Looking Back at Sale-A-Bration 2019

Today is the last day of Sale-A-Bration.   There is still time to place an order and get a free Sale-A-Bration gift or two.  I thought it would be fun to look back at some of the Sale-A-Bration projects I have shared over the past few months.

It starts with Butterflies, the Botanical Butterfly DSP! I shared this as a sneak peek here.

Next it was cupcakes!  Hello Cupcake was a bit controversial but I think it was so cute.  You can see the post here.

The 2nd release of Sale-A-Bration brought us All Adorned.  This set is full of possibilities.

The 2nd release also brought the Painted Seasons Bundle!  I fell hard for this bundle.  This sample pairs the Painted Season set with the Botanical Butterfly DSP.

AstheInkDries-PaintedSeasonsGingham

One of the reasons the Painted Seasons bundle spoke to me so much was the beautiful Painted Seasons DSP.  I was sorta, kindq using it very sparingly aka hoarding, the paper until it became available as a Sale-A-Bration choice all by itself!

Next, the Country Floral Dynamic TIEF came into my life!  That embossing folder combined with the Painted Seasons stamp set became my new go to.  This sample also showcases the Sale-A-Bration coordination More Than Words stamp set.

AstheInkDries-CCMC551

This card is probably one of my very favorites.  It mixes up so many favorite things that Sale-A-Bration offered.  There is the Painted Seasons bundle, the Country Floral Dynamic TIEF, SAB Coordination stamp set-More Than Words, and the Sale-A-Bration Coordination framelits-Four Seasons.

All Adorned Easel card

It is almost over.  Yes, Sale-A-Bration 2019 is just about done.  I have one more card featuring the All Adorned stamp set.

AstheInkDries-AllAdorned-FreshFig.peg

Here's a little pictorial on how I made the front using the Stamparatus.

AstheInkDdries-AllAdorned-SAPtute1

I positioned the stamp so it would stamp in a corner of the grid paper.  Yes, there is grid paper perfectly sized for the Stamparatus!

ASID-AllAdorned-SAPtute2 (1)

The Whisper White card stock was cut 3-3/4" x 3-3/4".  Position the card stock in the corner and stamp.

ASID-AllAdorned-SAPtute3

Rotate the Whisper White card stock positioning it again in the stamped corner.

ASID-All Adorned-SAPtute4

Repeat 2 more times.

ASID-AllAdorned-SAPtute5

I love how this looks and with the Stamparatus it is easy to do.

AstheInkDries-AllAdorned-FreshFig2

I used the Doily Builder thinlits to cut the Fresh Fig doilies.  I am sorry to say the the Doily Builder thinlits are no longer available.  I added the Faceted Dots on the doilies to dress it up a little more.

I have  been in an easel card making mode these last few weeks.

Dragonfly Dreams and the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #554

This week the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge is a sketch.  I knew  I wanted to use a patterned paper which made me think of  the Painted Seasons DSP which is available as  a level 1 Sale-A-Bration choice and a level 2 Sale-A-Bration choice paired with the Painted Seasons stamp set.

CCMC554

What to use for the little accents?  I thought about butterflies, birds and then it came to me...

AstheInkDries-CCMC554

Dragonflies!  I have been trying to look at my stamps, punches and dies from the annual catalog to mix in with my newer products.  I haven't used the Detailed Dragonfly thinlits in quite a while!  I cut them out in Early Espresso and knew i needed to fill in the wings.  I glued down the dragonflies and then cut out another set using Sparkle Glimmer paper.  I filled in the wings with the Sparkle Glimmer paper.  This was pretty but the Glimmer paper was too bright so using a cotton swab I colored the wings using Petal Pink ink.  This toned down the white and it worked better with the other colors on the card.

AstheInkDries-CCMC554-side

I added the "thanks" which I cut in Early Espresso card stock using the Well Written framelits (2019 Occasions catalog).  These framelits are some of my favorites, as you have probably figured out since I use them a lot.

Be sure to check out what the other members of the Create with Connie & Mary Design team created using this sketch.

Remember Sale-A-bration ends in just a few days!

Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Poppin' Birthday

PaperPumpkinbloghop

Welcome to the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop!  Did you notice the cute new name?  Why the name change?  This blog hop is no longer a pop up hop and is now a monthly hop!  On the 4th Tuesday of every month at 6 pm, please  join us as we showcase alternate project ideas using the  Paper Pumpkin kit by Stampin' Up!

This month Paper Pumpkin celebrated its 6th birthday!  In addition to the Poppin' Birthday stamp set subscribers were also treated to a free stamp set, Counting the Years!   The cards in this month's kits are so cute!  They are birthday present pop ups!  The cards (8 of them!) are simply adorable.  Instead of making a card i decided to make a little gift to go along with the cards in the kit.

AstheInkDries-PPPblog-3_19

What do you think?  Aren't these Sweet Cups fun?  They are a great way to package a little treat.  I had to sacrifice one of the envelopes to wrap the base of the cup, yes even the envelopes in this kit are super cute.  The lid edge was covered using the labels in the kit.  The circle on top of the Sweet Cup was cut from a card base.  I cut a slit in the middle of the circle and slipped the Circle Tab punch through the slit. I sandwiched 2 of the bows around the Circle Tab punch.

AstheInkDries-PPPblog-3_19open

Remember these tea lights decorated to look like a cake?  They were very popular and I thought it would be a cute little gift to put in the Sweet Cup.

AstheInkDries-PPPhop-3_19all

All the pieces I used to decorate the tea light cake are from the Paper Pumpkin kit except for the ribbon, which is from the All My Love Ribbon Combo Pack.

AstheInkDries-PPPhop-3_19all (1)

Here is what the whole gift will look like.  The card was made following the kit directions except for a minor tweak or 2.  I look forward to gifting this little ensemble soon!

Are you currently a Paper Pumpkin subscriber? If not, now is a great time to join in the fun. Contact your demonstrator to get started or  CLICK HERE to subscribe.

Jar of Love and the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #553

It is Thursday which means it is time for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.  This week we have a color challenge.

CCMC553

What do you think of this combination of colors?

AstheInkDries-CCMC553 (1)

I used the Jar of Love stamp set and the coordinating Everyday Jars framelits.  This set I haven't used in a while and  consider it to be one of my favorites.  It is easy to create lovely arrangements with the images in the set.

AstheInkDries-CCMC553side

I used the Eclectic Layers thinlits to create the cut out design.  The cut out creates interest, texture and allows the Gray Granite DSP to show through.  It is a simple thing to do and adds a lot to the overall design of the card.

Be sure to check out what the rest of the Create with Connie and Mary Design team created for this challenge.  So many great ideas and inspiration!

Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop...Sale-A-Bration Coordination

SDBH Banner

Welcome to the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop!  This month's theme is Sale-A-Bration Coordination products. On my card today I am using 2 of the Sale-A-Bration Coordination products, the More Than Words stamp set and the Four Season Framelits.   I am using 3 Sale-A-Bration choices, Painted Seasons bundle, Country Floral Dynamic TIEF, and the Painted Seasons DSP.

AstheInkDries-PaintedSeasons-SDBH3-19jpeg

This is a gate fold card with a belly band using the Painted Seasons DSP and the Painted Seasons stamp set in Poppy Parade and Grapefruit Grove ink.  The Painted Season DSP is SO pretty and versatile.  The problem with the Painted Seasons pack of paper is that it is hard to chose which side of the paper to use,  both sides are great!  I am so happy that Stampin' Up! is offering it as a Sale-A-Bration choice.  Now you can get an extra pack or 2 of just the Painted Seasons DSP.  All of the flowers and leaves were cut out using the Four Seasons framelits.

AstheInkDries-PaintedSeasons-SDBH3-19inside

This is what the card looks like after you take off the belly band.  I used the gorgeous Country Floral Dynamic TIEF.  This is one beautiful embossing folder and you can get it FREE during Sale-A-Bration with a $50 purchase.  The sentiment is from the More Than Words stamp set from the Sale-A-Bration Coordination release.  This stamp set has great sentiments that can be used with or without a Sale-A-Bration stamp set.   Take a closer look at the "wishes".  There are 2 stamps in the More Than Words set one that says "wishes" and the other looks like the bottom half of wishes.  I first stamped wishes in Grapefruit Grove ink and then stamped over it in Poppy Parade.  Love how it turned out.

AstheiInkDries-SDBH3-19upjpeg

Now it is an easel card!  Fun huh?  I like the little surprise of the hidden easel.  I think this would also be cute as a picture frame.  Instead of putting a sentiment in the circle, a picture would be so cute.

Hope you enjoyed today's project.  Here is a list of all the stops on the blog hop!

Vertical Greetings for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #552

Today's sketch for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge made me think about the fun topiaries in the Vertical Greetings stamp set.   In addition to the great images this set also has vertical greetings!  I don't regularly use a vertical greeting but on today's card it was just the right thing.

AstheInkDries-CCMC552

Here is the #CCMC552 sketch.

CCMC552

My card followed the sketch very closely and I am happy with how fresh and clean it looks.  Whisper White card stock combined with any of the Gingham Gala papers just reminds me of spring.   The faux stitched background was created by repeatedly using the large die from the Needlepoint Elements Framelits.  I used this background idea on this card.

AstheInkDries-CCMC552side

Did you notice that the topiary is a little shorter?  I inked up just the last two green poofs (highly technical term) to better fit the oval.  Don't you love those little sequin flowers?  The sequins are adhesive backed which makes them even easier to use.  I put a little Happiness Blooms Enamel Dot in the center of each sequin.

Did you notice the little stitched design on the white strip?  The strip was also made using the Needlepoint Elements framelits.  I didn't want to use ribbon and thought this little design element was just right.

Be sure to check out what the other members of the design team created using this sketch.

Quick & Easy Bloom by Bloom

Just a quick and easy Sunday Share card using the Bloom by Bloom stamp set.

AstheInkDries-BloombyBloom

Randomly stamped the images from the Bloom by Bloom stamp set in Balmy Blue, Lemon Lime Twist and Daffodil Delight.  Popped the adorable Gingham Gala Adhesive Backed Sequins for the flower centers.   Love this sentiment from the Part of My Story set Sale-A-Bration set.  I use this one a lot.   Sending cards just because you are thinking of someone is as important as sending a card for a special occasion.

AstheInkDries-BloombyBloom-side

I did just a little bit of fussy cutting to decorate the inside of the card.

Hope you liked this springy card, which reminds me remember to Spring Forward!

Butterfly Gala & the Needlepoint Nook DSP

Today's card was inspired by this card I made for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #550.   The Butterfly Duet punch is unfortunately not available right now but it looks like it will be soon (April 1, no fooling!).

AstheInkDries-ButterflyGala-BalmyBlue (1)

I used the Needlepoint Nook DSP.  Have you checked out this pack of paper?  I love this pack of paper.  Both sides of the paper have great designs and they coordinate so well together.

NeedlepointNookDSP (1)

The sentiment I used on the front of the card is from the Needle & Thread stamp set.  Did you see the faux stitching below the sentiment?  That is from the Needlepoint Elements framelits.  If you are a regular reader of my blog (thank you!) you know I am a big fan of these dies.  I have certainly gotten my use out of them.  You can see some other samples here, here, here,  and here.

AstheInkDries-ButterflyGala-Balmyclose

Inside of my card I added a strip of DSP (hate to waste those little strips), a sentiment from the Needle & Thread stamp set and the sweet little butterflies.

Starting with a sketch or a color combination really helps me to get started stamping.  Try it next time you are in need of a little creative assistance.

Painted Seasons, More Than Words, & the Country Floral TIEF

Today's card for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge features 2 Sale-A-Bration sets and 2 Sale-A-Bration Coordination framelit!  This week's challenge is a color challenge featuring Mossy Meadow, Petal Pink and Fresh Fig.

CCMC551

AstheInkDries-CCMC551

The beautiful embossed design was created by using the Country Floral Dynamic TIEF (Textured Impressions Embossing folder).   This is one lovely embossing folder!  The sentiment is from the More Than Words stamp set which is part of the Sale-A-Bration Coordination offering.  This stamp set has great sentiments that coordinate so well with the Sale-A-Bration stamp sets.

03-01morethanwords

AstheInkDries-CCMC551side

The flowers and leaves are from the Painted Seasons stamp  set which is part of the Painted Seasons bundle.  This stamp set has a coordinating set of framelits, Four Season Framelit Dies which is part of the Sale-A-Bration Coordination products.   I inked all of the flowers in Petal Pink ink but the middle flower I also used the "rock n roll" technique.  After I inked the stamp in Petal Pink ink, I rolled the outer edge of the stamp in Fresh Fig ink.  To add a little bling I placed a Petal Pink Rhinestone Gem in the center of each flower.

Do you like this color combination as much as I do?  If you want even more inspiration be sure to check out what the other members of the design team created for this challenge.
