It is Thursday and I am back with the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #CCMC569.  The challenges this week is to make a project inspired by the card on page 132 of the Stampin' Up!® catalog.

You can use the sketch, colors , stamp set , basically any aspect of the sample to inspire your project.  I chose to use the sketch as my inspiration.  

As you can see I really simplified the layout.  I used the Tasteful Background dies and inlaid Coastal Cabana and Granny Apple Green pieces into the cut out.   The welcome sentiment is from the Well Written dies.  

I like how simple and clean this looked, so I continued to play with this idea.  To do the inlay is not difficult since the pieces are distinct in shape and not small.  The only one that gave me a little trouble is the tiny teardrop near the bottom of the design.  I may have had to cut that little piece out a few times.  

In this sample I added another cut out and a vellum strip for the sentiment to sit on.  This vellum layer is on the inspiration card.  

Here the designs are side by side. I had so much fun playing around with this dies.  I am looking forward to playing with the other dies and the stamp set.
