Paper Pumpkin Pop Up Blog Hop...Broadway Star

28576489_10216314905810036_5229522907894174650_n

Welcome to the Paper Pumpkin Pop Up Blog Hop! We are all fans of this monthly crafting kit and want to share with you our enthusiasm for this box of fun and creativity. The beauty of the Paper Pumpkin kit is that you can follow the directions provided in the kit to make the projects as they were designed, or use the supplies as a starting point and let your creativity run wild. On this hop we will be sharing lots of ideas with you on how to use  this month's Paper Pumpkin kit: Broadway Star.

This month's Paper Pumpkin kit is the first time the kit also coordinates with  a product suite in the Stampin' Up! Annual catalog.  Can you guess what suite it is?  It is called the Broadway Bound Suite and can be found on page 69 of the catalog.

When I opened the Paper Pumpkin box I was so happy to see a black and white striped card bases.  You know I have a thing for black and white and stripes.

AstheInkDries-PPBroadwayStar

The first thing that came to mind was to make a box.  This box and lid were made from 2 card bases.  In fact everything I used on this project was in the Paper Pumpkin box except for the Black Satin ribbon which is part of the Broadway Bound suite, the purple star candle, and the surprise inside of the box.

Now you can see a little bit of what is inside.  I decorated the package with some of the many elements in this month's kit.

AstheInkDries-PPBroadwayStarcake

Have you figured out what the package is?  It is a packet that makes an individual brownie cake in the microwave.  The person who gets this will be able to make themselves a little cake and use the purple star to make a wish.  Honestly I have no idea what the cake tastes like.  I just think it is such a fun little gift.

Jar of Love and the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge

This week's Create with Connie and Mary Challenge was a tough one.  I spent more time than I care to admit on this card, well not the card I actually am showing you but the many others that ended up in the recycle bin.

AstheInkDries-JarofLove

The challenge was to use the sample on page 119 of the Stampin' Up! catalog as inspiration.

CCMC516

Please say you can see the layout in my card. One of the new products I used is the Delicate Lace Edgelits, in Whisper White card stock.  There are 3 different edgelits in this set and they are all beautiful.  This is an edgelit so you can make it as wide as you need because just the edge cuts.  The card base is Flirty Flamingo which was an In Color but is now part of the Brights Collection.  The sentiment is from the Accented Blooms stamp set punched out with the Tailored Tag punch.

AstheInkDries-CCMC516side

The stamp is  Jar of Love.  This is a much loved and used stamp set and dies.  It was great fun to pull them out and use them again.  I have been consciously trying to mix new products with items I have that are still current from past catalogs.

I hope you will join in the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge #516.  I really would love to see what you create using the card on page 119 as inspiration. Be sure to stop by and see what the other members of the design team created.  They always have fabulous ideas and cards.

Painted Glass Clean and Simple

I am in a clean and simple card making mode.  There is nothing difficult about these card.  The hardest thing is getting the sentiment straight and I used the Stamparatus so even that was a cinch.

AstheInkDries-PaintedGlass-June27A

The sentiment is from the Soft Sayings card kit.  I used the same sentiment on all these cards.  Using the Stamparatus is great, once I had the sentiment  positioned I could use it on all the cards.  The butterflies were colored using the Old Olive Stampin' Blends (light and dark) and the Pool Party Blends (light and dark).

AstheInkDries-PaintedGlass-June27Aside

I covered the butterflies with Fine-Tip Glue pen to create the shiny and slightly dimensional look of the butterflies.

The roses were colored using the Old Olive Stampin' Blends (light and dark) and the Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends (light and dark)

The birds were colored using the Pool Party Blends (light and dark) and the dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends.

AstheInkDries-PaintedGlass-June27Cside

It is hard to see that there is a layer of Wink of Stella on each bird.   You could easily package these cards in an Acetate Card box.   The cards are quick and easy to make and would be a great gift.

Hanging Garden Thank You

The Hanging Garden stamp set was first seen in the 2018 Occasions catalog.  I was happy that it carried over into the 2018-19 Annual Stampin' Up! catalog.

AstheInkDries-HangingGarden-June26

I used a variety of Stampin' Blends to color the baskets.  Coloring is quick and easy using the Blends. There is still no definite date as to when the new Stampin' Blend colors will be arriving.  I hope it will be soon!  .

The paper I used is part of the Subtles 6" x 6" DSP, which you know I think is a must have in every Color Collection.  Yes, I used the Solid Basic Black Baker's Twine, again.  I think I am becoming very predictable!

AstheInkDries-HangingGarden-June26side

I almost forgot to mention that cute little black jewel, which is part of the Faceted Dots embellishments.  The Faceted Dots come in 4 colors, Basic Black, Blackberry Bliss, Grapefruit Grove and Mint Macaron and in 3 sizes.  I used the smallest size Basic Black Faceted Dot.

If you still aren't sure you need this stamp set here are a couple of other cards I made HERE and HERE.

Painted Glass Butterflies for Simple Sunday

Time to revive Simple Sunday!  Today's Simple Sunday card is an easy one and fairly quick too.  It is a one layer card, thank goodness for Whisper White Thick card stock!  Thick Whisper White is the perfect weight for card bases.

AstheInkDries-PaintedGlass-June24

I used the butterfly from the Painted Glass stamp set and stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Bermuda Bay, Flirty Flamingo, and So Saffron card stock.  The butterflies were cut using the Stained Glass thinlits. The sentiment is from the Varied Vases stamp set.  The sentiment was stamped in VersaMark ink and embossed with white embossing powder.  Love the look of white embossing on black card stock.  To finish the card I added some sequins from the Iridescent Sequin Assortment.

AstheInkDries-PaintedGlass-June24side

I am leaving the inside of the card blank until I know exactly what occasion I am going to use this for.  This card and layout can be used for so many different occasions.

Beautiful Bouquet Birthday

Beautiful Bouquet stamp set and the coordinating Bouquet Bunch framelits are some of my favorite returning products.  Today I have paired them up with some of my new favorites,  the Delicate Lace Edgelits and the 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper.

AstheInkDries-BeautifulBouquet623side

I started by cutting a base of stems in Mossy Meadow and then adding the different flowers to create my bouquet.  All the flowers are Whisper White card stock stamped or sponged in Bermuda Bay, Blushing Bride, or So Saffron.   Once the flowers were attached I added additional leaves in Mossy Meadow.

AstheInkDries-BeautifulBouquet623

The card base is Crumb Cake card stock.  I used the Neutrals stack of 6" x 6" DSP for the striped layer and the lacy polka dot border.  Having the 6" x 6" Designer Series packs is a must have.  No matter what color you choose, you will have coordinating DSP when you purchase these paper packs.  The sentiment is from the Varied Vases stamp set.  Love that  font!

Tropical Chic and the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge

It has been very sunny and warm here.  Since I cannot be at the beach sipping on a slushy fruity drink I am playing with the Tropical Chic stamp set and coordinating Tropical thinlits.

AstheInkDries-TropicalChic-CCMC515

I made this card for the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge #CCMC515.  This week we are using the card on page 52 for inspiration.   You can use the color scheme, layout, stamp set and/or whatever else inspires you based on this card.

CCMC515

The Tropical Escape DSP makes me smile.  The colors and patterns are cheerful and bright exactly how your tropical escape should be.  Don't you love how the designs coordinate so well?  I think it is a fresh and fun pack of paper.

AstheInkDries-TropicalChic-CCMC515side

The only item I used on this card  that is not part of the Tropical Escape suite is the sentiment.    I used the the happy birthday sentiment from the Hand Delivered host stamp set.

I hope you will join in the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. Be sure to stop by the blog and check out what the other design team members created.

A Big Thank You

I was so happy to see a "thank you" thinlit in the new catalog.  It was even better to see that it was part of a great bundle, A Big Thank You.

AstheInkDries-ABigThankYou-620

I love the inlaid look but don't always love gluing in all the little pieces.  Here's a cheater method that I used.

AstheInkDries-ABigThankYou-step1

First cut out the thank you on  a piece of Whisper White card stock.  Adhere another piece of Whisper White card stock the same size to the back.

AstheInkDries-ABigThankYou-step2

Attach a piece of Multipurpose Adhesive sheet to the back of a piece of Basic Black card stock and then run the die and card stock through the Big Shot.  Remove the backing from the Multipurpose Adhesive sheet and then place it in the Whisper White  matching up the letters.

AstheInkDries-ABigThankYou-620side

The flowers are from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set and the Bouquet Bunch framelits stamped in all of the 2018-2020 In Colors.

Here's a list of all the products used.  You can click on any of the pictures and will be taken to my Stampin' Up! website.

Tropical Chic and the Try Stampin' on Tuesday Challenge

I grew up in Hawaii so as much as I try to resist I always end up purchasing stamp sets that remind me of the islands.  This is what happened to me with the Tropical Chic stamp set and the Tropical thinlits.   When it came time to place my first order from the new catalog I ended up ordering all the of the products in the suite.  So much for trying to resist the lure of the tropics.

AstheInkDries-TropicalChic-TSOT369

This is what I made for the Try Stampin' on Tuesday Challenge # 369.   The optional theme is scrap busting.

TSOT#369

I made a striped background using 1" strips of Night of Navy card stock spacing the strips about 1/4" apart on a Whisper White background.

AstheInkDries-TropicalChic-TSOT369side

I stamped the tropical leaves in Granny Apple Green and then cut them out using the Tropical thinlits.  The flowers were stamped  Lovely Lipstick  and Melon Mambo.
