous card! I LOVE it!
