Beauty & Joy for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge

I am a big fan of topiaries.  Now that you know that you can probably guess that I purchased the Beauty & Joy stamp set in the soon to be debuting Stampin' Up®  Holiday catalog.  The set features 2 different pots, 3 different possible topiaries and 3 sentiments.   There are 13 stamps in all.

AstheInkDries-CCMC576jpeg

I made this card for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge # 576.

CCMC576

I used the Wrapped in Plaid Specialty DSP (6" x 6")  for the background.  This package of paper features classic Christmas plaids with gold foil accents.  I used Gold Foil paper as a layer to tie everything together.

AstheInkDries-CCMC576side

When I think of it, I like to add a strip of DSP to the inside of the card to dress it up a bit.

Pumpkin Halloween Wreath

This week it is officially Sneak Peek time here at  As the Ink Dries!  On September 4th the Stampin' Up!® Holiday catalog will be making its official debut!  Based on the amount I have pre-ordered (yes, SU! demonstrators get to order early!!) and the list of what I still want to order,  I can safely say this catalog is FULL of fabulous products.

One thing that I have been trying to do more of is to find different ways to use the products I buy.  For example, instead of a snow globe, how about a tropical globe or a Halloween globe?  With that in mind, here's a Halloween wreath!

AstheInkDries-HalloweenWreathjpeg

I used the All-Around Wreath dies and added the pumpkins cut from the Trio of Tags die.  The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Greetings and is stamped on a banner die from the Smooth Sailing dies.  I really like the Monster Bash DSP.  Love the designs in this pack of paper and the colors.

AstheInkdries-HalloweenWreath-insidejpeg

Here's the inside of the card.  I like to dress up the inside of the card too!  Here we have a strip of the Monster Bash DSP and one of the tags and stamps from the Tags Tags Tags bundle.

AstheInkdries-HalloweenWreath-sidejpeg

Product List

I couldn't make just one Halloween wreath so here's another using almost all of the same ingredients.

AstheInkDries-HalloweenWreath2

The Crushed Curry patterned paper is another design in the Monster Bash DSP pack.  There is also a pattern that is just all these fun scary-cute bottles.  I had to fussy cut these little bottles, fortunately they are not very detailed and easy to cut out.

AstheInkdries-HalloweenWreath2-close

I hadn't noticed what was written on the bottles until I was trying to decide which bottles to cut out for the wreath.  Do you see it?  Isn't it clever?  This is perfect for all the paper crafters in your life.

Hope you liked this little sneak peek featuring the Monster Bash DSP and the Tags Tags Tags bundle.  If you do not have a copy of the 2019 Stampin' Up!  Holiday catalog and are not currently working with another demonstrator, contact me and I would be happy to send you a catalog.

Frosted Foliage and the Festive Friday Challenge

It is time for the Festive Friday Challenge #FF0041!

FF41

One of the cool things about the Festive Friday Challenge is that you have a choice of which theme to use.  You can use either or both for your challenge entry.  I chose Metallic.

AstheInkDries-FF41

You have probably figured it out that this is also a Holiday catalog sneak peek post.   The upcoming Stampin' Up!® Holiday Catalog(debuts September 4) is full of  beautiful stamps, paper, dies, punches and embellishments.  Many of the Designer Series Papers have metallic foil accents.  The Feels Like Frost Specialty Paper has gorgeous photographic images on one side and silver foil designs on the other.  The only bad thing about this paper is choosing which side to use.

AstheInkDries-FF41-side

Here's how I made this card

    1. Card Base-Cut Thick Whisper White card stock  4-1/4" x 11" , scored at 5-1/2"

    2. Layer-4" x 5-1/4" Feels Like Frost DSP.  Adhere to the front of the Whisper White card base.

    3.  Frame-4-1/4" x 5" Silver foil.  Die cut using the Frosted Frames dies.  Attach to the Feels Like Frost DSP.

    4. Basic Black Layer- 2-3/4" x 3". Die cut using the Frosted Frames dies

    5.  Rub the Basic Black card stock with the Embossing Buddy.Stamp sentiment from the Frosted Foliage stamp set in Silvery Shimmer Delicata                        Metallic ink and sprinkle with Silver embossing powder.  Heat  emboss using the Heat Tool.

    6.  Attach the Basic Black labet to the Silver frame using Stampin' Dimensionals.

    7.  Cut snowflakes using the Frosted Frames dies from a scrap piece of Silver Foil.  Attach to the corners of the Basic Black label.  Attach rhinestones to          the corners of the label.

I hope you will join in the fun of the Festive Friday Challenge #FF0041.  I would love to see your project in the Festive Friday gallery.

Believe You Can

It is Thursday and time for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.  This week it is a color challenge.

CCMC575

I just recently got the Believe You Can Host set so I thought I better get it inky.

AstheInkDries-BelieveYouCan-CCMC576

I stamped the image in  Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a Stitched Nested label.  I used mostly Stampin' Write Markers to color the image except for the bushes.  I used a Blender pen and Garden Green ink to color the bushes.  I stamped "you can" on a piece of Terracotta Tile card stock and cut out the flag.

AstheInkDries-BelieveYouCan-CCMCclose

I added a little bit of Dazzling Diamonds glitter on the sun and road to add a little sparkle to the image.

AstheInkDries-BelieveYouCan-CCMCside

The vines behind the label were cut using the Christmas Layers dies.  These dies will be debuting in the Holiday Catalog on September 4th.  I used the Subtle 3-D  Embossing folder to add a little texture to the card.

Be sure to check out what the other members of the Create with Connie & Mary design team created for this challenge.

What's New at SU!...Christmas Gleaming

What's new hop

Welcome to the What's New at SU! Blog Hop.  This blog hop group consists of  Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world!  How awesome is that?  Today we are focusing on  sneak peeks from the soon to be debuting Holiday catalog?  Ready?

AstheInkDries-ChristmasGleaming-WhatsNEW

I chose to use the Christmas Gleaming Bundle (which includes the Christmas Gleaming stamp set and the Gleaming Ornaments Punch Pack) and the Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series paper.  The ornament was stamped with the Celestial Copper Delicata ink pad and then punched out using the Gleaming Ornaments punch pack.  There are 3 new Delicata Metallic ink pads available in the Holiday Catalog: Golden Glitz, Silvery Shimmer and Celestial Copper.  These inks stamp beautifully, add that little extra shine and allows you to stamp on dark cardstock!

AstheInkDries-ChristmasGleaming-WhatsNEW2

Let's talk about the Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP.  There are copper foil accents on one side of each sheet and there are 2 each of six double sided designs.  This pack of paper is a beautiful mix of seasonal and all purpose patterns.

Believe You Can

I couldn't resist the Host stamp set, Believe you Can.

AstheInkDries-BelieveYouCan-819

I love this quote and simple design.  I know this will be a stamp I will use a lot.

This card style I have used a lot and even wrote a tutorial that you can find here.

AstheInkDries-BelieveYouCan-819open

This fold is a great one to show off our lovely Designer Series Paper.  This pack is called Garden Lane.

AstheInkDries-BelieveYouCan-819sidejpeg

Wouldn't this card be great one to encourage someone who is starting a new career, project, school, or adventure?

AstheInkDries-BelieveYouCan-819closejpeg

I colored the image using Stampin' Blends and ink refills.  When I was done coloring I inked the entire image in VersaMark ink and covered it with a mix of Clear Embossing Powder and Dazzling Diamonds glitter.  I always have this mix on hand and call it Glittery Goodness.  I heat emboss the whole image and I love how it sparkles.  The clear embossing powder seals in the glitter so it stays on the card and not on your hands.

Friend Like You and the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge

It is Thursday and time for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge. This week it is a sketch #CCMC574.

CCMC574

AstheInkDries-CCMC574-Friendplain

As much as I like the other dies in the Friendly Silhouettes , my favorite is this one with the cattails.  After I made this card I wondered is it too plain?

AstheInkDries-CCMC574-Friendplainside

I wanted to keep the look clean and simple but thought I would try and add a little something more.

AstheInkDries-CCMC574-friendsprinkles

I cut another So Saffron circle and spritzed it with water and added some Daffodil Delight Pigment Sprinkles.  I like the sprinkles look but am not sure it is better.  Is it an improvement?

AstheInkDries-CCMC574-Friendsprinklesside

I still am not sure which is better.

Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop...Holiday Catalog Sneak Peek

SDBH Banner

This month we are featuring sneak peeks from the upcoming Holiday catalog!  This was not an easy task. Why?  There are SO many  fun and fabulous products in the Holiday catalog, it wasn't easy trying  to decide what to show you.  I decided I would focus on the Snow Globe Scenes dies.  I also decided that I wasn't ready to focus on Christmas or winter scenes just yet.

AstheInkDries-SDBH-Aloha

Since I am not ready to give up summer yet,  how about a tropical globe?  I used the Friendly Silhouettes die to create the palm trees inside of the globe and the Tropical Chic  stamp set and the Tropical dies for the flowers and foliage.  This was the first time I used the Hand-Lettered Prose dies and I love how they look!  Who doesn't need some aloha in their lives?

AstheInkDries-SDBH-alohaside

There are 2 snow globe base dies in the Snow Globe Scenes that you can layer.  I was a little concerned that using both would look to ornate or festive for this card.  I was happy to see that with some of the swirls covered it looks a little more Polynesian and perfect for this card.

Product List

AstheInkDries-SDBH-halloweenjpeg

How about a haunted mansion globe?  I cut out the spooky mansion from the Monster Bash DSP using the Snow Globe Scenes die.  The spider web paper is also part of the Monster Bash DSP pack.  The tag is from the Tags Tags Tags bundle.  This is a fun die (Trio of Tags Dies) that cuts out 3 different tags at one time.  The Tags Tags Tags stamp set stamps 3 images at one time so making tags is a snap.  The little pumpkins are also part of the Trio of Tags dies.
