Garden Impressions DSP for Simple SUnday

If you haven't guessed by  now I am a fan of the Garden Impressions DSP and also the 6" x 6" DSP that comes in every Color Collection.  Today for Simple SUnday I using them together!

AstheInkDries-Enjoy Life-7-2

The top and the bottom pieces of DSP are from the Garden Impressions pack.  The Melon Mambo stripes is from the 6" x 6" Brights DSP.  I love having coordinating stripes and dots in all the colors!  The sentiment is from the Enjoy Life stamp set stamped in Shaded Spruce with little Melon Mambo butterflies from the stamp set,all on a Whisper White stitched circle.  I also used the Silver and White Baker's twine.

ICS Blog Hop Paper Palooza...Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper

ICS bloghop

Welcome to the Inspire, Create & Share Blog Hop!   We are so excited to share with you lots of ideas and inspiration using the Designer Series Paper in the Buy 3, Get 1 Free promotion.  I chose to use the Tropical Escape DSP.  I was born and raised in Hawaii so I was drawn to the pretty colors and images of this package of paper along with the entire Tropical Escape Suite.

AstheInkDries-July7

On my card i used 3 of the designs from the Tropical Escape DSP.  Here you can see 2 of the designs.  I love that the  DSP is designed so one side of the paper is more patterned and the flip side is more neutral.  This makes it easy to use all the papers and mix and match patterns.  I stamped lots of leaves and flowers from the Tropical Chic stamp set and cut them out using the Tropical Thinlits die.  These 2 items can be purchased individually or as a bundle (10% off when you buy them as a bundle!).

AstheInkDries-July7open

The card is free-standing and would also be a great way to display a photo.  Here are the measurements and scoring I used to create the card.

Shaded Spruce card base:  5-1/2" x 8-1/4" scored at 2", 3", 5-1/4", 6-1/4"

Shaded Spruce focal panel: 3-1/4" x 4-1/4"

Tropical Escape DSP

    floral and foliage: 2 @ 1-3/4" x 5-1/4,  1 @  2" x 5-1/4"

    Blushing Gride w/white dots:  2@ 3/4" x 5-1/4"

white with Granny Apple Green lines:  3" x 4"

AstheInkDries-July7side

Here you can see where the Blushing Bride and white dot DSP is hiding.  The lovely ribbon is the Granny Apple Green 1/2" Textured Weave ribbon.  This ribbon also comes in Gray Granite and they both coordinate beautifully with the Tropical Escape DSP.

Now it is time for you to hop on over to see what the talented  Audra Monk has created for you.

Beautiful Bouquet for Floral Friday

I am so happy to have the color, Poppy Parade back in the Stampin' Up! Color Collection.  Today I paired it with Calypso Coral and they were made for each other.

AstheInkDries-BeautifulBouquet-76

Since I pulled out the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set and the coordinating Bouquet Bunch framelits out last month I find myself reaching for them a lot.  It is almost like they are new to me, so lovely to rediscover them.

Did you see?  I am using my washi tape!  The black and white strip of washi along the side of the card is from the Pick a Pattern assortment.  In fact, recently a rare spotting in my craft room occurred.

Have you ever seen one before?  Do you know what it is?  An empty roll of washi tape!!  Working on stopping the hoarding and actually using my washi and all the other beautiful things.  Wish me luck!

Bunch of Blossoms and the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge

Are you enjoying all the new Stampin' Up! colors?   This week the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge has a color challenge featuring 3 new Stampin' Up! colors; Mango Melody, Blueberry Bushel, and Gray Granite.

CCMC517

This color combination is  from page 53 of the Stampin' Up! Annual catalog.  ** When you are looking for new color combinations check out the colors in the Designer Series paper and the coordinating card stock packs.  Lots of great color ideas!

AstheInkDries-CCMC517

Lately I have been trying to use just 1 or 2 stamp sets on a card.  On today's card I used 3, Bunch of Blossoms for the flower, A Big Thank You for the Gray Granite border, and Enjoy Life for the sentiment.

  AstheInkDries-CCMC517side

I also used the Blossom Builder punch to create the flower.  To create the flower petals,  I inked the outline image full strength and the bold image was stamped off once to get the lighter Mango Melody color.  The center of the flower was also punched from the Blossom Builder punch in Blueberry Bushel card stock.  The Blueberry Bushel flourish was cut using the aptly named Flourish thinlits.  Love that thinlit!

Stop by the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge blog and be inspired by the cards created by the other members of the design team.  You can also get all the information on how you too can participate in this week's challenge.

The Rooted in Nature stamp set and the coordinating Nature's Roots framelits are a perfect match for the Wood Textures DSP.  I stamped some leaves from the Rooted in Nature stamp set in Shaded Spruce to add some color and for some shine a leaf die from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits in Copper Foil.

Painted Glass Butterfly for Simple SUnday

Time for another Simple Sunday card.  I am using the Painted Glass stamp set again.  This card was created because I had a leftover butterfly from another project and had to find a way to use her.

AstheInkDries-PaintedGlassButterfly-notecard

I have to tell you that the Subtle Embossing folder is amazing.  It adds just that little bit of texture that is interesting but not distracting.  I highly recommend it.  The sentiment is from Dragonfly Dreams and is embossed in white.  There is just something so dramatic about white lettering on black card stock.  The little butterfly was colored using Stampin' Blends and then covered with Fine-Tip glue.  The glue adds a little shine and dimension.  The rhinestones were added to step it up a bit but is not necessary.
