2020 Sale-A-Bration

Rise & Shine Flowers

How are you?  Hope you are well!  Time for a card that uses 3 different Sale-A-Bration offerings.   Ready?

ASID-Rise&Shine-smallbloom

Can you guess the Sale-A-Bration products I used?  If you guessed Rise & Shine stamp set, Thoughtful Blooms stamp set, and the Small Bloom Punch, you would be correct.  I also used the Birthday Dies (sadly sold out) from the Coordination Product Release.

Years ago my husband gave me a weekly subscription to a little floral bouquet.  Every week the florist delivered a small little arrangement that brightened my day.  It was fun to see what would arrive and it really was a lovely treat.  Today's card reminded me of those little bouquets.  When I send this card I hope it will brighten someone's day.

Here's what I used.

Have a great day!  I am going to sit down and write a bunch of cards.  Hope to brighten someone's day and spread a little joy.  Hope you will join me and do something big or small to bring a smile to someone's face.

Rise & Shine

How are you?  Hope you are doing well.  I made it a full 7 days of posting here!  It hasn't always been early but I am giving myself some grace and just working on sharing something here everyday.   Today's project was one we made at the last face to face event I did.  It seems so long ago, when in fact it was less than 3 weeks ago. How things have changed.

ASID-Rise&Shine-box

This is a sleeve for the Acetate Card Boxes.  We used a sponge brayer to color the Flowering Foils Specialty Designer Paper and attached it to some Grapefruit Grove cardstock.  Grapefruit Grove is one of the 2018-20 In Colors and I really like how it plays so nicely with Petal Pink and Calypso Coral.   We stamped the mug from Rise & Shine (Sale-A-Bration 2020) and cut it out using the Cup of Cheer dies.

Wondering what's inside the box?

ASID-Rise&Shine-boxopen

A package of Mug Treats along with a spoon!  This particular treat is a Cinnamon Roll Cake Mix and even comes with a little package of topping.  This would make a great little sweet gift and since you are starting with an acetate box, quick to make too!

Remember Sale-A-Bration and the Coordination Products ends on March 31!  Have a great Sunday and thanks for stopping by.

Flowering Foils

How are you?  Hope all is well with you!  Just a few more days left of Sale-A-Bration and yet so much more I want to make and post using those fabulous products.   The products I am playing with today were part of the 2nd Sale-A-Bration release.

ASID-FlowerinfFoils-SoVeryVellum

The Flowering Foils Specialty DSP and the So Very Vellum Specialty DSP look so good together.  I colored in the background of the Flowering Foils DSP with the coordinating Stampin' Blend which makes the beautiful silver and rose gold flowers really stand out.  The So Very Vellum DSP is still available as a Sale-A-Bration choice but is currently backordered and expected back in around the 2nd week of April.  The pretty vellum is worth the wait.  You get 2 sheets of embossed vellum in 3 different colors: Pool Party, Purple Posy and Soft Sea Foam.

The pretty frame is in the Ornate Layers dies which can be bundled with the Ornate Style stamp set or purchased separately.  The entire Ornate Garden Suite will be available for customers to purchase on April 1.

The label is from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies found in the January-June 2020 Mini Catalog and the "hello" is from the Timeless Tropical stamp set.

ASID-FloweringFoils-grapefruit

This card is for you while you wait for the So Very Vellum DSP to arrive.  Here I used the Perennial Essence Vellum Cardstock in Petal Pink.  The vellum was embossed using the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder, part of the Ornate Garden Suite.  I think it would also be pretty embossed using the Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder.

Remember to check out all the recently added products for Sale-A-Bration.  You can see them here.  Lots of great choices to choose from!  Just be sure you place your order by 10pm (MT) March 31 but it would be better for you not to wait till the last minute to avoid items being sold out.

Follow Your Heart

How are you?  Hope you are well.  I am working on blogging every day while I am socially distancing.  I would like to be days ahead but that is not yet the case.  It is taking me some time to adjust to the new normal.

ASID-LIlyImpressions

Here are the details:

  • Pool Party CS card base 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" scored at 4-1/4"
  • Lily Impressions DSP cut at 4" x 5-1/4"
  • Pool Party  CS 3-1/2"  x 4-3/4"
  • Use the butterfly from the Springtime Impressions die and cut out on the 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" Pool Party CS
  • So Very Vellum Specialty DSP in Pool Party 2-1/4" x  4-1/4" cut out the butterfly.  The So Very Vellum DSP has sold out but you could use Cardstock Vellum or the Pool Party butterfly you cut in the prior step
  • Stamp the sentiment from the Parisian Beauty stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink
  • Layer the Lily Impressions DSP on to the Pool Party card base.  Layer the Pool Party cs with the butterfly cut out on to the Lily Impressions DSP.
  • Apply a glue dot or 2 to the body of the Vellum butterfly and adhere it in the cut out.
  • Color the rhinestones using Calypso Coral Dark Stampin' Blends

ASID-LilyImpressions-side

I added a strip of DSP to the inside of the card and some additional butterflies cut using the Butterfly Beauty dies.

We are in the final days of Sale-A-Bration and we may begin to see more items sell out so be sure to place your order sooner rather than later.  If you need assistance please contact me.

Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop...Final Days of Sale-A-Bration

SDBH Banner

Welcome to the March Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop!  We are still Sale-A-Brating with Sale-A-Bration!

ASID-SDBHMar20

Earlier in March 5 new Sale-A-Bration products were released.  I used 2 of the 5 products that were released, the Flowering Foils Specialty DSP and the So Very Vellum Specialty DSP.  I also used a die from the Ornate Layers Dies which is part of the Ornate Garden Suite,  an early release from the upcoming annual catalog.  Products from this suite will be available starting April 1, it is a beautiful suite of products, definitely something to look forward to!

The flowers from the Flowering Foils Specialty DSP were colored using Pool Party and Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blends.  These flowers for the most part are pretty easy to cut out and the parts that were a little fiddly, I chopped off.  The sentiment is another Sale-A-Bration choice, Sending You Thoughts (from original SAB release).  The card base is the Pool Party So Very Vellum Specialty DSP.

ASID=SDBH-Mar20in

I also lined the inside of the front to hide the adhesive.  Adhesive and vellum can be a little tricky, so if the adhesive shows through I cover it up with some cardstock.  I chose a Stitched Rectangle die that was smaller than the Ornate Layer die.  Love that you can see some of the pretty details of the ornate Layer die from the inside of the card too!

ASID-SDBHMar20in2

This sentiment is also from the Sending You Thoughts Sale-A-Bration stamp set.  I really like when sentiment sets include a saying for the inside too!

What's New at SU!...Sale-A-Bration

What's new hop

Welcome to the What's New at SU! Blog Hop!  We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrator from around the world who are hoppin’ to share some  fun and exciting ideas. Today we will featuring products from Sale-A-Bration!

A little over a week ago the 2nd set of Sale-A-Bration products were released.  The release included 3 new stamp sets and 2 new Specialty DSP packs.  What I love about the new release is how some of the products coordinate with the original Sale-A-Bration release and/or the January-June 2020 Mini Catalog.

If you follow my blog or Facebook page you know that I fell hard for the Happy Birthday to You stamp set (Sale-A-Bration) and the Birthday dies (Coordination Product Release).   With the 2nd Sale-A-Bration Release there's another product that coordinates...Flowering Foils Specialty DSP!

ASID-WhatsNEWMarch20jpeg

Right about now you are wondering, "Huh?".  Hold on things will all become clear very soon.  The Flowering Foils Specialty DSP features rose gold and silver foil designs on a white background.  The white background is perfect to try out all kinds of coloring techniques.  Here I used a sponge brayer to create this ombre effect.  I started with the lightest color, Petal Pink, then Grapefruit Grove, and finally Calypso Coral.  I used the same brayer to do all 3 colors.  I rolled off the color on my grid paper before inking up the brayer.

The cake was silver embossed on Shimmery White paper and then colored using So Saffron Light, Petal Pink Combo, Calypso Coral Combo, and Old Olive Combo Blends.  The cake was then cut out using the Birthday Dies.  The pedestal was cut off from the stamped image and I added a Silver Foil cake plate using the Birthday Dies.  I stamped, embossed and color an extra flower to decorate the base of the cake.

ASID-WhatsNEWMarch20-in

Now do you see the coordination?  This flower was cut out from another of the designs in the Flowering Foils Specialty DSP and looks like a grown up version of the flowers in the Happy Birthday to You stamp set.  This flower was cut out and colored using Petal Pink, Calypso Coral, and Old Olive Stampin' Blends.  This particular flower was not a full flower which is why I hid the bottom underneath the strip of DSP.  These flowers are too pretty to waste.

ASID-WhatsNEWMarch20-sidejpeg

We are entering the last few weeks of Sale-A-Bration!  There are already items that are no longer available: Kerchief Card kit, Metallic Baker's Twine & Sequins, and the Golden Honey Specialty DSP.  Be sure to get your Sale-A-Bration choices soon!

Rise & Shine and Make Today Amazing!

One of the 2nd  Sale-A-Bration Release sets is called Rise & Shine.   This super cute set coordinates with the Cup of Cheer Dies.  I love this set especially the fun sentiments.

ASID-Rise&ShineMar9

This is a super quick and easy card.  The tag was cut using the Bonanza Dies.  The Real Red twine is from the Country Club Twine Combo Pack.  The stripe DSP can be found in the  From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Love the  diagonal stripe!  The dies for the cup, little bow, and little tag are all in the Cup of Cheer Dies.

ASID-Rise&ShineMarch9sidejpeg

I enjoyed making this card so much I decided to make a  coordinating treat holder.

ASID-Rise&Shine-teaholderjpeg

The little spoon is from a retired die set called Cups & Kettles.   The holder is a 3" x 3" envelope.    Cute right?  What is inside?

ASID-Rise&Shine-March9teaopen

A teabag!  It is a perfect fit and a great simple favor.  I always have a need for easy to make little gifts.

Thanks for stopping by!  Here is a link to the Sale-A-Bration 2nd Release.  Please note that the Kerchief Card Kit, Metallic Baker's Twine & Sequins, and the Golden Honey Specialty DSP have sold out and are no longer available.   Be sure to place your order soon!

So Very Vellum and the Forever Blossoms

I am ready for Spring!  If you are ready too, then you need to check out and participate in the Festive Friday challenge #FF54.

FF54

All you need to do is pick at least 3 items from the Inspo List to include in your project and then post it in the Festive Friday gallery.  Here's more information about how to play along with the Festive Friday Challenge.

I chose flowers, green, pastel colors, and stitching to use on my project.

ASID-FF54

I used the new So Very Vellum Specialty Designer Series Paper in Purple Posy for the card base.  This beautiful embossed vellum is part of the Sale-A-Bration  2nd Release products.   This pack of paper is FREE with a $50 order.  There are 3 colors: Pool Party, Purple Posy, and Soft Sea Foam.  In the pack you get six 12" x 12" pieces, 2 each of three colors.

ASID-FF54-side1

The beautiful flowers are from the Forever Blossoms bundle and are colored using Stampin' Blends.

ASID-FF54-inside (1)

This is inside of the card.  I wanted to cover up the adhesive that was showing through from the front so I added the top rectangle as well as  the bottom.  All the rectangles are the same size.

I have written a tutorial for you on how to make this card, CLICK HERE  for the tutorial. In fact, every member of the Festive Friday design team creates either a video or a written tutorial on their project so be sure to check it out!

I look forward to seeing your project in the Festive Friday gallery!

Sending Flowers and the So Very Vellum

Today I am showing you another one of the new fun products in the 2nd Sale-A-Bration release, So Very Vellum Specialty DSP!  This new DSP features colored vellum sheets with an embossed design.  There are a total of six  12" x 12" sheets vellum sheets in Pool Party, Purple Posy, and Soft Sea Foam.

ASID-VellumSendingFlowers

Here I used the Purple Posy vellum and paired it with the Sending Flowers Dies from the Coordination Product Release.

  •     4-1/4" x 11" Thick Whisper White CS, scored at 5-1/2"
  •     4" x 5-1/4" Purple Posy So Very Vellum Specialty DSP
  •     3-7/8" x 3-7/8" Whisper White CS
  •     Use the Sending Flowers die and cut the circle with the flowers die in Whisper White
  •     Attach the Sending Flowers die cut to the Purple Posy So Very Vellum sheet.
  •     Wrap the Silver Metallic Edge Ribbon around the Vellum and tie a bow
  •     Apply adhesive to the back of the vellum sheet, strategically placing it so the Whisper White CS covers it.
  •     Apply a few drops of Multipurpose Liquid Glue to a few dots along the bottom of the vellum
  •     Adhere the Vellum to the card base.
  •     Use the small butterfly die from the Butterfly Beauty dies and cut 3 Highland Heather butterflies.  Attach them to the card.
  •     Use the Dark Highland Heather Stampin' Blend and color 7 rhinestones.  Attach the rhinestones to the center of the flowers.ASID-VellumSendingFlowers-side

This is a quick and easy card that can be used for many different occasions.  I will stamp a sentiment on the inside when I decide who I am going to send it to.

I will have another fun card using the So Very Vellum Specialty DSP soon.  I am thrilled with this colored and embossed vellum!  Love the soft and romantic look of vellum.  If you are interested in this vellum be  sure to order it soon, it is available only while supplies last.

2nd Sale-A-Bration Release!

So exciting!  The 2nd Sale-A-Bration Release is available starting today!  In this release there are 5 more Sale-A-Bration choices.  You can see all the Sale-A-Bration choices  here in the new Sale-A-Bration brochure. There are 3  new stamp sets and 2 new paper choices in the 2nd Sale-A-Bration release.

One of the new choices is the Flowering Foils Specialty DSP and it is gorgeous!  Beautiful designs in rose gold and silver foil on a white base.  Here are 2 of the designs in the pack.  Love these big flowers.

ASID-FloweringFoils

I used Copper Embossing Powder for the thanks (Seriously the Best stamp set).  The foil on the Flowering Foils DSP is actually Rose Gold and Stampin' Up!® does not have a Rose Gold Embossing Powder so I tried  copper.  It isn't a perfect match but it works.

On this sample I used a sponge brayer and rolled on the Flirty Flamingo ink on the cross hatch design and colored the flower using Flirty Flamingo and Old Olive Stampin' Blends.

ASID-FloweringFoils-Flirty

I will be sharing another card featuring a 2nd Release product tomorrow and throughout the month.  Remember Sale-A-Bration choices are only available while supplies last in fact there are 2 choices that have already sold out!  The choices that have already sold out are the Kerchief Kit and the Metallic Baker's Twine and Sequins.   So don't delay, place your order soon!
