For the Love of Felt Project kit Card 2

Today I am going to share with you another card in the For the Love of Felt Project kit.

AstheInkDries-FortheLoveofFelt2

Isn't it sweet?  On this card you stamp the Daffodil Delight flower, the Sahara Sand flourish, the Calypso Coral sentiment and the Shaded Spruce leaves.  All the other elements are either pre-printed on the card or are glued on like the felt flowers, leaves and sequins.  It is a quick card to put together and the results are pretty darn cute.

In addition to  all the components to make the 12 cards, in the kit you also get a super cute box to hold the cards.  Here's what the kit looks like.

For the love of felt kit

The For the Love of Felt stamp set is a great set with a pretty font and nice images.

Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop...On My Mind

PaperPumpkinbloghop

Welcome to the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop!  We all are fans of the monthly Paper Pumpkin kit and have joined together to share ideas on alternate ways to use the July 2019 Paper Pumpkin kit, On My Mind.

This month's kit was a special one.  There were supplies to make 9 cards , 3 each of 3 designs with coordinating envelopes.  The 3 different designs coordinated with 3 different suites in the Stampin' Up!® Annual catalog.  The 3 suites: Woven Threads, Garden Lane and Come Sail Away.

PPPBH-OnMyMind

I have the Sailing Home bundle and added a few extra elements for my card.   I stamped and cut the anchor in Pear Pizzazz and the seaweed in both Pear Pizzazz and Mossy Meadow.   The rest of the elements were included in the kit.

AstheInkDries-PPPBH-OnMyMindside

Easel cards are easy and fun to make.  I think this is the first time I have added a long message strip.  I like that when the card is closed you cannot tell that the strip will be "floating".

Well, it is time to head over to see what the talented  Darla Watson has created for you!

For the Love of Felt

This week we are going to celebrate kits.  In particular the For the Love of Felt kit and the coordinating stamp set.

AstheInkDries-FortheLoveofFelt-card1

This is one of the 3 card designs in this kit.  I made this one according to the kit directions.  This kit makes 12 cards, 4 each of 3 designs. The cards are adorable and the felt embellishments are so cute and the colors are bright and cheery.

AstheInkDries-FortheLoveofFelt-card1side

This kit would make a great class.  I would love to get together with you and your friends to do a For the Love of Felt  kit class.

#FF0039-Festive Friday Challenge #0039

Are you ready for the Festive Friday Challenge?  I cannot really explain it but this was a tough one for me.

FF0039

I know it should have been an easy one since Stampin' Up!® just released a beautiful new stamp set called Sailing Home that features a lighthouse.  For whatever reason I was stuck on using the alternate theme of Light Rays/Starburst.  I tried lots of different ideas and all of them ended up in the recycle bin.  The deadline was drawing near and I then I did something I rarely ever do...

AstheInkDries-FF0039

Yes, I pulled out a set that is retired and used it for today's card.   This is a kind of strange situation.  The stamp set, Pocketful of Sunshine retired but the coordinating die, Pocket is still available in the 2019-20 Stampin' Up!® catalog.  There is a new stamp set that does coordinate with the Pocket dies called Pocketful of Happiness.  Everything that I inked is from the Pocketful of Sunshine stamp set and cut out using the Pocket die with the exception of the sentiment and the sun.  I used the Stitched Rectangle dies to cut out the sentiment and the Stitched Shapes die to cut out the sun.

AstheInkDries0FF0039-side

Here's how I made this card.

    1. Cut a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" Balmy Blue card base and score at 4-1/4".

    2. Cut a 4" x 5-1/4" Real Red layer and adhere it to the front of the Balmy Blue card base.

    3. Cut a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" Whisper White layer and adhere it to the Real Red layer.

    4. Cut a pocket from the Balmy Blue striped design from the Come Sail Away DSP.

    5.  Stamp in Balmy Blue ink the stitched pocket outline from the Pocketful of Sunshine stamp set on to the pocket.

    6.  Use the 2nd to the largest Stitched Circle and cut a Crushed Curry half circle.  Adhere the half circle to the front of the Whisper White cs.

    7.  Attach the pocket over the stitched circle.

    8.  Stamp the "rays" 3 times  using Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Crushed Curry card stock.  Cut out using the Pockets dies.

    9.  Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue and apply a thin line of glue where you want to place a ray.  Use the Take Your Pick tool to help pick up and place the rays.  Repeat until all the rays are adhered.

    10.  Stamp the sunglasses in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Daffodil Delight card stock.  Die cut using the Pockets die.  Attach to the pocket using Stampin' Dimensionals.

    11.  Cut a Real Red Stitched Rectangle and stamp the sentiment using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  Attach to the pocket using Stampin' Dimensionals.

    12.  Embellish using rhinestones.

I hope you will join in the challenge.  I would love to see your project in the Festive Friday gallery, #FF0039!

Band Together in Mango Melody

Time for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge!  This is the last Case the Catalog Challenge.  This week the sample we are casing is on page 18 of the 2019-20 Stampin' Up!® Annual Catalog.

CCMC571

I decided to case the layout of the card.

AstheInkDries-BandTogether-CCMC571

On today's card I used Stampin' Bends to color the flowers.  This is the 3rd coloring technique I have used to color the Band Together  flower, you can see the other 2 cards here and here.  I used Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, and Granny Apple Green Blends.

AstheInkDries-BandTogether-CCMC571side

The DSP (Designer Series Paper) I used is from the Brights 6" x 6" DSP.  I am so  happy we still have gingham paper to play with.  It looks so fresh and seems to go with everything.  I also  added a few sequins from the Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins.

Band Together Bundle

Today's card is a little different than my usual style.  It is always good to try something different.

AstheInkDries-BandTogether-white

What do you think?  Pretty shocking that there isn't a single flower on this card.

I die cut 4-1/2  labels and did a little surgery on them and cut off the bands.  AstheInkDries-BandTogether-whiteside

On one of the labels I stamped the sentiment and fit it back in to the card.  I attached some gold Metallic Pearls on to the card.  So, what do you think?

This has got to be the smallest supply list for one of my cards.

Hope you are enjoying the spotlight on the Band Together bundle.

You Are Amazing Band Together Bundle

This week the Product Spotlight is on the Band Together bundle.

Band Together bundle (1)

This bundle is the complete package.  The stamp set has a gorgeous large flower image that lends itself to lots of different coloring techniques.  The set also has great sentiments in a beautiful font, that work for both the front and inside of the card.  The dies cut out one of the flowers, 3 different leaves and of course the lovely bands and labels.

AstheInkDries-BandTogether-amazing

The flower was stamped and embossed with white embossing powder on the new Fluid 100 Watercolor paper. I am not an expert on watercolor paper but after using it on this card, I am a fan.  I used an Aqua Painter, Melon Mambo ink and Pear Pizzazz ink to color the flower and leaves.  I love how bright the flower looks.

AstheInkDries-BandTogether-Amazingside

The card base is Smoky Slate and embossed using the Scripty 3-D folder.  Don't you just love the large label?  It is so pretty.   Wouldn't you love to receive a card with that sentiment?  I think it would make my day.

Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop...Color Your World

SDBH Banner

Thanks for stopping by for the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop!  This month we are hopping a week later than usual.  Our theme this month is Color Your World.

AstheInkDries-BandTogether-SDBHJulyjpeg

I decided to use the beautiful Band Together bundle for my project.   I realize my card is not the most colorful one I could have made but it is one that uses a coloring technique that I am having a lot of fun with.  I am terrible with the names of techniques (and folds) so let me just tell you how to do it instead.

Stamp your image using VersaMark ink on colored cardstock.  I used Crumb Cake card stock.  Color in the petals with a Chalk Marker.  In the past I have used watercolor pencils to color the image but I thought I would try coloring with Stampin' Blends and it works too!  I used Calypso Coral, Mango Melody, and Flirty Flamingo Blends to do the coloring.

AstheInkDries-BandTogether-SDBHJulyside

I also used the new Scripty 3-D folder to emboss the front of the card.  This is another must have embossing folder.   It adds just a little bit of interest and texture just like the Subtle folder.  All the rest of the die cuts and label are part of the Band Together bundle.

Here's the list of the other stops on the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop.  Enjoy!

Tasteful Textures and the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #CCMC570

The Create with Connie & Mary Challenge this month is to CASE the catalog.  This week the inspiration sample is on page 110 of the Stampin' Up!® catalog.

CCMC570

What does CASE mean?  CASE stands for Copy and Share Everything.  For the challenge you can be inspired  by the layout, colors, stamp set almost any aspect of the the chosen sample.

I chose to CASE the layout.

AstheInkDries-TastefulTextures-CCMC570

I am still focusing on the Tasteful Textures bundle so I used the one of the Tasteful Background dies as a focal point.  I love seeing the gingham peek through the "petals".  I need to explore this idea a little more.  Look for another peekaboo look in the near future.

This combination of Pool Party and Poppy Parade has been on my mind.  Unfortunately I wasn't able to capture the true beauty of the Pool Party color in my pictures.

AstheInkDries-TastefulTextures-CCMC570side

I used the "thanks" from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set and the other sentiment is from the For the Love of Felt stamp set.  Be sure to check out what the other members of the design team created for the challenge.
