2020 Sale-A-Bration

Small Bloom Punch

This is going to sound strange but this is the first time I used the Small Bloom Punch!  This punch is currently available as one of the 2020 Sale-A-Bration choices with a $100 (US) order.  It is a great size and perfect for cards.

ASID-CCMC601

I made this card for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge 601, #CCMC601.

CCMC601

Old Olive is my go to color for foliage and the leaves in the Birthday dies are my current favorite for small leaves.  To go with the leaves I used the Small Bloom Punch for the Purple Posy flowers and the Pretty Peacock for the card base and flower centers.

ASID-CCMC601-side

I wanted to add some additional texture so I also used the Shimmery White embossing paste.  The polka dot stencil is from the Basic Pattern Decorative   Masks which debuted in the 2019 Holiday Catalog and is still available on the 2019 Holiday Catalog Carryover List.

ASID-CCMC601-side1

The Purple Posy layer is 5-1/4" x 8-1/4", scored at 2-1/8" & 4-1/4".  This is a simple and easy fun fold.  The embossing paste was only applied on the front panel.

ASID-CCMC601-side2

Are you wondering where those Pretty Peacock embellishments are from?  Here's how I made them.

  • Ink up a scrap piece of Pretty Peacock cs with Versamark ink
  • Sprinkle Glittery Goodness (mix of Clear Embossing powder and Dazzling Diamonds glitter) over it and heat emboss
  • Punch out circles, place them in the center of the flowers, apply Shimmery Crystal Effects (Holiday Catalog Carryover item) over them, & set aside to dry

Now you can make glittery embellishments in any color.

Now it is time to check out what the other design team members made for the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.

Sending Flowers Die

Wanted a little springtime in the craft room!

ASID-Febcardkit1-Sending Flowers

Used the Sending Flowers die from the Coordination Products Release, Garden Lane DSP, and a bunch of flowers cut using Balmy Blue, So Saffron, Highland Heather,  and Blushing Bride cardstock.

ASID-Febcardkit-sendingflowerside

Don't you love the sentiment?  It is from the Rise & Shine stamp set which is coming in the 2nd Sale-A-Bration release which begins on March 3rd.  I also used the Mossy Meadow twine from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack .

This card is one of the cards that you will receive when you use the Host Code, VRH7HE4C and place a $50 order.  You receive both a finished card and the supplies to make one.  The only thing that is not provided is the sentiment.  I cannot send stamped images so you will have to find your own sentiment to fit in the cute label.  You will also receive another card kit and I plan to show that to you another time.

Happy Birthday to You in Seaside Spray

Happy Friday and it is time  for the Festive Friday Challenge!   This time we are celebrating the festivity of Girl Scout Week!  Here's the Inspo List.

FF53

To play along with the challenge you need to pick a minimum of 3 items from the Inspo List for your project.  Easy peasy!  Lots of possibilities and inspiration to fuel your project.

ASID-FF53

From the Inspo List I chose blue, silver, birthday sentiment, and cake.

ASID-FF53-side

This week I have been focusing on the Coordination Products Release and today's card uses the Birthday dies.  I paired the Happy Birthday to You (Sale-A-Bration set) with the Breathtaking Bouquet stamp.  I think these 2 sets go together so beautifully.

ASID-FF53-open1

This card opens in just a little different way as you can see in the picture above.  Using the Birthday dies makes it easy to cut out the flowers as there is a die that cuts out them out.  I separated one of the flowers with just a few snips since most of the work was already done for me by the dies.

If you would like a tutorial for this card, guess what I have made one for you!

Happy Birthday to You

I am loving the Birthday dies (Coordination Product release) that coordinate with the Happy Birthday to You stamp set (Sale-A-Bration).  They were a perfect combo to use for this week's Create with Connie & Mary challenge, #CCMC598.

CCMC598

ASID-CCMC598

Here's how I made this card.

  • Cut a Petal Pink card base 4-1/4" x 5-1/2".  Cut a Petal Pink layer 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" and emboss using the Subtle 3-D folder
  • Cut a 2-1/2" x 4-1/8" piece of Petal Pink vellum (Perennial Essence Vellum Cardstock) and die cut using the Delicate Lace die.
  • Run a line of SNAIL adhesive along the top edge of the Vellum and adhere to the Petal Pink embossed layer.
  • Tie a small Petal Pink 1/4" Metallic-Edge Ribbon bow around the Petal Pink embossed layer covering the strip of SNAIL adhesive.
  • ASID-CCMC598closejpeg
  • Stamp the flowers from the Happy Birthday to You SAB stamp set on Shimmery White CS with VersaMark ink and heat emboss using  White embossing powder.
  • Color the image using Petal Pink, Daffodil Delight , and Pear Pizzazz ink refills and an Aqua Painter.
  • Cut out the flowers using the Birthday Dies from the Coordination Product release.
  • Cut out the largest circle (Whisper White CS) and the coordinating scalloped circle (Champagne Foil) using the Layering Circle dies.
  • Stamp the sentiment (By the Dock stamp set) in Basic Gray ink on the white CS.
  • Adhere the Whisper White  circle to the Champagne Foil scalloped circle using SNAIL adhesive.
  • Adhere the circles to the Petal Pink layer.
  • Adhere the flowers to the Whisper White circle using Stampin' Dimensionals.  TIP- I position the Dimensionals towards the center of the die cut.  This way I can tuck in and arrange the foliage easily.
  • Cut out Pear Pizzazz leaves using the Birthday dies.  There are 2 leaves on each die (yay!) and I started by cutting 2 each and added leaves until I liked how it looked.
  • Tuck in the leaves and attach them using Mini Glue Dots.
  • Adhere the embossed Petal Pink layer to the card base using SNAIL adhesive.
  • ASID-CCMC598side
  • Cut a 4" x 5-1/4" Whisper White cs and attach it to the inside of the card.  Cut a 1" x 4" piece of Petal Pink vellum. Cut the vellum using the Delicate Lace die.

Lovely Lily Pad Merci

This week the Create with Connie & Mary Challenge is a color challenge.

CCMC597

ASID-CCMC597

I used an Aqua Painter and Pool Party ink on watercolor paper to create a wash of color.  I wanted a soft look so I used a lot of water on the paper.  The flowers were stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink on Petal Pink CS.  I used a Blender pen to pull the color from the stamped lines.   I loved how they turned out.

ASID-CCMC597-side

The "merci" and the swirly tendrils were cut in Cherry Cobbler CS using the Parisian dies.  I also embossed the Petal Pink layer using the Parisian Flourish 3-D Embossing Folder.   I wanted to a little sparkle so I added a few white From My Heart Faceted Gems.

Be sure to check out what the rest of the Create with Connie & Mary design team created for this challenge.

Kerchief Card kit

Recently I was looking for a stamping project to take with me on a short getaway.   I didn't have much room in my luggage so whatever I took had to be pretty compact.  I realized that the Sale-A-Bration Kerchief card kit was an all-inclusive kit and would be perfect to take along.  The only thing extra I needed to pack was a scissors to cut the twine.  I thought about not taking a scissors or the twine and adding the bows when I got back home.  While I was finishing up my packing I found a blunt tip scissors that my son used when he was little and knew it would cut the twine and not cause any trouble going through security.

ASID_SABkerchiefkit-2

I pretty much made the cards exactly the way the kit instructed except for making them both in landscape and portrait orientation.  This was a very relaxing kit to make.  The sentiments are pre-printed and generic enough to fit many occasions.

ASID-SABKerchiefkit-1

This kit is perfect to take along when you travel or just want to work on something quick and cute.  I will get another kit and make some alternate designs or maybe not, since these are great just as they were designed.

Now the Kerchief Crd kit is a Sale-A-Bration choice.  Here in the US when you place a qualifying order of $50 you can choose this kit as a free product choice.  The kit is currently unavailable but more of the kits are on the way and should again be available on February 3.

Special Someone

Ready for another Festive Friday Challenge?

FF51

How do you play along?  Just pick 3 items from the Inspo list to include in your projects and submit it to the Festive Friday gallery by the due date.   The project you create doesn't have to celebrate Valentine's Day but it does need to include 3 items from the Inspo List.  Here is a link to how to play along with the challenge.

ASID-FF51

I chose to use hearts, doilies, and red from the Inspo List. I could even claim glitter since he is holding a glittery red heart.   Isn't the raccoon from the Special Someone set so cute?  From the first time I saw the catalog I knew the set would have to be mine.  Beginning on February 4th, the Special Day dies that coordinates with the Special Someone set will become available.  As a demonstrator I was able to pre-order them which is what I used to cut out Mr. Raccoon.

Let's Make It

  • Cut out 2 tags from the Golden Honey Specialty DSP (Sale-A-Bration choice)  using the tag die from the Bonanza dies.
  • Score the bottom of the tags 1-1/4" .  This is how big the item I wanted to insert measures.
  • Apply adhesive to one of the 1-1/4" rectangles and place the other tag over it.
  • ASID-FF51tute
  • Secure the treat in the holder with adhesive.  I used a Ferrero Rocher.
  • Thread a 4" piece of Real Red ribbon through the tag holes and tie a bow around the ribbon using White Baker's Twine
  • Stamp the outline raccoon image in Basic Gray ink.
  • Ink the bold raccoon stamp in Basic Gray ink and stamp off once on a piece of scrap paper and then over the outline raccoon image.
  • Cut out the raccoon using the Special Day dies or fussy cut.
  • Using Stampin' Dimensionals attach the raccoon to a red heart doily
  • Stamp "for you" on Whisper White card stock.  Cut out using the banner die from the Clubhouse bundle.
  • Cut 2 hearts out of Red Glitter paper
  • Attach one heart to the raccoons paws using a part of a Stampin' Dimensional.
  • Attach one heart to the banner.  Attach the banner using SNAIL adhesive to the doily.
  • Using Stampin' Dimensionals attach the doily to the treat holder.

ASID-FF51-side

Cute and simple little treat to give to your friends, co-workers, or anytime you need a little treat holder.  Now it is time for you to figure out what you are going to make for the Festive Friday Challenge #FF0051.

Be sure to check out what the rest of the design team created.

Painted Poppies Trifold

Last week there were a lot of hearts, reds and pinks on the blog.  This week it is Black, White, Red, and poppies, at least for today and tomorrow.

ASID-Painted PoppiesB&W

This is the first time I used the Painted Poppies stamp set and it only seemed right to pair it with my favorite Sale-A-Bration choice, the Golden Honey Specialty DSP.  This is a tri-fold card and I haven't made this card style in quite a while.  You can see a tutorial HERE.  The scoring and products used are a little different but the concept is the same.

ASID-PaintedPoppiesB&W-3

This isn't a difficult style of card to make at all.  It is a fun way to show off how nicely your DSP patterns coordinate.

  • Basic Black CS 4-1/4" x 11" scored at 3" and 7"
  • Black & White stripe from the Golden Honey Specialty DSP 2-3/4"x 4" and  1/2"x 4" (inside of the card)
  • Black & White hexagon pattern 3-3/4" x 4"
  • Whisper White (inside of the card) 2-1/4" x 4"
  • Largest Circle die from the Layering Circles
  • #7 Circle and #7 scalloped circle (#1 being the smallest circle)
  • 5 Tiny butterflies cut from the Butterfly Beauty dies out of Black Glimmer paper (unfortunately this is a retired product.  It was so perfect for the project, I decided to use it!))

ASID-PaintedPoppiesB&W-4

Inside I used one of the die cuts from the Peaceful Poppies Elements, strip of DSP and a black glitter butterfly.

ASID-PaintedPoppiesB&W-close

I colored the poppies with the Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends Combo pack.  It is quick and easy to color in.

Hope you enjoyed today's project.  Below I have listed all the products I used to make this card with links to where you can find them.

Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop...Let's Sale-A-Brate

SDBH Banner

Welcome to the first Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop for 2020!  Our theme is Let's Sale-A-Brate!  I hope you have are enjoying the Sale-A-Bration offerings.  On this blog hop you will find even more ideas on ways to use the Sale-A-Bration choices.

I chose to feature the Happy Birthday to You stamp set for my blog hop project.

ASID-HBSABwreath

I chose to focus on the beautiful flowers that adorn the cake.  I think they are so pretty and deserved to be in the spotlight.  The stamp was inked in VersaMark, stamped on Shimmery White CS and embossed with White embossing powder.  The flowers were colored using an Aqua Painter and Flirty Flamingo, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, and Pool Party ink refills.

I have a little secret, well it isn't much of a secret but instead of fussy cutting the flowers I used the Birthday Dies!  What?!  Yes!   The Birthday dies will be available starting February 4th, (while supplies last) March 31.  The dies cut out the flowers as a group.  They are easily cut apart which is what I did.  The dies also cut out the entire cake image, fancy cake stand, and 2 different leaves.  I used the leaves from the Happy Birthday dies to create the wreath.

ASID-HBSABwreath-side

I placed the #6 Layering Circle die (#1 being the smallest circle) and then placed the #7 circle around the #6 and ran it through my die cutting machine to create the ring for my wreath.  I layered the leaves around the ring using Liquid Glue.  There are 2 leaves on the die so it makes it easy to cut multiples.  The flowers were attached using dimensionals.  I added the little banner using the sentiment from the stamp set.

I loved how the wreath looked and thought it needed a simple but pretty background.  The adorable polka dot stencil from the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks (these were in the Holiday Catalog and are now on the Carry Over list) was just perfect.  I used the Shimmery White Embossing Paste,  which adds a gorgeous glittery finish.  Seriously, if  you haven't tried the Shimmery White Embossing Paste stop now and order it!  Yes, you can make your own by adding Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to your White Embossing Paste. I love that the Shimmery White EP is ready to go and all I have to do is open up the jar.  Once the paste was dry which didn't take much time at all, the wreath was added using dimensionals.

Remember, the Birthday dies will be available starting February 4th, (while supplies last) March 31.

Now it is time to see what the rest of the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hoppers created!

Honey Bee Bundle & the Golden Honey DSP

Yes, I am posting another sample using the Honey Bee bundle  (January-June 2020 Mini Catalog aka JJ20MC) and the Golden Honey Specialty DSP (Sale-A-Bration 2020 aka SAB 2020).  These products are a  joy to create with.

Today's Festive Friday Challenge is #50, #FF50!!  The festivity that is inspiring the Inspo list for #FF50 is Inspire Your Heart with Art Day, which is celebrated on January 31.

FF50 Inspire your art with heart

I love the Inspo list which makes it easy to participate in the challenge.  I chose rainbows, stitching, and die cuts.

ASID-FF50 (1)

Here's how I made this card.

  • Basic Black cs- 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" scored at 4-1/4".  Whisper White cs 4" x 5-1/4" adhere to the inside of the card
  • 2-1/2" x 5-1/2" Black & White Striped pattern from the Golden Honey Specialty DSP
  • Color the white stripes in rainbow colors (ROYBGIV) I used Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Night of Navy, Shaded Spruce, Coastal Cabana, Highland Heather.  All are the light Stampin' Blends except for Coastal Cabana-Stampin' Write Marker)  I just realized my rainbow is not in ROYGBIV order!
  • Cut the rainbow stripe at 1/2" and trim it to 5-1/4" and adhere it to the inside of the card.
  • Adhere the 2" x 5-1/2" strip to the front of the card.
  • Cut 3 Whisper White scallop stitched rectangles using the #3 (#1 being the smallest) rectangle die from the Stitched So Sweetly dies
  • Adhere them to the front of the card
  • Stamp in Tuxedo Black Memento ink 1 each of the flowers. Cut out using the Detailed Bee Dies.
  • Color the flowers using the Daffodil Delight & Shaded Spruce Light Stampin' Blends.
  • Tie a black ribbon around the card and tie a bow.
  • Adhere the flowers to the rectangles using Mini Stampin' Dimensional
  • Cut a stitched circle using the Stitched Shapes #3 circle die (#1 being the smallest circle) in Whisper White.
  • Cut a large bee in Basic Black using the Detailed Bee dies.   Glue down the body, legs, head on the stitched circle, leaving the wings free.  Color in the body using the Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, and Real Red Light Stampin' Blends
  • Stamp the sentiment from the Honey Bee stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink
  • Stamp the large bee in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and color in the body using a Daffodil Delight Light Stampin' Blend.  Attach the bee to the inside of the card.
