Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop...Take 2

Blog hop header

Welcome to the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop Take 2!  We are in the last few weeks of Sale-A-Bration 2018 and I think this was one of the best ones yet!  There were so many great gift choices when you placed a qualifying order and Stampin' Up! has made it even better with even more choices!

One of the stamp sets I adore is the Blossoming Basket stamp set.  This is part of a bundle that was in the second release of Sale-A-Bration products.  This beautiful stamp set is bundled with the Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing folder which means you receive both with a $100 qualifying order.  The Basket Weave Embossing Folder will be available again in the 2018-19 Stampin' Up! Annual catalog but the Blossoming Basket stamp set will not.  If you want this beautiful basket image, butterfly, tag, and 2 sentiments you will need to get it during Sale-A-Bration.

This fold is called a Center Step Easel Card and I first saw this style of card on Amanda Bates' blog a few years ago.  It is a very fun fold and once you get the pattern down it is not difficult to make.

Product List

Beginning March 15, there will be even more choices available with a $50 and $100 qualifying order.  Click here.

Sale-A-Bration 2018...Springtime Foils DSP

Yes,  I am back with another sample using the Sale-A-Bration Springtime Foils Specialty DSP (Designer Series Paper).

This time I colored the flowers using Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive Stampin' Blends.  When I was done coloring, I swiped the surface using the Tuxedo Black Memento pad.  I wiped off the excess ink with a paper towel.

Product List

I also used the Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing folder which is also a Sale-A-Bration choice paired with the Blossoming Basket stamp set.  The sentiment is from the Heartfelt Blooms stamp set.  Can you tell I am just loving this year's Sale-A-Bration choices?  Just a little more than 2 weeks left to get your free Sale-A-Bration gifts.  Contact me or shop online with me here.

Lots to Love Box and a Pot of Gold

Here's a fun little box perfect for St. Patrick's Day.

It all started when I found these chocolate coins at the store and knew I had to make something with them.  Thinking about gold coins made me think about a pot of gold and that is how this project came to life.  Finally I can say that I found that elusive pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

The box was made with the Lots to Love Box Framelits.  I cut  Emerald Envy card stock to 4-1/4" x 4-1/2", you will need 2 of these.  The 4- 1/4"side  is the length of the box.  I lined the flap  of the die to the edge of the card stock and cut the box.    This makes a finished box of about 2-3/4"x 3"  and holds 7 gold coins.

The trickiest part of this project was the rainbow.  It would have been so much easier if I had the Rainbow Builder Framelit Dies but since I don't I needed to improvise.  I cut strips of Real Red, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, Emerald Envy, Pacific Point and Eggplant Envy.  I glued them on to a piece of black card stock to keep them together.  I used the same die that I used to cut out the window to cut the edge of the rainbow and hand cut the rainbow using the corner of the box as a guide.

Are you wondering where the "lucky" came from?  It is from the Charming Cafe and is part of the sentiment, "I am Lucky to have a Friend like you".  I used a black marker to color in the word and stamped it.

Wondering how I made the pot and the shamrock?  I used the heart design from the Window Box thinlits to cut out the hearts.

This thinlit cuts out 2 sizes of hearts.  I used the larger hearts for the pot.  When I shared this project with  my club some people also made the shamrock with the smaller hearts to put next to the lucky.  It was adorable.

I love my little pot of gold and until I found the real one, this one will do!

Sale-A-Bration 2018...Springtime Foils DSP

The Springtime Foils Specialty DSP is so pretty.   Part of me wants to hoard it because I know I won't be able to get it after Sale-A-Bration ends.  I am trying to fight that feeling and just enjoy the loveliness while I can.

Quick and easy card that uses 3 Sale-A-Bration choices!

The beautiful foil images were colored using the Calypso Coral and Old Olive Stampin' Blends.   This card would work for lots of different occasions.  I plan to make more in different colors and not stamp a sentiment until I am ready to send the card.

Product List

Sale-A-Bration ends on March 31.  Don't wait too long to place your order for your free Sale-A-bration gift with a $50 order, items are only available while supplies last.

Blossoming Basket Bundle

Let's talk about the Blossoming Basket Bundle.  This bundle is not available for purchase, it is a FREE gift available during Sale-A-Bration when you place a order of $100.  The bundle includes the Blossoming Basket stamp set which is a 5 piece set and the Basket Weave Dynamic Embossing folder.   AstheInkDriesBlossomingBasket3-6

Don't you love the basket weave texture with the basket image?  This image is easy to color especially with Stampin' Blends.  I used the Daffodil Delight and Crumb Cake Combo Packs and the Old Olive and Night of Navy Light Stampin' Blends.  The stamp set  includes two sentiments.  The "for you" on the card is part of the  sentiment that says, "Here for you".   I wanted a  generic sentiment since I am not sure who I am sending this to.  Love the versatility.

Product List

We are in the last month of Sale-A-Bration.  Be sure to place your order soon, to avoid any disappointment. The Basket Weave Dynamic embossing folder will be available in the 2018-19 annual catalog.  Unfortunately the Blossoming Basket stamp set will not so if you love how the two products coordinate be sure to get the bundle during Sale-A-Bration.

Sweet Soiree Embellishment Kit and the Try Stampin' on Tuesday Challenge

Do you know how to play tic tac toe?  This week the Try Stampin' on Tuesday challenge has a fun challenge based on the game of tic tac toe.  You have to create a card based on the items listed in the box and how you want to "win", horizontal, diagonal, or vertical.

Can you tell which  line I used  to create my card?

Tic-tac-tue-2 tsot

I went right along the middle and used Dies Cuts, Flowers and Vellum.  When I saw those elements I immediately thought of the Sweet Soiree Embellishment kit.  I used the lovely floral and vellum die cuts to create the border.  This was a super quick and easy card to make.  The elements were already embossed and colored.  I just had to punch them out and arrange them.

I just realized that I also have another tic tac toe.  I also have the diagonal  Ribbon/Twine,  Flowers, Dots.  I really should have added some glitter then I would have had a third tic tac toe of Glitter, Vellum, Dots.

The Sweet Soiree Embellishment kit is a great one to have on hand for making quick cards and DIY packaging.  All the work has been done for you and you have to do is arrange the elements and you are done.

For more information on the challenge and how to play along go to the Try Stampin' on Tuesday blog and/or the Try Stampin' on Tuesday Facebook  group.  I hope you will join in the challenge and see which way you will tic tac toe.

Beautiful Day Birthday

Recently I held a birthday card class.  One of the projects was a feminine card using the Beautiful Day stamp set.

Everyone enjoyed coloring the flower using an Aqua Painter and the Berry Burst ink refill.  It took a little practice but everyone's flowers turned out so pretty.  We used the Leaf Punch which is a carry over item from the Holiday catalog.  I set up my Stamparatus with the sentiment so everyone had a perfectly straight sentiment which made everyone so happy.  I think everyone is looking forward to getting their own Stamparatus.

Blossoming Basket and the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #499

It is time for the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #499 and oh my, what a challenge it is or at least it was for me!

I am using the beautiful new stamp set, Blossoming Basket.  This lovely stamp set is a bundled with the Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Embossing folder and is one of the 3 items added to the Sale-A-Bration choices.  This bundle is free with a $100 order during Sale-A-Bration.

Back to the challenge.  This week it is a color challenge and looking at my card I am not sure you would be able to figure out what 3 colors were in the challenge.

I think Sweet Sugarplum looks great with the Pool Party and I think Pool Party looks good with Flirty Flamingo but I am still not sure if Flirty Flamingo looks good with Sweet Sugarplum.  I totally took the easy way out and just used the Sweet Sugarplum and the Pool Party as little accents and focused on the Flirty Flamingo.  The 3 large flowers are all colored with Flirty Flamingo ink refill and an Aqua Painter.  I played with different amounts of water and ink to get 3 different shades.

Along the edge of the card I used one of the Petal Pair embossing folders.  The Flirty Flamingo striped ribbon makes me think of springtime.  The three little dots were made by cutting out the circles using one of the dies in the Mini Treat Bag thinlits.  I attached the dots to the card and then carefully added Fine-Tip glue over the top of them to make them shine.

Be sure to head over to the Create with Connie and Mary blog and check out what the other members of the design team created.  So many good ideas that I wish I had thought of!
