Festive Post Halloween

We are entering the last few days of the sale of selected packs of Designer Series Paper.  There are a couple of packs that are on sale that are on backorder (Forever Greenery and the Plaid Tidings DSP).  Not ideal but more  packs are expected in before the end of the month, yay!  Today's card uses my favorite black and white plaid from the Plaid Tidings DSP.

FestivePost-Halloween

I love how the black and white plaid looks with Pumpkin Pie.  This probably was the fastest card I have ever made.  I opened up the Festive Post stamp case to find these 3 tags stamped, colored and punched.  Why didn't I finish it before?   All the images and sentiments are from the Festive Post set except for the 3 pumpkins.  The pumpkins are from the Fireside Trimming stamp set.

FestivePost-Halloween-open

The inside mimics the front with the cute little bats from the Festive Post set and the pumpkins from the Fireside Trimmings.  I usually spend way too much time working on my cards so it was so fun just to assemble this card.

Ornate Garden Specialty DSP

This week and month seem to be flying by!  It is already Thursday and time for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.  This week it is a sketch challenge.  When I saw the sketch I immediately thought about using the Ornate Garden Specialty DSP.

OrnateGarden-CCMC635

Here you can see that the pretty Ornate Garden DSP is doing most of the design work.  The daisy print in the pack reminded me to use the Medium Daisy punch in Bumblebee with a Soft Suede center.

CCMC635

The cute little sentiment label was made using the Stitched Nested Label dies.  Both layers were cut using the die and the Whisper White portion I trimmed away right below the stitching so I could have this layered look.  The sentiment is from the Zoo Globe stamp set.  It was the right size for the label and is a cheerful sentiment and we all can use a little cheer.

OrnateGarden-CCMC635-side2

In this picture  you can see the reflection of the gold foiling on the Mint Macaron.  It is so pretty and adds a beautiful shine to the card.  You will find other sheets in this paper pack with a gold foiling detail.

OrnateGarden-CCMC635-side

A little peek of the inside of the card shows a little strip of the DSP.   I will also add another punched daisy to the inside.

Now it is a great time to check out what the rest of the design team created for the challenge.  Thank you for stopping by!

Beautiful Autumn

Cajun Craze is a perfect color for Autumn projects.  During the fall I use it  a lot.  Today's card is no exception.

Beautiful Autumn-ASID

The Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP is so pretty and unfortunately  is on backorder.  The leaves and acorn were punched out using the Autumn Punch pack (this is on the Low Inventory list so if you want it, order it soon) from the Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP.  You could get the same look by stamping the leaves and acorns using the Beautiful Autumn stamp set  and punching them out using the punch pack.  The stem and leaves (longer panel) was stamped in Cajun Craze ink and Mint Macaron ink.  The sentiment was also stamped using Cajun Craze ink.  All the panels were cut using the Stitched Rectangles dies.

Beautiful Autumn-ASID-side

The dies are layered on a piece of Brushed Metallic cardstock.  The Brushed Metallic cardstock isn't quite as shiny as Foil Sheets.  It is a little more matte but still has a nice shine.  The Brushed Metallic cardstock comes in Bronze, copper, and gold.  Here I used gold, to coordinate with the piece of Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP I used for the background.  In addition I added a few gold Metallic pearls and a simple bow using Linen thread

Listed below are all the products I used to make this card.  Thank  you for stopping by.

Warm Hugs and Plaid Tidings

It has been a busy week!  This week  I participated in 3 blog hops (check them out here, here, and here), my weekly Create with Connie and Mary Challenge project, and now my bi-weekly Festive Friday Challenge project.

I loved the card I made for the Festive Friday Challenge.  You can probably see why.  It features 3 things in a row, a favorite color combination of black, white and red,  something(s) sparkly and Designer Series Paper.

ASID-FF70

Before we talk about the card, let me tell you about the super fun Festive Friday Challenge.  Every challenge features a holiday and an Inspo List inspired by that holiday.  There are 10 items on each Inspo List and you need to pick a minimum of 3  items to feature on your project.  For a list of all the rules go here.

FF70

Hopefully you can see what I chose to use from the Inspo List...hot drink theme, plaid, ribbon, and die cut.

ASID-FF70-side

Oh how I love black and white plaid.  This beauty is from the Plaid Tidings DSP pack, which is on sale this month!  The little elements and the sentiment are from the Warm Hugs bundle.  So cute and simple.  Each of the little squares sit on a square of Black Glitter paper.  Love seeing the peek of sparkle and the Glittered Organdy Ribbon adds the final bit of shine.

Hope to see your project in the Festive Friday Gallery.  Thank you for stopping by!

Life is Beautiful

It has been a busy few days with lots of blog posts.  Today it is the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge day.  This week we have a color challenge.

CCMC634

These are pretty bold colors and the first thing that came to mind when I saw the combination was to do a sponged background.

ASID-CCMC634

It took a few tries to get the background sponged they way I wanted it to look.  I started sponging with Mango Melody, Cajun Craze, and then Pretty Peacock.  Generally I always start with the lightest color first and work my way to the darkest.  The tree is from the Life is Beautiful stamp set and inked in Pretty Peacock.   The bokeh dots were stamped in Cajun Craze.  I love the way the bokeh dots look.

ASID-CCMC634-side

It isn't something I do often but I splattered Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint over the card.  I like the little bit of shine it brought to the card and made it look a little magical/whimsical.  Hard to explain but it added another layer to the image.  Even with the splatters and all the other things going on I felt it still needed something.  I found the sponged backgrounds that I didn't use and punched out the leaves using the Autumn Punch Pack.  I like the way the card turned out but in some ways I don't think it looks like something I made.  This is one reason I like to do challenges, they push me to try new things.

Thank you for stopping by and below you will see a list of all the supplies I used to make this card.

Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop...The World Around Us

AWOW hop header

Welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday blog hop!  We have a total of 23 stops on this hop!  We are an international group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators  here to share some ideas and inspiration.   Our theme this month is the World Around Us.  This can mean many things and each of us will have a different take on what that means.  So hop along with us and share in the fun.

Today  is a very blustery day here in the Pacific Northwest and there are leaves falling and swirling all around.  This was my inspiration for my card and what is happening in the World Around Me.

ASID-AWOW-Oct

I used the Gilded Autumn  Specialty Designer Series Paper and the Autumn Punch Pack for the leaves.  All the leaves are from the DSP and except for the 2 small leaves were punched out using the leaf punches in the Autumn Punch Pack.   The 2 small leaves were fussy cut out from the DSP.  The leaves that have foil accents were colored using the Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends (Light).

The Very Vanilla CS was embossed using the Tasteful Textile 3D folder.  This folder like the Subtle 3D folder adds texture but isn't distracting.  It reminds me of the texture of watercolor paper.

ASID-AWOW-Octside

The Playful Alphabet Dies and four different patterns of DSP were used to cut out FALL.  The DSP was put on a piece of Foam Adhesive Sheet and cut out using the dies.  The Foam Adhesive Sheet is roughly the thickness of Stampin' Dimensionals.  One of the nice things about the Playful Alphabet Dies is there are multiple dies for some of the letters.

Inside of the card I added a strip of the Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP and  a leaf and an acorn from the DSP and punched out using the Autumn Punch Pack.

Now it is time for you to hop on and see what the talented Teri West has made for you.  I wonder what is happening in the World Around Her?

ICS Blog...Poinsettia Place DSP

ICS header

Time for the Inspire, Create,  Share Blog Hop.  This month we are focusing on Designer Series Paper!  I will freely admit I have a paper problem.  What is the problem?  Well, I love it.  Loving pretty paper has led me to be a hoarder, waiting for just the right project to use that pretty paper on. Sound familiar? Recently, I realized that hoarding and not using the paper is not really honoring it so I am working hard at changing this and becoming a person who uses and enjoys creating with the pretty paper.

The pretty paper I am focusing on is the Poinsettia Place DSP.  This pack of paper features poinsettias, pine cones, and holly along with some simple patterns.  Some of the images can be cut out using the Poinsettia dies.  The colors in this pretty paper include Bumblebee, Garden Green, Old Olive, Real Red, Soft Suede, and Whisper White.  This pack of pretty paper along with 14 others are part of the Designer Series Paper sale.

ASID-PoinsettiaSlimline

I made the popular slimline card.  This size cards fit in a business envelopes.  It is a fun size and something different.  I used 2 different designs on the front of the card from the Poinsettia Place DSP pack and cut out some of the flowers from another sheet.  One of the flowers (middle one) was cut out using the Poinsettia dies and the other 2 were fussy cut.  Garden Green leaves and the Bumblebee buds were cut and embossed using the dies.

ASID-PoinsettiaPlaceDSP-open1

Yes, the slimline card is a great size to use as a gift holder of cash or a check.  Here are the measurements you can use if you would like to make one of these cards.

  • Whisper White card base  7" x 8-1/2" scored at 2-1/2", 6"
  • DSP 2-3/8" x  8-3/8",  7/8" x 8-3/8"

ASID-PoinsettiaPlaceDSP-open2

Both of the sentiments are from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set and stamped in Early Espresso ink.  You can purchase the stamp set and the dies together as a bundle and save 10%.

Now it is time to hop on over to see what the talented Dana Sullivan has created for you!

Poinsettia Petals Split Card

I have been making these split cards for a long time.  It was time to make one using the Poinsettia Petals bundle.

ASID-PoinsettiaDies

The poinsettia you make using the Poinsettia dies is pretty big which makes it easy to connect the top piece to the bottom.  Here are the measurement of the basic card pieces.

Soft Suede CS 4-1/4" x 7-1/2" scored at 2",  4-1/4" x 2-3/4"

Poinsettia Place DSP 1-3/4" x 4", 2-1/2" x 4"

Very Vanilla CS 4" x 5-1/4"

Real Red CS (poinsettia) 4-1/4" x 5-1/2"

Old Olive  3-3/4" x 3-3/4"

Bumblebee scrap

ASID-PoinsettiaDies-side2

The  Merry Christmas sentiment is from the Festive Post stamp set.   The second sentiment is from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set.  Mini Glue Dots were used to attach the poinsettia to the top and bottom pieces.

ASID-PoinsettiaDies-side1

The Poinsettia Place DSP is one of the 15 packs of Designer Series Paper that is 15% off in October.  One of the special things about this pack of paper is that you can use the Poinsettia dies to cut out some of the images.  It is also one of the few packs of DSP that features Very Vanilla.

Posted below is a link to all the packs of Designer Series that are on sale and  links to the products used to make this card.  Thank you for stopping by.

Simple Sunday-Harvest Hellos

This season I have used the Harvest Hellos and Apple Builder punch a lot, maybe even more than when they first came out.  I think it is so clever that you can use the punch and with the stamp set create both pumpkins and apples, two perfect images for the fall. I  found something while out doing some shopping that was just perfect to showcase both an apple and a pumpkin.

ASID-HarvestHellos-hey

Here the item is in a box made using the Little Treat Box dies in one of the many plaid patterns found in the Plaid Tidings 6" x 6" DSP.   So fun to be able to use both images on the front of the box.   What do you think is inside?

ASID-HarvestHellos-hey2

A pumpkin apple hand sanitizer!  This is so perfect to showcase the Harvest Hellos stamp set and Apple Builder punch and it is practical and non caloric too.  Don't you love it when you find something so perfect?   The colors coordinate and everything!  I would have purchased more but it was the only one I could find.

Want to see other projects made using the Harvest Hello stamp set and the Apple Builder punch?  Go Here,  Here,  HereHereHere, and Here.

Hope you liked today's Simple Sunday Share!  All the products I used are listed below and do link directly to my store.  Thanks for stopping by!
