Christmas Gleaming and the Festive Friday Challenge #FF0048

Welcome to another Festive Friday Challenge!  The festivity we are being inspired by is Wear Your Pearls Day!  Bet you didn't know there was a special day to celebrate wearing your pearls.  The Inspo list for this challenge is so fun.  To play along all you have to do is pick a minimum of 3 items from the Inspo List to use on your project and share it on the Festive Friday blog.  Easy peasy and a lot of fun too!

FF48

For this challenge I chose to use rhinestones, black & white, pink, and embossing paste.

AstheInkDries-FF48

It is a little hard to see that I used Shimmery White Embossing paste.  There are flecks of glitter in the paste which makes for a very sparkly background.

AstheInkDries-FF48side2

I think you can see the glitter in the embossing paste in this picture.  The mask I used is from the Stampin' Up!® Holiday catalog on pg 35.  It is a little hard to find.

AstheInkDries-FF48-close

To make things even more sparkly I brushed Clear Wink of Stella over the body of the ornament and some Frost White Shimmer paint on the top of the ornament.  I thought I might as well go all out and added rhinestones  and a glittery black bow to the ornament.  To finish it off, I added a die cut sentiment from the Jolly Season dies

Want a tutorial and list of all the products I used?  Here is a link to a tutorial.

Be sure to check out what the rest of the design team created for this challenge.

Snowman Season and the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge

Happy Thanksgiving!   I hope you are spending the day in a way which brings you joy.

This week the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge is a color challenge #CCMC589.

CCMC589

If these colors look familiar it is because they are some of the colors in the Let it Snow Specialty DSP.  This is a super fun pack of paper with glittered accents and happy designs.

AstheInkDries-CCMC589

I chose 3 different patterns of the Let It Snow DSP to use and I love how they all coordinate. I used the Shaded Spruce and Real Red Stampin' Blends to color in the scarf and hat brim.  I used a blender pen with a little Coastal Cabana ink refill to shade the snowman and color in part of the hat.  I added the Shimmery Crystal Effect to the scarf and hat to add a little sparkle and shine.

AstheInkDries-CCMC589side

The snow on the ground and the shading on the snowman was sprinkled with Dazzling Diamond glitter.  I don't use glitter as much as I used to but I sure love how it makes the snow sparkly.

AstheInkDries-CCMC589side2

The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Christmas and the Shaded Spruce foliage was cut using the coordinating die called Christmas Layers dies.  There's  lots of red rhinestones berries on the foliage to add even more sparkle to the card.

Hope you are having a wonderful day and thank you for stopping by my blog.  Be sure to check out what the rest of the Create with Connie & Mary Design team created for this challenge.

Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop...Winter Gifts

PaperPumpkinbloghop

Welcome to the Paper Pumpkin Pop Up Blog Hop! We are all fans of this monthly crafting kit and want to share with you our enthusiasm for this box of fun and creativity. The beauty of the Paper Pumpkin kit is that you can follow the directions provided in the kit to make the projects as they were designed, or use the supplies as a starting point and let your creativity run wild. On this hop we will be sharing lots of ideas with you on how to use this November Paper Pumpkin kit: Winter Gifts.

AstheInkDries-PPP1119

I know it seems impossible but the Paper Pumpkin kits just seem to get better every month!  I think this kit is amazing and the projects are pretty much perfect as they are but since this an alternative ideas blog hop I had to change things up just a little bit.  I made the tags pretty much as instructed with just some minor changes like placement of the leaves and sequins and adding ribbon bows instead of the silver cording.  The biggest change is I mounted the tags on an easel so instead of tags on a package it is a piece of home decor.  I think this is going to look cute on the mantel.

AstheInkDries-PPP1119side

The easel was purchased at one of the big craft stores and come 3 to a pack, already painted and with an easel back.  They were  inexpensive and I like to have them on hand to make quick home decor items and gifts.

The only thing I added that wasn't included in the November Paper Pumpkin kit was the "Merry Christmas".  This was cut out of Poppy Parade cardstock using the Merry Christmas dies.   If you are a Paper Pumpkin subscriber of mine and want to recreate this project,  email me and I will cut the sentiment out and send it to you.

AstheInkDries-PPP1119flat

There are refills available for this kit (both the full kit and refills)  but you need to be a current Paper Pumpkin subscriber to order them.  Contact your demonstrator to become a Paper Pumpkin subscriber.  If you are not currently working with a Stampin' Up! demonstrator , CLICK here , if you have questions feel free to contact me.

Thank you for joining us on the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop!  Now it is time for you to hop on over to see what the talented Janey Backer has created for you!

*Whisper White 4" x 5-1/4" & Stitched Oval largest & scraps for snowman, tree

*Real Red Layering Ovals scallop oval (largest)

*Let it Snow DSP cut 2 at 2-1/4" x 5-1/4"

    *Snowman Season bundle

*Tree stamped from Perfectly Plaid set in Shaded Spruce

(Look below my signature for a complete list of supplies and links to where you can purchase it.)

AstheInkDries-SnowmanSeason-2jpeg

Score the Coastal Cabana Stitched Nested label as shown below.

AstheInkDries-SNowmangiftcard

This tab is what you will secure between the Coastal Cabana card base and the Whisper White layer.  I like to use glue or Tear & Tape.  Secure down the Whisper White layer to the Coastal Cabana card base.

Stamp in Coastal Cabana ink the snowflakes from Snowman Season on the Whisper White Stitched Oval.

Layer the stitched oval on to the Real Red scalloped oval.

Attach a plaid tree stamped in Shaded Spruce using the Perfectly Plaid stamp set and the snowman from Snowman Season on to the Whisper White Oval.

Attach the star to the top of the tree.  Attach a cap to the snowman.  Color in the snowman's nose using Pumpkin Pie Blends or Stampin' Write marker.

Stamp "lots of love" in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Whisper White CS and cut the banner.  Attach a little red heart to the end and adhere.

Attach the oval to the Coastal Cabana label.

Stamp the sentiment in the upper right hand corned in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

Attach one of the DSP sheets to the outside piece.

AstheInkDries-SnowmanSeason-5

Punch a half circle in the middle of one of the long sides of the remaining DSP piece.  This is the opening where you will put in the gift card so do not put any adhesive along this long edge.  Run a thin line of liquid glue along the 2 short sides and the long side that does not have the half circle.  Attach this to the inside.

AstheInkDries-SnowmanSeason-3jpeg

Super cute and easy to make too!  Hope you liked this gift card idea.  Check out the links below for a complete list of products used.

Band Together for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #CCMC588

It is Thursday which means it is time for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.  This week it is a sketch challenge #CCMC588.

CCMC588

I have the Band Together bundle on my mind since it is one of 8 bundles that are an extra 5% off during the Online Extravaganza (11/20-11/22)

AstheInkDries-CCMC588

I cut the largest circle using the Layering Circles die in Purple Posy card stock (Purple Posy card stock along with the other In Color card stocks are also on the Online Extravaganza).  I stamped the large flower in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  I colored in the flowers using Night of Navy and Purple Posy Stampin' Blends.  Since the card stock is Purple Posy there isn't too much coloring to be done on the flowers. I colored the space around the flowers using the Dark Night of Navy Stampin' Blend.

AstheInkDries-CCMC588close

I applied Clear Wink of Stella on the flowers to give them some extra shine.  The flower circle was layered on to a Purple Posy scalloped circle.

AstheInkDries-CCMC588side

The Night of Navy card stock was embossed using the Scripty 3-D folder.  I cut one of the beautiful bands and which is partially hidden by the circle of flowers.  The little sentiment is from the Free as A Bird stamp set.  The little butterflies were cut using the Butterfly Beauty dies.  The card base is a 4-1/4" x 11" piece of Purple Posy card stock.

This was a fun sketch and I loved using one of my favorite bundles, Band Together.  Be sure to stop by and see what the rest of the design team created using this sketch.

Frosted Foliage Gift Card Holder

I am back and rested after a fun weekend away at Stampin' Up!'s OnStage event in Portland OR.  I had 13 of my team there which made it even more fun!  We received the January-June 2020 Mini Catalog and the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  The catalogs are fabulous and I am looking forward to sharing lots of new products with you.  Before I can do that I need to share more of the current Holiday catalog with you.  Don't want to rush the season!

AstheInkDries-FrostedFoliagegiftcardjpeg

I love the Feels Like Frost DSP.  It is now back in stock so if you want it order it soon.  It is a very popular pack of paper.  I used the  Frosted Frames dies to cut out both the Seaside Spray label and the beautiful Silver Foil frame.  The pretty Silver Glimmer snowflakes were also cut out using the Frosted Frames dies.

Now this may look like an ordinary card, when you open it you will see it is also a gift card holder.

AstheInkDries-FrostedFoliagegiftcard-side

Here are the measurements if you would like to make your own gift card holder.

    *Thick Whisper White card stock 4-1/4" x 11" scored at 2-1/4", 5-1/2".

    *Feels Like Frost 6" x 6" DSP  3" x 4" (front panel),  2" x 4" (inside panel)

    *Silver Foil 4-1/4" x 4-3/4"

    *Seaside Spray 2-3/4' x 3"

    *Silver Glimmer paper 1-1/2' x 2-1/4"

You will also need a circle punch or die to make it easier to remove the gift card.

This is an easy gift card holder to make and will delight the recipient.

Beauty & Joy for Festive Friday

Ready for a challenge?  It is time for Festive Friday Challenge #FF0047!  This time we are being inspired by Thanksgiving.  What does that mean?  Check out the Inspo list below.  You use at least 3 elements from the Inspo List which were inspired by Thanksgiving, for your project and post it in the FF0047 (Festive Friday Gallery).  It is so fun and easy with the Inspo list to enter the challenge.

FF0047

I chose to use gold, leaves, and glitter for my elements from the Inspo List.

AstheInkDries-11-15

I used the Delicata Golden Glitz Ink pad.  It has the prettiest metallic shine, that unfortunately I am not able to capture.  Besides the shine they also dry fairly quickly but not instantly so you can use them with embossing powder too.

AstheInkDries-11-15side

I have a tutorial for you if you want the measurements and all the details on how I made this card.  Just CLICK HERE for the tutorial.

I really hope you join in the challenge!  It makes all of us on the Challenge team so happy to see lots and lots of entries in the gallery.  Looking forward to seeing what you create!

Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop...Home Decor

SDBH Banner

I am a slow crafter.  Believe me I can take a long time making even the simplest of projects.  I am also a master procrastinator which coupled with being slow well, it is just not a good combination.  I am working on overcoming my issue with procrastination but you know the joke I will get to it sometime later.

This week has been extra busy and I realized  I had just a short time period to make my home decor project for this hop.  What to do?  I found this frame in my stash and decided to make another sampler.  However, I didn't have the time to create little pieces of stamped goodness for each little space.  What to do?!

Night Before Christmas Memories & More Card pack to the rescue!!

AstheInkDries-SDBHNov

The middle row of images and the "Tis the Season" are all Memories & More cards cut down to fit the frame.  I added a few rhinestones, a star, and a little bit of glitter but otherwise they are straight out of the box.

The top right is a card front from the Night Before Christmas Memories & More Cards & envelopes.  I added the Santa's sleigh die which was cut from the Jolly Season dies.  I painted on some Wink of Stella so there is a little shine on the sleigh and reindeers.

On the bottom left, I made a wreath using one of my favorite dies, All Around Wreath dies.  I cut 2 wreaths one in Mossy Meadow and the other in Old Olive and layered them.   The berries were created using Sparkle Glimmer paper with a little Cherry Cobbler ink daubed over it.  The ribbon is the beautiful Cherry Cobbler Diagonal Stripe ribbon.   The star paper is from the Night Before Christmas 6" x 6" DSP.

On the bottom right I cut the words using the Merry Christmas dies in Sparkle Glimmer paper.  The background paper is also from the Night Before Christmas 6" x 6" DSP.

I also sprinkled snowflakes cut from Sparkle Glimmer paper using the Seasonal Layers and the Christmas Layers dies   around the frame.

I am now a believer in the Memories & More card packs.  It was so easy and quick, even for me to put this project together.  I look forward to making a bunch of cards using the rest of the cards and the card & envelope pack but you guessed it, I will get to that later.

Now it is time to  hop on over to see what the talented Carol Payne has created!

Here's a list of all the stops on the hop!

Merry Moose

First off let me apologize that I am using the Moose punch which is no longer available for purchase.  The Merry Moose stamp set is still available.

AstheInkDries-MerryMooseCCMCjpeg

When we lived in Spokane, WA,  I remember reading in the paper there was a moose who had been hanging around a park near the river so I prepared a picnic dinner and we went out there in search of the moose.  We walked all along the trail, at the time of day he had been known to show up and well you guessed it, no moose.  We had a nice picnic dinner and came home.  I never saw a moose the whole time we lived there.

I am not sure what brought this all to mind when I saw the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #CCMC587.  It is funny how the mind works.

CCMC587

The moose was stamped in Crumb Cake ink on Crumb Cake card stock and then punched out using the Moose punch.  The moose is not too detailed so it shouldn't be too difficult to fussy cut.  The scarf was stamped using Pretty Peacock ink on Pretty Peacock card stock and fussy cut.   The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set, a most useful set that pretty much has every sentiment you might need.

AstheInkDries-11-14SDBCside

The leaves are from the Seasonal Layers dies and I love not cleaning out all the pieces of the detailed leaf.  It creates an interesting look.  The Cajun Craze card stock was embossed using the Swirls & Curls folder.  Can you believe this already embossed piece of card stock was in my scrap folder?!  It was just waiting for me, unlike the moose.

I am loving this color combination!  It is definitely a keeper.  Be sure to check out what the other members of the Create with Connie & Mary design team created for this challenge.  So many great ideas using this combination of colors!
