Takeout Treat box and the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge

It is Thursday and time for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge!  This week we have a color challenge and oh what a timely color combination it is!

CCMC533

Isn't this combination perfect for Halloween?

AstheInkDries-CCMC

I used the Takeout Treat Box to make this cute Halloween treat.  One of the dies in the Takeout Thinlits cuts out the window.  I cut a slightly larger piece of window sheet so my "mummies" would stay in the box.  The sentiment is from the versatile Itty Bitty Greetings set.  I used Stampin' Write markers to create the two tone saying.  The pumpkin leaves are from the Detailed Leaves thinlit.  To make the spirals, I wrapped a thin strip of Granny Apple Green cardstock around a wooden skewer.  To finish up my project I  used the 1/4" Mini Striped Ribbon in Gorgeous Grape.

Be sure to check out what the other members of the design team created. I am always inspired by their projects.

Falling for Leaves and the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge

Time for the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!  This week the challenge  is this sketch.

CCMC532

We have been experiencing the most beautiful fall weather here in the Pacific Northwest.  It is the perfect mix of  bright blue skies, sunshine and  the hint of chill in the air.  The changing colors of the leaves are just spectacular against the blue skies.   We really enjoy and cherish these days.  Winter here can be a little gloomy and gray so we don't take these beautiful fall days for granted.

Anyway back to the challenge.

AstheInkDries-CCMC532

Still playing with the Falling for Leaves bundle.    This time I paired it with the Country Lane DSP and the Mint Macaron twine which is part of the Nature's Twine.   I love the combination of the 2 fonts which gives the sentiment a fresh and modern look.   The sentiment is one I will be using a lot,  we have so much to be thankful and grateful for.

Be sure to check out what the other design team members made for this challenge.  I hope you too will play along!

Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop...Happy Fall Y'All!

  Blog hop header

Welcome to the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop!  We are celebrating Fall! Every season has its beauty  but is there anything prettier than autumn leaves?

AstheInkDries-SDBH1018

These lovely leaves were all created using the Detailed Leaves thinlits.   These beautiful dies coordinate and compliment the images in the Falling for Leaves stamp set.    These items can be purchased separately or as bundle (save 10% when you bundle!).

I want to highlight the gorgeous Merry Merlot and Copper ribbon!  This ribbon is so pretty and it really needs to be seen to be fully appreciated.  It is a reversible ribbon.  One side of the ribbon is Merry Merlot and the other side is a shimmery copper Merry Merlot.  It is hard to describe so be sure to ask me to show you some samples with when I see you next.

The base of all this autumn goodness is the Kraft Pillow Box.  This is a handy box to have on hand, perfect to wrap a small gift or gift card.  Yes, a gift card fits inside!  I am going to make more of these to put at each place setting for Thanksgiving.

Time for you to check out the rest of the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop.  Here is a list of all the stops on the hop.

Rooted in Nature and the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge

Today's card for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge uses the Rooted in Nature bundle, Coffee Cup Framelits and the Detailed Leaves Thinlits.  The challenge this week is a color challenge and a combination that I know I will use again.

CCMC531

I love this trio of colors!

AstheInkDries-CCMC531

I have been thinking about stamping a card that combines a coffee cup with  leaves and this week's challenge was perfect for this.  I stamped the Rooted in Nature leaf in Blackberry Bliss and used a blender pen to pull the ink and color the leaf.  This is a super quick and easy way to add color.  The sentiment is also from the Rooted in Nature set.

There are 2 items I used on this card that I love and honestly want to use all the time.  The first is the Subtle embossing folder.  This folder just adds a bit of texture to the card stock.   In today's card the plain Mint Macaron layer looked perfectly fine but adding just that little bit of texture really finished the card.  The other item I used was the edge dies in the Detailed Leaves Thinlits.  I first cut the more intricate die on  Very Vanilla card stock.  I used the other edge die to cut the Blackberry Bliss card stock and layered together they create a beautiful lacy edge.  I fought the good fight and tried to resist buying the Falling for Leaves bundle but after using a friend's stamp set and dies, especially the edge dies I broke down and bought the set.  I will use the stamps and dies a lot, so it was a great decision.

Now it is time for you to check out the cards the other members of the design team created using this color combination.  I know you will be inspired by their creations!

Happy World Card Making Day!

Just sneaking in before the end of World Card Making Day to share a card using the Barn Door stamp set, Sliding Door Framelits,  and the Signs of Santa bundle.

AstheInkDries-SignsofSantaBarnDoor1

I have to confess that this is the first time I used the Barn Door and the coordinating Sliding Door framelits.  I don't know why I was so reluctant to use them.

AstheInkDries-SignsofSantaBarnDoor2

Isn't Santa so cute?  He is super easy and quick to color using the Stampi' Blends.  I also used the Santa's Workshop Specialty DSP as my guide on how to color him.
