Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop...3-D Projects

AWOW hop header

Welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday blog hop!  Today on this international blog hop there are 22 stops.  You will hop from New Zealand to Hawaii with lots of stops and time zones in between.  The theme for this month is 3D projects.

TeaBag-AWOW3Dbag

I love a fun bag and so I used the All Dressed Up die and the True Love DSP to create this one.  I will warn you, I generally try and use just one or 2 stamp sets or dies on a project but on today's project I went a little wild and just pulled dies from lots of different sets.  I wanted to up the cute a little so I made some bag charms to dress up my tote.

TeaBag-AWOWcharms

The fun tassel was created by cutting a 1" strip of DSP and then cutting 3/4" or so slits the length of the DSP.  I then rolled it up and glued as I rolled to form the tassel.  The little Magenta Madness butterfly was cut using the  Butterfly Beauty dies and attached it to a little black circle.  The heart was cut using the Snail dies and mounted on the tag from the Hydrangea dies.   I added some Shimmer Crystal Effects to the heart and oh I love the shine, dimension, and the little bit of glitter it adds.

TeaBag-AWOWbag&box

This is  a teabag.  It holds the 3-1/8" x 3-1/8" Acetate Card box filled with color coordinating tea.  Yes, I bought this tea because of the color.  Do you ever do that?  The acetate box holds 4 teabags and fits perfectly in the tote.

TeaBag-AWOWboxflowers

I wrapped a 2-1/4" strip of the DSP around the acetate box.  The white ribbon is from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo pack.  I do like this ribbon a lot, it ties nice crisp bows.  I added a few flowers that were cut using the Pierced Blooms dies.  I added the Shimmer Crystal Effects to the center of each flower.

I hope you liked my TeaBag!  Now it is time to hop on over to see what the talented Teri West has created for you!

Blossoms in Bloom Shades of Blue

Played around with Misty Moonlight (2020-22 In Color), Seaside Spray (2019-21 In Color). and Night of Navy color combination.  I cut one of each color using both the detailed and bold dies in the Many Layered Blossoms ,part of the Blossoms in Bloom bundle.  I also cut one of each color in 4" x 5-1/4" and a card base, 4-1/4" x 11".  It was fun playing around with the different combinations  mixing and matching.

Blossoms in Bloom

This is my first card using the Blossoms in Bloom bundle (Blossoms in Bloom stamp set and the Many Layered Blossoms).  I wasn't going to get this bundle but I am so glad I changed my mind.  After just one play with it, I am hooked!

ASID-BlossomsinBloom-

I cut the outline layer in Basic Black cardstock and the bolder layer in Magenta Madness  part of the In Color 6" x 6" DSP.  Isn't it pretty?  Adhering the two layers was a little tedious which is why I am looking forward to getting the Adhesive Sheets. The Adhesive Sheets will make it so much easier to attach the outline layer.

ASID-BlossomsinBloom-side

The Whisper White layer was embossed using the Tasteful Textile 3-D folder.  Another must have texture!  It has a little more texture than the Subtle 3-D and looks like fabric.  The sentiment was embossed using White embossing powder and decorated with an In Color Enamel Dot.  Inside of the card is another flower from the Many Layered Blossoms die.

ASID-Blossoms in Bundle-handjpeg

What is your favorite 2020-22 In Color?  Right now my favorite is Magenta Madness. It really is hard to choose.  I think my favorite will change based on what color I am using at the time.  The colors are all great and I am looking forward to discovering my favorite color combinations.

If this bundle is on your shopping list, you could get it free.  How?  During the month of June you get to choose a free bundle when you purchase the Starter Kit.  The Starter Kit is $99 (US), with free shipping, and you get to choose $125 in product. For more information GO HERE or contact me and I will be happy to help you.

Jar of Daisies

It is Thursday and time for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge!  This week it is a color challenge.

CCMC615

Before I work on a color  challenge I pull out strips of the card stock in the challenge and clip them together.  They sit on my desk until I am ready to work on the challenge. Usually, by the time I work on the card I have an idea of what to make.  The only thing that came to mind for me was to make a striped background using the colors.

ASID-JarofFlowers-CCMC615

I stamped the jar from the Jar of Flowers bundle in Night of Navy and the water in Coastal Cabana ink on Whisper White cardstock and punched it out using the Jar punch.  The daisies were punched in Whisper White cardstock using the Medium Daisy punch.   The greenery was cut in Coastal Cabana cardstock using the Forever Flourishing Dies and sponged around the edges using Night of Navy ink.

ASID-JarofFlowers-CCMC615side (1)

There was a bit of an empty space so I added my favorite little butterflies from the Butterfly Beauty dies in Night of Navy cardstock.  The sentiment is from the Many Mates stamp set inked in Night of Navy.  The Many Mates set is going to be so useful since it has sentiments for the front and inside of the card.  Just peeking out from the inside of the card is a border cut using the Many Medallion dies which can be bundled with the Many Mates set.

Thank you for stopping by. Hope you liked this week's Create with Connie & Mary Challenge project.  If you are in need of a catalog please contact me and I can send one out to you.

ASID-JarofFlowers-Bumblebee

I used one of the flower arrangements from the Jar of Flowers set and placed it in a stand cut using the World Map dies.  The stand was cut out using the new Brass Foil.  The flowers were colored using Stampin' Blends and one of the things I cannot wait to purchase are the Stampin' Blends in the new In Colors!  Did you see the adorable Bumblebee Gingham ribbon?  Love!

ASID-JarofFlowers-Bumblebeeside

The card base is one of the new In Colors called Bumblebee and over it is one of my favorite dies from the Many Medallions Dies.  I am so excited that Adhesive Sheets are back.  It will make adhering this fabulous die so much easier.  I am also intrigued to use the Foam Adhesive Sheets with this die.  I am pretty excited about all the new adhesive options.

So, what is number 1 on your shopping list?

Timeless Tropical and the Many Medallions Die

It is Friday and time for the Festive Friday Challenge!  The festivity we are being inspired by is the First Day of Summer #FF0060.

FF60

To play along with the challenge all you have to do is pick 3 of the items on the Inspo List and use it on your project.  Once your project is complete head on over the Festive Friday Blog and enter it in the gallery.  You have until Monday, June 8 at 8pm CST to enter.  I hope to see your entry in the gallery!

I was inspired by watercolor, patterns, and bright colors from the Inspo List.  This card is a mix of sneak peek items (Many Medallion dies and one of the new In Colors, Magenta Madness) and items carrying over from the January-June 2020 Mini Catalog Timeless Tropical stamp set and In the Tropics dies (purchase them as a bundle before June 3 and you will save 10%, Timeless Tropical bundle ).

ASID-TimelessTropical-FF60

I love the Many Medallions dies!  I can think of so many different ways  to use these dies.  Today I simply layered it over my favorite new In Color (at least for today), Magenta Madness.  There have been overlays before in different kits. I was always reluctant to use them since they were just a few of them but now I can make as many as I want which gives me permission to play. I think they would make fun stencils to use with embossing paste, brayers, and sponging techniques.  When I am in the right frame of mind, it would also be fun to inlay them in  different colors.  That's just a few ideas I have roaming around in my brain.  Hope to have a stretch of time to play.

ASID-TimelessTropical-funfoam

I tried something new on the "aloha".  I wanted it to be raised up but wasn't sure how to do it since it is pretty skinny and I didn't think trimming dimensionals would be very satisfactory.  While I was thinking about what to do I remembered finding some white fun foam while cleaning out my room and yes, I decided to try and cut the fun foam with the aloha die.  It cuts like a dream, no problems at all.  I glued the Sparkle Glimmer paper aloha to the fun foam and problem solved!  This is an easy solution and so much easier than cutting tiny pieces of dimensional.

Did you know that every member of the Festive Friday Design team creates a tutorial for their project?  Some are videos, some are on the blog post, and some are PDFs.  I created a PDF for you!  You can access it HERE.

Thank you for stopping by!  If  you do not have a copy of the 2020-21 Stampin' Up! Annual catalog that goes live on June 3 and do not already have a Stampin' Up!® demonstrator please contact me.

Under My Umbrella Thank You

This week is flying by!  It is already Thursday and time for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge. This week we have a sketch to challenge and inspire us!

CCMC614

One of the stamp sets I will miss is Seriously the Best stamp set.   I like the combination of the fonts and cutting out the larger word.  Here I embossed the thanks using White embossing powder on Flirty Flamingo cardstock and fussy cut it.  The longer sentiment was also embossed using White embossing powder on Granny Apple Green cardstock.

ASID-UnderMyUmbrella-CCMC614

I paired up the Granny Apple Green Gingham from the Brights 6" x 6" DSP with Flirty Flamingo.  It is a happy, springy color combination.  The umbrella was stamped on Flirty Flamingo DSP and punched out using the Umbrella Builder punch.    The cute little bunch of flowers were stamped using Crumb Cake ink and colored using Flirty Flamingo, So Saffron and Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends.   Yes, it had to be fussy cut but fortunately it isn't very big or detailed.

ASID-UnderMyUmbrella-CCMC614side (1)

I created the stitched scallop edge using a die from the Stitched Be Mine dies.  Here are the sizes of the cardstock I used.

  • Thick Whisper White CS 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" scored at 4-1/4"
  • Flirty Flamingo CS 4" x 5-1/4", 1-1/4" x 3"
  • Whisper White CS  3-7/8" x 5-1/4"
  • Granny Apple Green DSP 3-7/8" x 4-3/4", 3/8" x 3-1/8"
  • Crumb Cake scrap for umbrella handle

Sneak Peek: Jar of Flowers Again

I am back with another sneak peek using the Jar of Flowers bundle.  This time I am pairing it up with a product that is retiring, The Bird Ballad Laser-Cut Cards & Tin.  I just checked and it is still available for purchase and it is even discounted!  The tin and the cards are beautiful so be sure to order them soon.

ASID-JarofFlowers-May25front

The Jar of Flowers bundle is a 9 piece photopolymer stamp set with a coordinating Jar punch.  There are 4 different flower arrangements in the set and they are all fun to color.  I posted a sample with one of the other flower arrangements a couple of days ago.  This arrangement was colored using Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo, Bermuda Bay, Poppy Parade, Pool Party, and Old Olive Stampin' Blends.  The sentiment is from the Lovely You stamp set. I love the mix of fonts in this set.

ASID-JarofFlowers-May25angle

I lined the front of the Bird Ballad Laser-Cut card with So Saffron cardstock.  I cut the So Saffron cardstock 4-1/8" x5-3/8" and adhered it to the inside of the card front.using a thin line of  Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I also added a Pool Party butterfly using the Butterfly Beauty dies.

ASID-JarofFlowers-May25

Here is the card without the little butterfly.  Which do you like better?  It is a tiny detail and maybe hardly noticeable.

Hope you liked this sneak peek of this wonderful bundle!  Remember, the new Annual Catalog will go live on June 3.  If you would like a catalog and do not have a Stampin' Up!® demonstrator please contact me.  Thank you!

Sneak Peek: Jar of Flowers Thanks

Are you ready for s sneak peek?  This year the Annual Catalog pre-order list demonstrators were able to order from was amazing!  I don't think there was a set, bundle, accessory, paper, that I didn't want. The ability to pre-order products is just one of the many perks available to demonstrators, I love it.  Being a demonstrator is a topic for another day.  You know you can contact me anytime for information.

Back to the sneak peek.  One of the bundles I ordered was the Jar of Flowers bundle.  This bundle is a photopolymer stamp set and punch.  The punch is a Mason jar and there are also Mason Jar Shaker Elements that coordinate.  So cute!  The stamp set also has 4 flower arrangements for the jar.  I chose to focus on the beautiful flowers for my first card.

ASID-JarofFlowers-sunflowers

Aren't these sunflowers so happy and cheerful?  Instead of putting them in the jar I stamped the flowers down the side using Early Espresso ink on Very Vanilla cardstock.  I used a mix of Pumpkin Pie, Mango Melody, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Soft Suede Stampin' Blends to color the image.  This floral arrangement is fun and quick to color.

I wanted to add a little something more to the card so I watered down some Early Espresso ink and created the splatters using an Aqua Painter.  I don't do that often but maybe I should.  I like the randomness of the splatters.  The sentiment is from the Butterfly Gala set stamped in Early Espresso ink.

ASID-JarofFlowers-sunflowersside

I added some Linen thread and a few Gold Metallic pearls to finish off the card.  Here are the sizes of the cardstockI used.

  • Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock 4-1/4" x 11" scored at 5-1/2"
  • Early Espresso Cardstock 4" x 5-1/4"
  • Very Vanilla Cardstock 3-7/8" x 5-1/8"

Hope you enjoyed this sneak peek and look for more,as we countdown to June 3 and the official launch of the 2020-21 Stampin' Up!® Annual Catalog!

Ornate Garden Specialty DSP

I have been posting to my blog for 26 days straight.  Today I was tempted to not post but the thought of breaking my streak just didn't feel right so here I am posting late but I am doing it!

ASID-OrnateGardentrio

The Ornate Garden Specialty DSP is so pretty.  Love the colors and Mint Macaron and Early Espresso look so good together, kind of reminds me of Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream.  This is a simple template and is great to show off your pretty papers.  I added a little strip of Early Espresso that was cut using the Ornate Border Dies.  Isn't that little scallop so pretty?

ASID-OrnateGardentrio-side

I added one of the sayings from the Ornate Thanks set.  I like this sentiment since it will work for lots of different occasions.  The sentiment was cut out using one of the Stitched Rectangle dies.  Did you notice the pretty little Gilded Gem?  The gems come in 3 sizes  and you get 30 of each size.  The ribbon is Mint Macaron 1/4" Textile Ribbon from the Annual catalog.
