Painted Harvest and the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge

Time for the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge!  This week it is a color challenge.  I decided to use the Painted Harvest stamp set for this challenge.

Here's the colors we were to use for the challenge.

CCMC529

Isn't it a great color combination?  Love the way these colors look together especially the Blueberry Bushel and  Highland Heather.

I couldn't decide which way to stamp the card so I did it in both landscape and portrait orientation.  I used the exact same products just changed the orientation.

Beautiful Baubles in Gorgeous Grape

Had a fun play with the Beautiful Baubles stamp set and Detailed Baubles thinlit dies using a non traditional color combination of Gorgeous Grape and Granny Apple Green.

AstheInkDries-BeautifulBaubles

The ornaments were stamped in VersaMark ink not quite 2 times and then heat embossed with gold embossing powder. The sweet little baubles were then colored using ink refill and an Aqua Painter.  There is a die to cut out the ornaments which makes it very easy and quick.  Tell me what did we ever do before the Big Shot?

Peaceful Poinsettia and the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #CCMC528

If you haven't figured it out, I am in deep with the Peaceful Poinsettia stamp set and the coordinating Detailed Poinsettia thinlits, aka the bundle.

Peaceful Poinsettia bundle

I think I have made more cards using this set than any others, so far  from the 2018 Holiday catalog.  It was the set that came to mind when I saw the sketch for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #528.

CCMC528

AstheInkDries-CCMC528

Isn't that poinsettia beautiful?  Every time I make one of these big flowers (here, & here) I fall deeper for this set and framelits.  Are you wondering how I got the poinsettia card stock outline to stick on the Sparkle Glimmer paper?  I used the Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  After I apply it to the Poppy Parade outline,  I placed it under something heavy to help set the glue.  So far it has worked like a charm.  I used the new Black Stampin' Blends (found on page 49 of the Holiday Catalog) to color in the Rhinestones.  I used a Black Stampin' Write Marker and colored in the peace, which is part of a larger sentiment in the Peaceful Poinsettia stamp set.

Signs of Santa

What can I say, I could not longer resist the adorable Signs of Santa stamp set.

AstheInkDries-SignsofSanta-midriff

One thing led to another and I also had to order the Santa's Workshop Specialty DSP. Besides being absolutely adorable the DSP has flocking on it.   On my sample above the white stripes are flocked.   It both looks and feels good.   One side of each paper has some flocked elements.

I could have cut Santa from the DSP using the dies in the Santa's Signpost.  Instead I decided to stamp  Santa and color him in using Stanpin' Blends.  He is such a jolly fellow and a snap to color.

Country Home and the Country Lane DSP

I have another half pocket card this time using the Country Home stamp set and the coordinating Country Lane DSP.

AstheInkDries-CountryHome-halfpocket

Did you notice that I used Early Espresso ink to stamp the vase and the flowers?  This was an experiment to see if i could use the Classic ink pads with Stampin' Blends.  This is the only time I have tried it and it worked!  Now this is not a tried and true thing and I will have to do a lot more testing to make sure it works in all cases.  If you try it, let me know your results.

AstheInkDries-CountryHome-halfpocketopen

Don't you love that sentiment?  It is such a good reminder.  The Country Home set is just a perfect set since it has both great images and sentiments.

Dashing Deer and Under the Mistletoe DSP

The Dashing Deer stamp set and coordinating Detailed Deer thinlits were on the top of my list of must haves from the Holiday catalog.  On today's card I paired it with the Under the Mistletoe DSP for a fun split front card.

AstheInkDries-DashingDeer-midriff

Love  mixing and matching the fun patterns in the Under the Mistletoe DSP.

Under the Mistletoe dsp

Here's a close up of the beautiful deer.

AstheInkDries-DashingDeer-midriffdeer

Can you see the beautiful coopery finish on the deer?  Doesn't it totally change the look of the Early Espresso card stock?  Fill a Stampin' Spritzer with alcohol and add a drop or 2 of the Bright Copper Shimmer Paint (page 38),  shake well and spritz.  I love the shine and  shimmer it adds to the project.

AstheInkDries-DashingDeer-midriffside

The sentiment is from the Beautiful Baubles stamp set and I love the mixing of the 2 fonts.  Did you notice the red nose?  It is a new item added to the Basic Jewels.  You get a sheet of 220 Red Rhinestones that are all the same size (3mm).   Love new bling!

Country Home and the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge

I am using the gorgeous Country Home stamp set for today's Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge.  Here are the colors for this week's challenge.

CCMC527

I used an Aqua Painter with ink refills and played with varying  amounts of water to achieve the different intensities of color.

AstheInkDries-CountryHome-CCMC527

It was fun to  see how soft and light Pacific Point can become when it is thinned  with a lot of water.

The Poppy Parade 1/2" ribbon is from the Holiday Catalog.  This ribbon also comes in Gray Granite and Granny Apple Green in the Annual catalog.

Be sure to check out what the other members of the design team created using this color challenge and I hope you play along  and post your creations on the Create with Connie and Mary Facebook page.

Peaceful Poinsettia and the Try Stampin' on Tuesday Challenge

This week the Try Stampin' On Tuesday Challenge is a Tic Tac Toe Challenge.

TSOT tic-tac-tue-5

I decided to use the diagonal of Green, Die Cut, and Dimension for the win!

AstheInkDries-TSOTttt5

The green I used is Call Me Clover which is one of the 2018-20 In Colors.  I love how bright and cheerful it looks paired with Real Red.  I cut the Real Red poinsettias using the Detailed Poinsettia Thinlit dies.  I wanted to create a dimensional background using the big poinsettias. To make this task easier I attached Multipurpose Adhesive sheets to the back of the Real Red card stock before I cut out the poinsettias.  This made it much easier to adhere the poinsettias to the Call Me Clover card stock.  The sentiment is from The Stylish Christmas stamp set.

Santa's Workshop Memories & More for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge

Oh my, the Santa's Workshop Suite is so cute!  I finally broke down and ordered a lot from the Suite including the Santa's Workshop Memories & More Card Pack.  These cute little cards can be used for memory keeping/pocket scrapbooking and cards!    Here's the sketch for this week's Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.

CCMC526

Using the Santa's Workshop Memories & More Card my card came together quickly.  The hardest part was deciding which card to use!

AstheInkDries-CCMC526

How cute, right?  I used the card just straight out of the pack and layered it on a piece of Garden Green card stock.  I used the Santa's Workshop Specialty DSP for the red and white strips.   This pack of paper is simply adorable.  Some of the designs have white flocking and so they not only look good but feel good too!  The sentiment is from the Star of Light stamp set in the Annual catalog.  This just may be the quickest card I have made in a long time.

Now you need to go over to the Create with Connie & Mary blog and check out how you can play along and see what the other design team members created.  Hope you play along with us!

Happy Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog Debut!

Today is the day!  You can now order from the new Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog!  Yay! If you haven't seen the new Holiday catalog you can click on the link on the right hand side of  my blog or CLICK HERE.

AstheInkDries=Peaceful Poinsettia-SoftSeafoam

Right about now you are thinking that the Peaceful Poinsettias bundle is the only new stamp set and framelits I own.  While that isn't true it is the bundle I have played with the most.

Today's card is a riff on the sample that is in the Holiday Catalog on page 23.  The catalog sample is a bag. I thought it would also look great as a card. This is  the first time I used the new color, Soft Seafoam.  This color combination of Soft Seafoam, Shaded Spruce and Real Red may just become a new favorite.  Did you see that there are new Stampin' Blends in the Holiday catalog?  I used the new Real Red and Shaded Spruce  Blends (page 14 of the Holiday Catalog) on the card.

Here's a supply list on what I used on today's sample.  If you are interested in a particular product click on the picture and you will be taken to my online store for more information.
