Goodbye Garden in Bloom

Another stamp set that I am sad to see retire is Garden in Bloom.   This is a great set to show off Two-Step stamping.

Wild About Flowers and the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge

It is Thursday and time for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.  This week it is a color challenge.

CCMC511

What makes this Color Challenge special is that it features Emerald Envy which is a retiring In Color.  I will miss this bright, bold color!

AstheInkDries-CCMC511

I wanted to use Wild About Flowers stamp set one last time before it retires a the end of the month.  I have used this set a lot and you can see some of the past projects here,  here,  here here, here,  here,  here, and  here.

Are you wondering what Designer Paper  I used for the bottom portion of the card?  I used a stamp in the soon to be released stamp set, Lilypad Lake inked in Emerald Envy on Pool Party card stock. I believe this stamp is supposed to represent the ripples on a lake but doesn't it  also make a great design when turned vertically?

Abstract Impressions and the Try Stampin' on Tuesday Challenge #366

Mixing some retiring products with a new stamp set for the Try Stampin' on Tuesday challenge #366.

TSOT 366

This is a great basic sketch and one that can be used for lots of different occasions.  Definitely a keeper.

AstheInkDries-AbstractImpressions-TSOT366

I used the soon to be released Abstract Impressions stamp set.  This stamp set is one that I will reach for often.  It is a big set (21 photopolymer stamps) with great images and sentiments.  I only used 2 colors of ink on this card.  You can get 2-3 different intesities of color from the same pad by inking the stamp and stamping "off" the image 1-2 times before stamping it on your project.

Sharing Sweet Thoughts Split Card

It took me a while to realize that the Sharing Sweet Thoughts stamp set and the Tutti-frutti Designer Series Paper were meant for each other.

AstheInkDriesSharingSweetTHoughtsA3

These coordinating prints from the Tutti-frutti DSP are happy and bright.   The prints and patterns are perfect for this time of year.  Get a pack now before it retires .

AstheInkDriesSharingSweetThoughtsA1

The little sentiment peeking out from the split is from the A Good Day stamp set which is carrying over to the 2018-19 annual catalog.

Measurements:

Card base: 4-1/4" x 7-1/4", 3-1/8" x 4-1/4"

DSP 1:  1-1/2" x 4"

DSP 2: 2-7/8" x 4"

Inside card: 4" x 5-1/4"

The 2 parts of the card are held together by Stampin' Dimensionals attached to the top and bottom of the circle.

Hope you like today's card!  Remember to grab your Sharing Sweet Thoughts stamp set and Tutti-frutti DSP before they retire.

Flying Home Wreath Card

The Flying Home stamp set will soon be retiring.  It was one of my favorite sets in the Occasions Catalog.

AstheInkDries-FlyingHomeMay18

There are lots of retiring products on this card.  The colors I used are Tangerine Tango and Peekaboo Peach, both are retiring.  I also used the 3/8" Striped Grosgrain ribbon in Peekaboo Peach.

I also used the Layering Squares framelits and the Softly Falling TIEF both will be in the new catalog.  The sentiment is from the Bunch of Blossoms stamp set  will also be in the upcoming catalog.

Daisy Delight and the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #510

Today's Create with Connie and Mary Challenge is a sketch.

CCMC510

Here's what I made using the sketch.

AstheInkDries-CCMC#510

I haven't used the Daisy Delight stamp set or the Daisy punch in quite a while.  I stamped the daisy in the new In Color, Lovely Lipstick.  To keep everything bright and fresh I added the new  6" x 6" In Color DSP in Pineapple Punch and Lovely Lipstick.  This new DSP is practically perfect.  The pack of paper is made up of 40 sheets, 4 each of 2 designs (dots or stripes).  I am looking froward to getting this paper in all the Color Collections.

AstheInkDries-CCMC510side

I also cut out the sentiment from the Happy Birthday thinlits.  I did a little cutting and removed the Birthday so I can use this card for all kinds of occasions.

Please join in the challenge and try your hand at creating a card using the sketch.  You can get all the information on how to participate by visiting the Create with Connie and Mary blog.

Rooted In Nature for Love a Tree Day

Did you know that May 16 is Love a Tree Day?  When I saw that I knew I had to create a card using the Rooted in Nature bundle.  This new bundle is gorgeous and coordinates with the much loved Lovely as a Tree stamp set.

AstheInkDries-RootedinNature-May16

I sponged Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Rich Razzleberry ink on a piece of Whisper White card stock.  I then stamped one of the tree images from the stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

AstheInkDries-RootedinNature-May16close

The Nature's Roots framelits is a 12 piece set of dies, three of the dies emboss and do not cut.  You can see in the picture above the embossing over the stamped image.  I love this look and it certainly adds to the versatility of this bundle.

How are you going to celebrate Love a Tree Day?

Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop...Color Challenge

Blog hop header

It is time for another Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop!  This month we have a color challenge.

Flirty Flamingo is currently a 2016-2018 In Color and will be returning as a color in the Brights Collection.  Marina Mist will be retiring as a color in the Subtles Collection and Old Olive is currently a color in the Brights Collection and is being moved to the Regals Collection.

AstheInkDries-AccentedBlooms-SDBHMay2018

Let me introduce the Accented Blooms stamp set.  This set is in the upcoming 2018-19 Stampin' Up! Annual catalog.   I love this set.  It is very versatile and oh so pretty.  The set will be available on June 1st.

I embossed the image with white embossing powder on Shimmery White paper. This is the paper I use most of the times when I color. I love the subtle shimmer of the paper and that it doesn't absorb water quickly, allowing me time to move around the color.  I used ink refills and an Aqua Painter to color in the image.
