Bloom by Bloom for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge

Hard to believe that it is the last day of January!  I made this card using the Bloom by Bloom stamp set weeks ago and I am happy to finally get to share it with you.  The Create with Connie and Mary challenge this week is a sketch challenge.

CCMC546-1

I seem to be drawn to a portrait orientation when I make cards, so I had to rotate things to conform to the sketch.

AstheInkDries-BloombyBloom-CCMC546

Love the bold and fun images in the Bloom by Bloom stamp set especially paired with the DSP from the Happiness Bloom pack.  I also used one of the sentiments in the Part of My Story set.  I think this stamp set gets overlooked in the Sale-A-Bration brochure.

PartofMyStory

I have used this set a lot and will keep it in my collection long after this year's Sale-A-Bration is over.

Needle & Thread in Mostly Black & White

This year I am trying something new, instead of resolutions I decided to do 19 in 2019.  Let me explain.  I chose 19 things to do this year.  These things range from one time projects to daily habits.

One of the 19, on my list was to blog 16 times in a month.  This I thought was a modest goal and something I could easily do.  I had originally had the idea that it should be 19 times but scaled it back a bit so I would be sure to hit this goal. This morning I counted up the posts I have written in January and counting tomorrow's post I was at 15!  All that to explain why I am posting later than usual.

AstheInkDries-Needle&Thread-PS (1)

Back to my comfort zone of using black and white with a little color, in this case Daffodil Delight.  Love the Needle & Thread bundle, especially the die  that creates the perforated/stitched design on the card.  I need more of these!  The strip of black and white gingham is from the Botanical Butterfly DSP which is one of the Sale-A-Bration choices and is free with a $50 purchase.  As much as I love the butterfly designs on this paper, I think the black and white gingham is my very favorite.

Spotlight on Bloom by Bloom

This week we are going to shine the spotlight on the Bloom by Bloom stamp set.

BloombyBloom

This 17 piece photopolymer stamp set is bold and is perfect for all kinds of occasions.  This is a two-step stamp set and you can mix and match the different elements to create all kinds of designs.  This stamp set is part of the Happiness Blooms Suite of products which includes the Happiness Blooms Designer Series PaperCalypso Coral Satin Ribbon, Enamel Dots, the Dot to Dot Embossing folder, the Bitty Blooms Punch Pack, Happiness Blooms Memories & More Card & Envelopes,  and the Happiness Blooms Memories & More Card Pack.

AstheInkDries-BloombyBloomflapcard

It was fun mixing and matching the different papers in the Happiness Blooms DSP.  I kept with the color scheme of Call Me Clover, Calypso Coral, and Night of Navy.  I used the largest Stitched Circle framelit and the largest Layering Circle scallop.  The "thanks" is one of the many words in the Well Written Framelit Dies.

AstheInkDries-BloombyBloomflap2

I used the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies to cut out these rectangles.  I use these dies a lot.  They are definitely a must have.

AstheInkDries-BloombyBloomflap3

Isn't it fun how the different flaps open to reveal a place to write a little note?  This card was a blast to create and I  will share measurements soon.

Check back to see more projects featuring this great stamp set and suite of products.  Hopefully, I will convince you that you too need this stamp set.

Butterfly Beauty Thinlit Dies

There are so many beautiful products in the 2019 Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog.  One of the prettiest dies is the Butterfly Beauty Thinlits.  This fabulous set of dies also coordinates with the Beauty Abounds stamp set and is also available as a bundle.

AstheInkDries-ButterflyBeauty

I love the white on white background.  It is simple and elegant.  I added a butterfly that was punched from the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper. The sentiment is from the Butterfly Gala stamp set, another must have stamp set.

Hey Love for a Simple Sunday Treat

Ready for a quick and cute treat for Valentine's?

AstheInkDries-HeyLove-dumdumcover

I had a bunch of Dum Dum lollipops and thought the little bird from the Hey Love set would be a perfect fit.  Here are the dimensions for the cover.

    Real Red card stock- 1-1/2" x 5" scored at 1/2", 2" 3", 4-1/2".

The little hamster/prairie dog cutie was feeling left out so I had to make one using him.

Hey Love for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #544

It is Thursday which means it is time for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.  This week we have a sketch challenge!  The sketch was a perfect one for me to incorporate the adorable little skunk from the Hey Love stamp set.

First the sketch.

CCMC544-1

Here's what I made using the Hey Love set and the sketch.

AstheInkDries-HeyLove-CCMC544

The patterned paper I used is from the All My Love DSP.  Once again Stampin' Up! created a beautiful pack of paper.  Lots of beautiful designs that can be used for all kinds of occasions. In addition to the Hey Love stamp set, I used the Forever Lovely set for the floating hearts.   It looks like I used a couple of different ink pads for the hearts but I only used one, Lovely Lipstick.  The stamp is a Distinktive stamp.  The way it is made creates the different shades.

Be sure to check out what the other members of the design team created for this challenge.  I know you be inspired by their creations!

Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop...Sale-A-Bration!

SDBH Banner

Welcome to the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop!  This month we are sharing projects celebrating Sale-A-Bration.  What is Sale-A-Bration?  Sale-A-Bration is a Stampin' Up!® promotion for the months January thru March.  In the US, when you place a $50 order (before shipping and tax) you can choose a gift from the Sale-A-Bration brochure.

On my card today  I am using 2 Sale-A-Bration choices, Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper, Part of My Story stamp set, and the adorable otter from the Hey Love stamp set  in the Occasions catalog.

AstheInkDries-HeyLove-SDBHJan19

Don't you think the Hey Love otter and the part of My Story were made for each other?  The otter looks like he is thinking about someone he cares about.  The otter was simply colored using Stampin' Blends.  The black and white check paper is one of my very favorite designs in the Botanical Butterfly DSP. The genius thing about this pack of paper is that one side has beautiful butterfly designs and the other side black and white designs.

I used the Stamparatus to stamp the sentiment.  I used the hinge step technique.  I positioned the stamp on the Stamparatus,  inked and stamped and then moved the plate to the next step on the hinge and repeated.  It is one of many cool techniques you can do using the Stamparatus.

Here's a look at the inside of the card.

AstheInkDries-HeyLove-SDBHJan19inside

I used another sentiment from the Sale-A-Bration set, Party of My Story.  I love how it coordinates so well with the sentiment on the front of the card.

Here is a list of all the stops on the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop.

Hey Love in the Product Spotlight

Have you seen  the Hey Love stamp set?   I had to buy this adorable stamp set and I know that I will be able to use it for more than just Valentine's cards. I like this set so much that I chose it to be my first Product Spotlight.

Spotlight on hey love

I can easily identify all the animals except for this little guy.

AstheInkDries-HeyLove-Jan13gopher

My best guess is that he is a gopher or maybe a prairie dog.  What do you think?  Whatever he is, he is pretty darn cute.

AstheInkDries-HeyLove-Jan13 (1)

Isn't this sweet?  I love the Balmy Blue Gingham Gala DSP paired with Real Red.  I did some quick coloring on the critters using Stampin' Blends and layered them using the Layering Squares Framelits.  I used the #2 square framelit (#1 being the smallest square) and the #3 scalloped square framelit (#1 being the smallest).

I used the Whisper White Note Cards.  These note cards are made with Thick Whisper White card stock so they are a nice heavy weight card base.  They also come with an envelope and are mailable.  They are priced at $6.50 for 20 note cards and envelopes, a great deal!

Hope you enjoyed today's card and a look at the Hey Love stamp set.

Forever Lovely and the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge

Ready for the Create with Connie & Mary Color Challenge?  Here we go!

CCMC543

Love this bright combination of colors!

AstheInkDries-ForeverLovely-CCMC543

I used the Forever Lovely bundle to create this card.  The only real tricky part about this card is I had to inlay the Call Me Clover little leaves and hearts.  Yes, those die cuts are tiny but using the Take Your Pick Tool made it SO much easier.

I think the large floral stamp in the Forever Lovely set is so pretty and so I had to stamp the inside of the card with it.

AstheInkDries-ForeverLovely-CCMC543inside

I made 2 versions of this card one with Calypso Coral ribbon  and one without.

AstheInkDries-CCMC543-foreverlovelybibbon

Not sure which I like better.  What do you think?
