Celebrate with Cake for the Festive Friday Challenge #FF0037

Have you seen the Experience Creativity brochure?  It is a new Stampin' Up! brochure that focuses on kits and quick & easy stamping.  I think  this new brochure is great.  In it there is are 3 exclusive stamp sets.  I used one of the stamp sets  for my card today for the Festive Friday Challenge #FFF0037.

FF0037

Asthe InkDries-FF0037-CelebratewithCake

The stamp set is called Celebrate with Cake.  It is filled with simple, bold images  and sentiments too.

Celebrate with Cake

So cute!  The card I made for the #FF0037 Challenge involves some fussy cutting (really not very fussy) and the Bird Ballad Designer Series paper.  In the brochure there are lots of samples of adorable cards that are one layer note cards with just stamps and ink.  I will be making some of those and sharing them.

I have prepared a tutorial for you if you would like to make this card.  Click here for the measurements, supplies, and directions!

I hope you will join in the fun and create something for the #FF0037 Challenge!  I would love to see your entry in the Festive Friday gallery!

Band Together for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge

Time for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #CCMC567!  This week we have a lovely color combination.

CCMC567

This color combination is definitely one to remember!  Have I told you before that I keep a little ring of color combinations on my stamping desk?  Well, this one is going on that ring.

AstheInkDries-CCMC567

I used the Band Together bundle (stamps and dies!) for this card.  The flowers and leaves were colored using the Poppy Parade, Granny Apple Green and Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends.   Sure do love those Blends!  Whenever there it is a color challenge I always check to see if I have the Blends in those colors.  Do you do that too?

AstheInkDries-BandTogether-CCMC567

As much as I love the big flowers in the Band Together stamp set, it was those label/band dies that sealed the deal for me.  I cut this label twice. Once in Granny Apple Green and onec in Whisper White.  I fitted a Whisper White label back into the opening for the sentiment.  Don't you love  options?

Band together stamp set

The sentiment is also from the Band Together stamp set.  In this stamp set, there are sentiments for both the outside and inside of the card.  I love that!

Be sure to check out what the other members of the design team created for this challenge, so many great ideas on how to use this color combination.

Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop: A Little Smile

PaperPumpkinbloghop

Welcome to the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog hop.  We are hopping to share with you alternate ideas on ways you can use the June Paper Pumpkin kit, A Little Smile.

This month's kit is all about sharing a little kindness and appreciation.  I decided I wanted to make a little gift card holder for my hairdresser who is going on a little trip.  She is going somewhere tropical so this kit was just perfect and I had the perfect gift card too.

AstheInkDries-PPJune2019-closed

You know what really made me happy?  The Paper Pumpkin kit had everything I needed.  I didn't use anything other than what was in the kit and it is a quick project!  Follow along and we can make it together.

AstheInkDries-June2019-1b

AstheInkDries-PPJune2019-1

I took 2 envelopes and attached one flap of one to the other.  You now have two pockets to use.

AstheInkDries-PPJune2019-inside

I cut one of the little card in half and used the die cuts and stamps to decorate the cards.  There are a lot of different die cuts to use and I love the variety from vellum to glimmer!  This kit has a generous amount of die cuts.

AstheInkDries-PPJune2019-inside2

A gift card fits perfectly in the envelope!  Remember you have 2 pockets so 1 can be used for a gift card and the other for a little note or even another gift card.

Now it is time to hop on over to see what the talented Janey Backer has created for you!

PaperPumpkinbloghopnext

I hope you enjoyed my alternate idea on how to use the A Little Smile Paper Pumpkin kit.  If you are not currently working with a  Stampin' Up! demonstrator and have some questions and/or are interested in Paper Pumpkin, I would be happy to help you.

Beautiful Friendship for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge

Ready for another Create with Connie & Mary Challenge?  This week it is a sketch challenge.

CCMC566

I saw this sketch and thought it was the perfect time to use Beautiful Friendship.

AstheInkDries-BeautifulFriendship-CCMC566

Beautiful Friendship is a great stamp set, perfect for a new stamper as well as an avid stamper.  Beautiful images and great sentiments all in one set.  In addition I used the  Band Together bundle.   This was another must have  for me.  You will be seeing a lot more of these bands in the future.  On today's card I used the band as a label.  The sentiment is also from the Band Together stamp set.

Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop...Welcome to the New Catalog

SDBH Banner

Welcome to the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop!  We are hopping and sharing projects using new products from the 2019-20 Stampin' Up!® Annual Catalog.

It was hard to decide what to share with you.  There are so many beautiful new things in new catalog. I decided I would highlight a new In Color, Rococo Rose, a new bundle, Daisy Lane, and a new die, Tasteful Backgrounds.

AstheInkDries-DaisyLane-SDBH

When I first saw the Tasteful Background dies I was intrigued and knew I would be ordering it.  I love the peekaboo effect these dies offer.  This die is about 3-7/8" long.  I wanted to extend the design so  after I ran it through the die cutting machine once I fit the die back and ran it through the machine again extending the design  by 2 scallops.

AstheinkDries-DaisyLane-SDBHdie (1)

I layered some Sparkle Glimmer paper behind the design for some additional shine.

AstheInkDries-DaisyLane-SDBHsidejpeg

I am loving the new In Color, Rococo Rose.  I haven't played with the new In Colors enough and really need to do so.  Rococo Rose paired with Old Olive  just makes me happy.

Daisy Lane for Festive Friday Challenge #FF0036

June is flying by and soon we will be celebrating official start of summer on June 21 and the 4th of July.  These are the themes for the Festive Friday Challenge #FF0036!

FF0036

I chose to focus on the 4th of July aka Independence Day.  In the USA we celebrate the 4th in lots of different ways from picnics and fireworks to parades and ceremonies.  However you celebrate, I think the patriotic colors red, white &  blue are definitely part of the 4th of July.

AstheInkDries-DaisyLane-FF0036

I used the new Daisy Lane bundle for my card.  The new Medium Daisy punch is a great new addition and I love the smaller size.

AstheInkDries-DaisyLane-FF0036side.jpeg

The "celebrate" is from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set and is the perfect size for this layout.  The stamp set has 32 sentiments and covers a wide range of occasions and i consider it a must have in my collection.  The little enamel star is from a long retired embellishment pack.  I couldn't find a red, white or blue star so I colored over a Pool Party star with a Dark Night of Navy Stampin' Blend marker.  The striped DSP is from the Come Sail Away DSP pack.

I hope you will stamp along with this challenge.  You can go to the Festive Friday blog for all the details on how you can play along.  I would love to see what you create for #FFF0036.

To A WIld Rose & A Little Lace

It is Thursday and time for Create with Connie & Mary Challenge!  This week  #CCMC565 is a color challenge.

CCMC565

This is such a classic and pretty combination.

AstheInkDries-ToAWildRose-ALittleLace

I used the Stitched Lace dies and To A Wild Rose bundle  for today's card.  The Stitched Lace die set has 2 dies, one that cuts out a sheet of "lace" measuring 5-7/8" x 4-5/16" and the second die, cuts out the outline, so you can have your lace be different lengths.  So pretty and versatile.

To A Wild Rose is one of my favorite new flower stamps.  It is easy to stamp with and the shading created by the Distinktive process and the 2 Step stamping is gorgeous.  Here I used the Daffodil Delight ink stamped off once for the overall color and then full strength for the shading stamp.

AstheInkDries-ToAWildRose-ALittleLaceside

I used some Highland Heather sequins from the Gingham Gala Adhesive Backed Sequins pack with added rhinestones  for a sparkly center to the flowers.  Are you wondering where else I used Highland Heather?  I used it for the leaves and also stamped the "hello" in Highland Heather ink.

Be sure to check out what the other design team members created for this weeks challenge.  I know you will be inspired by their creations.

A Little Lace Wreath

Does this happen to you?  I have a few, okay maybe more than a few new things from the 2019-2020 Stampin' Up!® catalog.   I am excited to get stamping but feel overwhelmed.  What should I use first?  What colors?   The questions go on and on.

I find that sometimes limiting the possibilities really helps me get started.  I randomly picked a stamp set, A Little Lace and then picked a stamping challenge.  I wanted a color challenge and found the Paper Players Challenge PP445

Pp445

Love this happy color combination!  I started playing and here's what I came up with.

AstheInkDries-ALittleLace-wreath

I used just the one flower image and stamped it repeatedly using a Stamparatus. The flowers were colored in using Stampin' Blends in the challenge colors.   The "Hello" is from the Free As a Bird stamp set and the other sentiment is from the Daisy Lane stamp set.

AstheInkDries-ALittleLace-wreathjpeg

Can you see the centers of the flowers?  I used the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to give it shine and a little dimension.  I also used  the Clear Wink of Stella on the flower petals.

This little jump start has really helped me feel more creative and productive.  I would love to know what helps you when you are feeling overwhelmed or in a rut. Leave me a comment and tell me what works for you.

Mosaic Mood DSP and the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #CCMC564

It is Thursday and time for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #CCMC564!  This week's sketch challenge had me cutting into the Mosaic Mood Specialty DSP.

AstheInkDries-CCMC564

Here is the sketch #CCMC564 for this week's challenge.

CCMC564

We received the Mosaic Mood Specialty  Designer Series Paper as an all attendee giveaway at the Stampin' Up! On Stage event last April.  The paper is gorgeous and it was hard to cut in to, as they say, "the first cut is the deepest". Once I got over the initial cut, the beautiful rose and leaves were easy to cut out.  It is difficult to see in the photo but there are shiny accents on the rose.  These glossy accents is what makes this pack of paper a specialty DSP.

AstheInkDries-CCMC564side

This photo shows some of the glossy accents on the leafy background paper.  In real life those pops of shine add a lot to the overall look and feel of the card.  The sentiment is from the Enjoy Life stamp set.  I love the mix of fonts in the sentiment.  The Mint Macaron ribbon is a new to this catalog.  I love that there is a slight sheen to it and best of all, it is soft and easy to work with.

Be sure to check out what the other members of the design team created for this challenge.  I hope it will inspire you to play along and share what you create on the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge Facebook page.
